Wilson Landscape Design

They arrived about 10-15 minutes late, but I understand morning traffic is difficult to predicate. I had a list of instructions for the work to be done and they proceeded with trimming shrubs, removing old dead shrubs, preparing a planter bed and planting flowers and plants, laying down fresh woodchips in the shrub area, raking and leaf removal. The yard was in pretty bad shape when they arrived and they made a huge difference in the overall appearance of the yard. They worked very hard and were polite and professional. I would recommend this company and their workers.

After initial contact to establish work to be performed & schedule a date, we were unable make contact again. Repeated calls & messages were left so, we addressed with Angie's List. Our payment was refunded.

They did an excellent job in removing all the existing plants and disposed of everything in one day. There was no mess left behind. It took longer than planned to finish the job and the replacement plants were smaller than I had expected, but they explained how costly larger plants would have been. I am very pleased with the final product. I would definately use Wilson Landscaping again. They helped me with other areas of my home ( setting the automatic water sprinkler, fixing flood lights, etc) and came back several times to make sure I was satisfied. They are a great group to work with and I plan to call them again in spring to update the landscape with annuals.

The whole job went smoothly and the end results are quite attractive. We are very satisfied with their work.

John Wilson came out to find out the scope of the work and to advise me as to what I needed to purchase to get the job done and how long it would take. On the appointed day, his crew arrived. They worked diligently. The only complaint I might have is that the young man they assigned to do the planting of seasonal color obviously had never done that before so the way the plants were laid out in the bed was not very attractive. It honestly looked like something a young child who had no idea about how to plant things might have done it. They didn't survive long, either. But overall the job was done better than I could have done it and it did look better when they left.

Wilson's team was very professional, punctual and they did great work. We've had sod replaced before with a different company with mixed results. Wilson's did a very thorough job in the removal of old sod, preparation of the soil and laying of the new grass. Overall, I was very impressed with the level of communication, willingness to evaluate different design ideas (last minute change on my part) and hard work to complete the project on time. I plan to use Wilson Landscape again and would highly recommend.

They were on time, got to work right away and managed to get the whole back area cleared out. They also took care of the leaves everywhere, the house is new to us and the yard was unkept. Very happy with what they were able to get done in the time we had. Though i was surprised to find that the 8 man hours was a little misleading. They sent out a crew of three and counted each man to the 8 hours of work i was expecting. So, i only really got 2 and half hours of work from them. But the guys they sent out did a wonderful job on what needed to get done and managed to finish the back area only.

Came out and did a detailed walkthrough. We had some hold ups with delivery due to a stolen lap top, but were very happy with the finished product. It was a very nice design that addressed our areas of concern. We liked the layout and detail very much. If we move forward with the project, I will use them.

We purchased a full week of outdoor projects as a Big Deal. I met initially with DJ to walk through the sprinkler system and point out issues. Crew came a few weeks later to start on the project. The second day the crew didn't show up in the morning as planned to finish the project. I called every number I had for Wilson Landscaping and all calls went to voice mail. I waited and finally left in the early afternoon because I had rescheduled my day to be there in the morning. When I returned in the late afternoon, the crew was at work and just about finished up. I think Benito and his crew did a great job with the sprinkler system and the other small tasks. I think someone from the office should have eventually returned my calls or followed up about the project. I'm not sure I got the full week's worth of the Big Deal but on the other hand, no one ever contacted me to pay for the supplies that were needed for the repairs to the sprinkler system (the Big Deal was for labor only). So it was probably a breakeven. I was happy with the work but not with their responsiveness and professionalism. But I was happy enough with their work that I might give them a second chance.... Lesson learned: Get the cell number of the one of the crew members to call as a backup to the office numbers.

We purchased the coupon from Angies List for the 40 hours of landscaping/hardscaping in late September. We scheduled an appointment for a consultation and received drawings about one month later. We really liked the design and were excited to get the project underway but communications became a bit of an issue. In fairness, the coupon did advise to be patient because demand really goes up for the services. We decided to break the project into smaller pieces due to budget constraints and asked for the estimate provided to be broken down into smaller units. It took about 2 weeks to have the estimate broken down into smaller units. Looking back, I probably would have attempted to have the designer back out to go over the project rather than trying to communicate via email because I think they were pretty swamped during the day and handled communications early in the morning or late evening. Once we finally got the numbers right and got on the schedule it took about 3 weeks for work to start. The work was done while nobody was home and when I got home the first day after they started building the stone beds I realized the border was much taller than I expected and I felt like it was overwhelming the project. After contacting the supervisor by phone and discussing, Wilson came up with a plan much more to my liking and made the necessary changes. We also had an instance where a hole was dug to transplant a tree was started in the wrong place. Both of these ended up requiring additional time which I had to pay for and I think both would have been avoided with better communications. Fortunately both were caught early in the process so the over-run wasn't as bad as it could have been. The crew seems to do excellent work and were very family friendly. We are very pleased with the outcome.

