Advance to Voigt Masonry

Everything went well. He provided an accurate estimate via email, and he did good work on the columns.

Unresponsive. I received a one-sentence email from owner Vance Voigt regarding an appointment, to which I responded. Nothing since by email. No phone messages. Will look somewhere else.

Great service, workmanship, and follow through. Explained evrything that was being done during the process. Completed the job in quoted time frame. Met all requirements and followed through by cleaning up. Great experience!! Great job!!! Thanks Vance!!! Will use again!!!!

I spent probably about $500 or $600 on that service and I was expecting to pay more. I think that they did a really great job. They were punctual and they responded unlike the other company that did not even bother to call. They called, gave me an estimate, and came out when they said they were going to. The work that they did looks good. They were very professional and gave me their honest opinion. We walked around the house and they also told us that I needed someone to come out and re-asses the foundation. I am going to use them again.

He came when he said he would, charged the price he earlier quoted for estimate, did a fine job.

We wanted to change the surround of our fireplace from wood and tile to stone. Vance was prompt and very informative at our first meeting. His estimate was reasonable, but our fireplace has some other issues that need to be attended to before we can go ahead with the work. We plan to use Vance once the fireplace is ready.

Vance was prompt with his estimate. The repairs were done right. You cannot tell any repair work was done. If you need high quality work, call Vance.

It took me some time to engage anyone to do the work because of my skepticism created by recent bad experiences with contractors. However, after VOIGT MASONRY CONSTRUCTION showed up as promised, diagnosed what they thought to be the problem and provided a written estimate with pictures, I was sold that they would give me the best chance at completing the project in a timely and professional manner - boy did they deliver. Their price quote was in the range as every other outfits' verbal quote. However VOIGT MASONRY CONSTRUCTION was very detailed including what would and would not be covered and their warranty policy (they were engaged to fix another firm's work). They started several days earlier than initially estimated and proceeded to work on the leaking chimneys. We had a string of bad days where they could not work but they worked every available day that was not going to be below freezing or raining. They validated their earlier estimates as they went along and shared their findings with me (I was given daily reports; one at the beginning of the day covering what they would do that day and one at the end of the day specifying what they accomplished for the day). The final product looks awesome and was well worth the money spent. There are many people in the construction business that mean well but cannot execute or have bad intentions to start. VOIGT MASONRY CONSTRUCTION is by all accounts EXTREMELY professional and know their craft to the highest degree (my humble opinion). Prior to engaging VOIGT MASONRY CONSTRUCTION, I called most every masonry company on AL that said they service my area but I either did not receive a written quote or did not get a call back. Give VOIGT MASONRY CONSTRUCTION a try and I think they will exceed your expectations; as they did for me and my home. Thanks for letting me share this experience with you.

Everything went great. Great price, great service, great craftsmanship. Vance also found brick that was nearly-matching the brick on my 1992 house. He arrrived and completed the job as scheduled; it couldn't have been easier for me. I came home and there was my new mailbox. Highly recommended.

Overall we were very pleased with the workmanship and the end result. Would definitely recommend and use them again.

I called several companies for an estimate, this was literally the only one I spoke to who sounded like they knew what to do to fix our problem. I received a call back for an estimate immediately and the work was performed within a week. It could not have gone any smoother and I would definitely use them again.

Vance was prompt when he arrived for the estimate and also on time for both the removal of the fireplace and install of the new one. His work was very detailed and he cleaned up everything nicely. He had a good eye for how the layout/size of the new surround should be. I had one stone that I wanted re-set just because I didn't like the way it was looking (my choice only, not due to poor install) and he gladly re-set it with no complaints. He even came back to do some minor touchups for free that we knew would have to be done since I was having a new floor and baseboards installed after he did the fireplace - and he even called me to follow up to set up that appointment (I didn't have to remind him! now that's great service!). He has a dry personality and sense of humor that can make him seem disinterested but he's definitely not so don't let that bother you...and he's actually quite funny! He gets right to work and doesn't waste time chit-chatting nor does he constantly take breaks or always talk on the cell phone, which was great since it resulted in the job getting done quickly and correctly with little distractions. I really liked that he was the one that came to do the estimate and the actual job and didn't just send a subordinate to do it. All my friends that have seen the new fireplace have really loved it! Responded to request for a quote quickly and professionally. I checked other Angie's List service providers and he had the best price. We scheduled an agreeable construction date and he showed up promptly and completed the work to my satisfaction. Vance handled all aspects to my staisfaction.

There was never a proper foundation support under the original brick column. Mr. Voigt worked with the foundation installer to co-ordinate the work, and handled city permitting. Mr. Voigt was approachable, knowledgeable, and answered all our questions. On his advice we used a straight beam instead of trying to re-create the original arch. His care and attention to detail in matching the existing brick and consideration of how to improve the design created an excellent result. He performed all work with an assistant. They were careful in storing their materials, protected all the entry glass while working and cleaned up everything at the end of each working session. The new column and masonry look great, and we are completely happy.

The work quality is excellent. Mr. Voight called the night before our appointment to confirm and showed up on time the next day. He kept the work area clean and left it in good condition. I will hire him again for any brick work we have to repair. He and a helper do the work which I consider fair for the price and top rate.

My fireplace was surrounded with beige ceramic tile and black grout. I contacted Voigt Masonry after seeing photos of their work online. Mr Voigt came out promptly to review my fireplace and give me an estimate in person. We scheduled the work to happen in two weeks and he & his assistant arrived promptly on both days of work. They took care in protecting the rest of my living room during the entire process of demolition and resurfacing. Their work was outstanding - the awful beige tile and black grout was replaced with a limestone block man-made stone veneer with matching grout and a lovely cedar mantel.

Voigt promptly provided an estimate unlike some others we called that never showed up. His price was reasonable compared to other estimates. He was on time, professional and his work of high quality. I would definitely use him again and would not hesitate to recommend him to others.

Vance showed up 30 minutes late for a Monday 7pm appointment. He was strangely quiet during the entire appointment and offered no technical details on how to build a retaining wall for my front lawn. He arrived in an unmarked pickup truck, and offered no photographs of previous work. I had to ask all of the questions, and his answers were short and wishy washy at best. At the end of our meeting, Vance said he would submit a bid in 2-3 days. That was a Monday. On Thursday morning I receive this response: "Decided not to bid. Thanks, Vance Voight." I am a 40 year old IT worker that is a new father in a new house that needs some work. I really wish this guy had not wasted my time between Monday and Thursday since he told me to wait for his estimate. I did, and now I have to look for another estimate at the end of the week. His lack of consideration and communication delayed the start of my project by a week and deserves a "F" rating on the list. Based on Vance's lackluster demeanor at my home, and lack of information during our discussion, it's now obvious that I should have cut the initial meeting short.

Voigt Masonary did an excellent job, completely removed all the demolished brick and mortor, and rebuilt it completely. The new brick matches the house brick beautifully, and in fact is perfectly aligned with the house brick so that the visual vertical and horizontal integrity of house's appearance is maintained. Excellent job.

He responded very quickly and came to my house to give an estimate and talk about the job right away. He was very honest about what he could do. He completed the job promptly and professionally.

He was able to fix it in one day and he did a great job. He cleaned up very well, there is not a trace of him ever being there. He hauled all of the old brick to the landfill for us. The new foundation he put in looks very secure. He also put an address block number on the front. He was very prompt and replied very quickly to our phone calls.
