I called Johnson Sprinklers to get a quote and submitted an online request. I had to call again before getting a call back. Made an appointment with Chris. I learned that Johnson Sprinklers was bought out by Landpro Landscape Services and they would be providing the quote. Chris was very professional. We walked the property and explained what I was looking for but would defer to his expertise on placement and number of zones needed. He didn't take measurements or test my water pressure. I received the quote the next day and it was extremely high compared to the other two quotes (almost double). I chose to go with another company. (SteadyRain Irrigations)

They did excellent work at a reasonable price and were very knowledgealbe.

These guys are the best, and I couldn't be happier with their work. Everything that is good can be said of them. Dale is a very personable business owner and really took time to understand my needs and requirements. He gave me a solid price estimate and stuck to it. The price was great, and the service was exceptional. I really couldn't be happier! I can tell that Dale and his team are really honest and act with integrity. Dale and his team just about wrote the book on this stuff. He was prompt, courteous, efficient, and did an amazing job. Dale's team worked their butts off. I didn't seem them even stop for lunch. They literally worked like mad the whole time. The value of their work was great. The quality was outstanding. It was literally a pleasure, and I don't say that easily! These guys know their craft. My landscapers broke a pipe going into a valve and left a big hole in the middle of my backyard late Thursday afternoon. They wanted $125 to fix the one valve (that they broke). I called Johnson Sprinklers on Friday after finding him on Angies List. Mr Johnson came to my house to fix my sprinkler system on a Sunday morning. He worked about 4 hours in the incredible heat and only charged me $328. He repaired, replaced and adjusted everything. This is the only sprinkler company I will ever use. Mr. Johnson was awesome.

The job went really well. He does the work himself. He is very hands-on. He called me right back. He is very professional and I will absolutely use him in the future.

I contacted several irrigation companies in the Austin area about installing a sprinkler system in my new home in the area. Dale was literally the only one who actually picked up and talked to me about the project. I don't know what it is about this town, but contractors and service providers seem highly unresponsive to customer inquiries. Anyway, Dale is a character. He will talk your ear off if you let him, but he knows his stuff and is a straight dealer. After we worked out the logistics, his crew came out and installed the system in about a week. It might have been shorter, but apparently there were a lot of rocks buried in the yard. I dinged him a little on responsiveness for a couple of reasons. First, I felt like I had to chase him for status updates. Second, he doesn't communicate by email because, according to him, his Internet connection stopped working. In the year 2011, I have a hard time accepting that as an excuse. But overall, I would recommend him. UPDATE - I recently had the system inspected/ tested for spring and learned from the other vendor that Dale messed up in a number of respects with respect to the types of heads used and their placement. As my landscaper also made the same comment, and we had significant patches of dead grass even before winter, I am forced to revise this report.

All went very well. After setting a tentative appointment a week earlier, firmed it up day before. Called approx 1 hr before arriving from more distant appointment. Looked over each system gave me time estimate, talked on the phone with original installed of the pump to confirm electrical setup. Went to inspect all the stations and setting of all the sprinkler heads on two separate sprinkler systems. Recommended replacing one uncommon sprinkler head he did not have on the truck but one I can buy at Home Depot near by and I am able to do the replacement being that I am a residential property manager, so I am reasonably handy. Unlike other contractors in years past he did not try to sell any supplies or extra equipment. I am prime target since I have 30 year old mechanical Rain Bird 12 station timer that is long past its projected life span, but one that Rain Bird Company refurbished 5 years ago through it's local dealer after I mangled it by forcing gears to turn backwords (I suffered only small labor charge). He provided short piece of PVC pipe and couplings to repair the supply line that separated. Mr. Johnson gave me a verbal brief of his carier in sprinkler business and brief sketch of his other cariers. All was most impressive. He spent 2 1/2 hrs here and had an assistant with him. He accepted my personal check.

Dale, surely has the extensive experience in this field; however, I never heard from him again to provide the follow up service as he promised. I was indeed disappointed as he has the expertise in this area.

It went well, Dale is a pro, and he is also a character. He is hilarious. He always shows up and fixes what he installed if you have a problem, its kind of old school the way he operates. He knows more about sprinkler systems than most of his competitors and backs up his work with good service.

They installed a sprinkler system in the front and back of our yard. The system works very well with keeping our lawn watered. They were real helpful explaining how the system works and about the installation. The service was very professional and very reasonable in price.