I bought an Angie's LIst landscape package from this company. My company contact, DJ,was very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. I cannot complain about his personal service. But he is so busy that he could not get to my job very quickly. The project was delayed for weeks while I waited for the crew to get to me. As far as the quality of the service, it was okay. I was disappointed that the flower bed preparation did not include amending the soil to break up the hard Texas clay. Perhaps I should have clarified in advance that I wanted that, but I would think the crew would automatically do it so that their new plants could stay alive. Instead, they simply tilled up the clay and laid mulch over it. As a result, some of the initial plants died and had to be replaced. I ended up having to amend the soil myself. If you're getting beds made and you expect the soil to be amended, be sure to clarify that in advance on your contract. They also prepared a separate flower bed for me but did not address the irrigation in that bed. However, after they learned about this, they quickly sent a crew to take care of it, so I am satisfied with their prompt response and concern regarding that issue. As I said, my project was delayed, so I only paid half after they did the first half of the work. I needed to withhold full payment to give them an incentive to quickly complete the remaining work. I was ready and willing to pay as soon as all work at been completed. After the second half of the work was completed, and before I paid my remaining balance, we discussed the possibility of additional work, but they told me the owner said they would not be able to do any additional work until I paid in full. I was little put off by this because it was their delays that caused them not to get paid quickly in the first place.

They came out to review the job, took pictures, but still have not scheduled an appointment. I was eventually contacted and the work that was is excellent.

Excellent job. All three workers worked diligently throughout the project. The job was performed as expected and the final result is outstanding. Would definately use Wilson Landscape Design again.

They did a good job on the actual work. It was hard to get on the schedule. I was not always informed when the schedule changed. It often required more than 1 phone call or e-mail to get a response.

We used them and they were fine. They did some tree trimming and other yard work. The work was done well.

After a couple of false starts, the work went well and they were completed in a fairly short time. It was sometimes difficult to get in touch with the owner when I had questions. After the installation, I have not been able to contact the owner at all.

We purchased a Big Deal and I was worried about how long we'd have to wait. We were hoping to get the service done before we needed to get Christmas lights up. They were very responsive and came the week after we called, and we got lights up the same day. They did a ton of work in a short amount of time - including cleaning some deadfall out of our trees, which I thought was much more than needed to be expected from a lawn service. Really happy with them and would definitely recommend.

Personnel arrived 4 hours earlier than expected, but it worked out okay. Crew worked quickly and carefully around the yard front to back. Overall we were very pleased with the service and will have the company give us a quote to remodel the back patio and yard area.

They did a great job! The men worked extremely hard and were nice, and polite. They left my yard perfectly clean and I was extremely impressed with everyone that came! It's not uncommon for landscaping companies to all speak only spanish and they made sure to ALWAYS have at least 1 English-speaking employee on site. I will definitely use them again!

Early on, there were a few small communication issues. In my mind, when you have a little bit of that, you start to question how good of a response/work I would have received once things got started. This is just a side comment, and small issue. The main/only reason that I cancelled the Deal and obtained a refund, is because my back has been bothering me and I was looking forward to helping them. With the Holidays coming up, and my current health situation, I decided not to move forward with this company. I do not have any formal complaints/issues with this company.

This was a "big deal" and was worth every penny. The crew of 3 showed up on time, listened to our list of 'to do's" and executed them perfectly. They were here a little longer than the required 8 man hours and did great work. They even bound and piled all of the clippings and tree limbs by the street so that it was not necessary to move or touch them. I can't recommend them highly enough.

It went fine. I didn't feel that the price was a bargain--it was fair. $31 an hour to pull weeds and trim shrubs is comparable to what I regularly pay. I didn't get a return call immediately, but I bought the "big deal" on the last day or two of the offer. I had to call them again when I did not receive an expected call from them. Generally, they were polite, on time, and professional.

Very easy to work with, fair pricing, and quality work.

Purchased the special and booked them to come about 6 months later. I purchased the plants I wanted planted. I spoke with the owner a few days before they came and explained what I needed. He called to confirm the day before, and they arrived on time and worked hard and left.

They haven't started the work yet.
