About us

Dave Loveday began building ALL types of fences with his father in 1964 when he was still in high school.In 1972 at the age of 25 Dave started contracting fences in the South and Central Texas area. Dave's father Taught him that he needed to decide if he wanted to be just another fence builder or if he wanted to provide a QUALITY product and SERVICE. Dave decided to stay with the QUALITY product and SERVICE so that he would always have access to consumers that knows that you get what you pay for and that cheaper doesn't always equal BETTER. Dave decided several years ago to stay with mostly residential fences and installs ornamental iron fences , Ornamental Gates iron railings and most other types of Fences. At 64 years old Dave is still going strong and continues to serve this community with the same level of QUALITY AND SERVICE. Please view my web site lovedayfence.net for a lot more information. Thank you for your review, Since I installed your fence I have fired the man that did the work in late December because he was not dependable. I replaced him with another crew and they were not dependable and after a few jobs giving them every opportunity to get into my plan I fired them because they were not dependable, in the mean time I am losing a lot of customers because I can t find experienced workers but that is better than getting a bad review.

Not well!!!
Description of Work: When I emailed Mr. Lovelace about doing some work for me he was very "interested". I requested a quote for having a current fence removed and a new fence put in. As soon as I emailed him a second time with a change (reduction) in services he became "too busy". He suggested I look elsewhere for assistance.

On Feb 2 2015, I received a request for a quote from [member name removed]. She was asking for a quote for a pig wire fence in a cedar frame 4 ft matching gate on either side of the house. Feb 2 2015, I replied with a picture of what I thought she may be talking about and told her I wasn t familiar with the term pig fence. Feb 2 2015 she replied and said it is exactly what she wants. Feb 2 2015 She sent an e mail she also wanted to change the height to 6 ft. tall. Feb 3 2015 I replied with an e mail giving her a estimated quote for 3,500.00 for a 6 ft. tall 4x4 cattle panel fence using 4x4 cedar post and 2x4 cedar frame. Feb 9 2015 she sent me an e mail asking to revise her request and ask for the removal of 175 ft. of 4 ft. tall chain link fence and wanted me to dig and set 26 4x4x6' post. Feb 10 I sent her an e mail asking her if she wanted me to install a new fence. On Feb 10 at 1:50 pm she said it would be removing an existing fence that is approximately 175 ft' in length. And then she added that she is thinking about having me to install 26 4x4x8 treated pine post. I replied that I am way behind right now and short on help and don t know how long I will be on it and indicated that she may want to find someone else to help her. I never heard anything else from her but I do have a very large job that I started after we started talking about her projects. Also I give 3 to 4 quotes every day and never know when someone will call in for me to go ahead. I am sorry that I couldn t be more help to [member name removed] but I could never figure exactly what she wanted and I did give her the cost of 3,500.00 for the fence. Description of Work: My gate had been sagging for quite some time and Dave emailed me as soon as I sent msg. through Angie's List. He came out (can't remember if it was same day or next) but his response was almost immediate. I got home from work and the gate was level !!! I did have a new opening mechanism installed by Dave also. I must say he is probably one of the 1st providers I have used that was "not too busy" to come and take care of my problems. I would recommend Dave to anyone.

Description of Work: Powder-coated black fencing on 3 sides of 2acre corner lot with 2 auto gates. Had trouble with gates breaking at arm weld after 3 mos.Dave sent a crew to repair it quickly and it has held ever since. Neighbor saw our fencing and hired Dave also.I would strongly recommend him to my family and friends.

I spent $4,500 on the job. I had a lot of trouble to find somebody to do the fence. He was recommended by somebody, who had used him earlier. He was great. I was very impressed with him. He does not use wood in his fence anymore. He puts in things for the long haul. He was professional and did what he said he would do. The people, who worked with him, were easy to deal with. I will absolutely use him again in the future.
Description of Work: I used Dave Loveday Fence Contractor to install a fence, four months ago. He installed a six foot tall, chain-linked fence, which goes around the backyard. It has three gates in it.

Excellent. After we got over some scheduling hurdles, Dave's team was out here and did the work in two days. The cleaned up everything, were polite and accomodating. The work looked exactly as promised. I particularly appreciate Dave's relentless focus on quality.

Mr Lovejoy was able to view the jobsite the day I called. I did request stainless steel nails to prevent staining of the cedar (a problem reportedly with galvinized nails), and this delayed the estimate while he found a source. Screws would have been even better, but the additional labor cost was cost prohibitive for me. The lead time was about 2 weeks. The old fence came down in a day and was cleared immediately Steel posts were set exactly and concrete given time to set. The new fence went up perfectly and the site was cleaned and cleared immediately. It looks great I recommend Mr Lovejoy without reservation.
Description of Work: We had 150 feet of 6 foot fencing replaced. The new fence is all cedar to prevent warping and for uniform aging.

No hassles, no problems, just did the work I had asked for. I called him on the phone, asked for the work, and it was done. No contract, no bill waiting for me when I got home. I called him and asked what I owed him, and it was what he had estimated. He is definitely a guy with whom you can conduct "handshake" business. I always recommend him to anyone who is looking for fence work.
Description of Work: I have used Dave for repairs to my fence and gate several times over the last couple of years. The last time, the welding nad hardware that attached my gate to the supporting post had failed. His son came out, while we were gone, and reattached the gate in a way that was stronger, sturdier, and simpler than the way the orginal had been attached, as well as leveling it at the same time.

Work was slightly delayed due to availability of material however, the project was completed by due date. There was a problem after 5 mos. with the welding on the gates where the retracting mechanism was connected.We contacted the contractor and he sent a crew right away to repair it. They reinforced the welds but it broke again after 4 mos. We again contacted the contractor and he sent a crew within 3 days (on Saturday) and this time they completely repositioned the arm and welded it to the solid cross member . I am sure we will not have the problem again. I cant say enough about the responsiveness of Dave and his crew. They were all professional and did their best to make sure that we were satisfied. I would recommend this company to friends and family.

They stand behind their product which has great quality. Their prices are reasonable. They were responsive and showed up on time. We had some shifting in the ground and the gate wouldn't shut. They responded and came out immediately to fix it with no cost to me.
