Description of Work: Never purchase from this store (Austin) again. Sucks. Worst after purchasing customer service ever received. We purchased our bed frame, sofa, dining table and TV console from them. We purchased in a hurry and did not have time to visit other furniture stores, most importantly, we met a salesman who looked very professional and nice which turned out worth nothing if you had complain on your furniture. We purchased from them partially due to their nice service, which ended up in unhappy experience. Our TV console is under bad condition (the dining table and chairs too), it had damaged back wood, many scratches on the surface. We did not find out it because that parts faced to the wall and we did not buy a TV yet so we did not check it carefully. We contacted the salesman after we found out the problem after 8 days we received the console. They said they cannot replace it, they can only send someone to fix it for us. Alright, it turned out they hired the repair technician from other companies to do the repairmen. The first repair technician came to our house and said : oh, they should definitely exchange a new console for you guys. We were happy to hear that and waited for the new console. Unfortunately, we did not hear back from them again. We contacted the salesman and the customer service, they told us they did not receive the report from the repair technician. After several days, they told us the salesman believed he can repair it this time. We said, we would like for exchanging because its bad situation and we did not use it at all, but they said they cannot exchange a new one because we did not report in 5 days. OKAY, fine, we waited for their repair. After about one week, we received another calling from another repair company, they said they need to do an inspection before they can order the new pieces for our console. OKAY, fine, they sent another repair technician to our house again, took some photos and left. Then no response again for another one month, I called the customer service again today, and get the information that they have ordered the piece of wood from China??? It will take another 3 month for shipping. Why no one even let me know what happened? I did not believe them at all. I received this piece of **** console on September 21 and started the argument from September 29 and be told to wait another 3 month before they can start the repairment on November 20. Why not just exchanged a new one for us? We even did not take off the tag. We did not buy a TV for 2 months, just because we thought they would take this console away. Never never buy your furniture from the star furniture, unless you are lucky enough to receive all your furniture under good condition.

We purchased a dining room table and chairs on sale. The sales person was very patient with us and our numerous visits. The delivery team damaged the edge of the table and immediately processed the paperwork for the replacement. They replaced the damage table top in less than one week.

Description of Work: Stay away. Bought bed I needed and it was delivered broken. The guy said it was fine until they could replace it After they left i found the mattress did not cover the platform. If was awful It was not displayed this way at the store. The delivery people said they would report and i was to call sales person I left messg. She never called back. A new sales person arranged bed pick up and I ordered another type of bed and a table. Nobody called The night before with the pick up time so I had to call The pick up was set for between 2-5. I had to call at 5 (no pick up yet) and was told they would be there at 5:45. Thanks for the great communication. When they finally came to pick up the broken bed the guy dropped a piece if the bed on my antique dry sink gouging the side. I called the store and cancelled my remaining order. The store manger did not seem concerned. They lost a lot of business as I need to fill a 3200 sq foot house.

Did not hear from the company for two months. Went directly to the store and talked to the assistant manager who immediately resolved the issue and refunded the cost of the rug, $2700.00.
Description of Work: They said that they would repair the rug. When the rug was returned it was not repaired. Was told that contrary to the company's own on site repair specialist they determined in Houston that there was nothing wrong with rug.

Maggie the decorator is great, helpful and good at her job, if you go just ask for her. Do use her. Don't even bother with a sales person. Don't order ANYTHING that is not in stock unless you want to have it for five or six months to get it.
Description of Work: Bought living room furniture, couch, rug chairs tables. The sales staff, as we experienced them, are barely there for you. If you want any help, go directly to the in store decorator, , Maggie, who is very good and very responsive. The real problem with Star furniture is that you never get your furniture. Quite frankly, after four months, we are still waiting for some of our furniture and they really don't know when it will be in. We don't need instant gratification, but, five months (maybe more) is just out of hand to wait for furniture. By the way, we are paying for furniture that we don't even have. That interest free thing doesn't seem like such a good deal, when you are paying on account for furniture you haven't recieved.

The sales representative was very helpful and listened sympathetically to my tale of two prior purchase attempts that had turned out to be disappointments. I'd shop there again for larger ticket items, and am sorry that this store is not located in the Tampa Bay area - A++.
Description of Work: Purchased an Oriental-style carpet. The product which was sent to Florida, was exactly the same quality, coloration, patterning, and workmanship as the showroom sample.

The furniture was fine but it was a horrible time with the delivery. They had to come out five different times due to broken and scratched furniture. My sales person Martha was very professional and easy to work with.

What a disaster. The dining room chair broke as it was being pushed to the table, immediately after it was delivered. The desk return had a glue streak across the entire pull-out writing area, and the return was not level with the desk, even though they were bolted together. There were other minor flaws, but too many to mention. I was told by Customer Service the chair would be replaced in two weeks. Two weeks later, when I followed-up, I was told it would be a couple more months since it was shipping from overseas. The hutch was delivered, but the doors on it were not aligned and the magnet didn't touch the door, so the door wouldn't close. It took three deliveries and several phone calls before the desk and return were somewhat level. The hutch doors now close. The chair is still overseas. They tried, but it shouldn't have taken so many tries. Service after the sale is trying, at the very least.

Their sales people are nice and helpful, but their delivery was awful. I had damage to almost all of my furniture. They never inspected their items before shipping them out, thinking that I would just accept it. One of the pieces of the sectional set lower than the others. The marble top on the bachelor chest for my bedroom set had been cracked, and I could see where they tried to epoxy it back together. Another piece had stain that was off color. Some of the dining room chairs for the table set were scratched and damaged. What they expect you to do is to accept the material because they deliver all the way from Houston, and then you're supposed to deal with the problems on your own time and be inconvenienced. It was a nightmare. Their sales people are nice and friendly, but their delivery people bring out damaged merchandise. They make it right, but it takes weeks.
