Wilson Landscape Design

Everything was fine. He came to discuss. He walked around and gave me a landscaping plan. The service was good.

Bought this service through Angie's List. The deal was 8 man hours for $249 in January. I called them in March and set up an appointment. They provided a 3 man crew and removed the sod and planted the large bush I provided.

I was looking for a landscape company to primarily reconfigure the landscape in a raised bed behind my pool. The original landscape is 15 years old and quite mature. I had to contact the Company twice before an appointment to view my landscape was made. I spent 30 - 45 minutes with Wilson's representative explaining the issues and listening to his input. He took the time to take photos. He seemed knowledgeable about suitable plants. He explained that it would take some time to get back to me with a landscape plan. I received the plan about 1 1/2 weeks later. I was disappointed in the quality of the plan and in the suggested plantings. No prices were indicated. The plan did not accurately indicate the trees and shrubs I wanted to keep. In areas that had maximum sun, inappropriate plants were indicated. In all, I thought the plan was poorly thought out and presented. I contacted Wilson Landscape and discussed my concerns. Another plan was not submitted. I have let them know that I would not be using their services. (In addition, an unexpected expense has arisen that has necessitated that I scale back my plans.)

Called me and asked questions about location, new or existing landscaipe, and what looking for. Said they would call back. They did not.

We only received a plan for our front landscaping needs and a bid to replacing a large retaining wall.

Took awhile to arrange a time for service. Disappointed that although the Wilson hours showed Saturdays on the site their first response was a curt, "We do not work Saturdays. Sorry." I've noticed since I first brought this to their attention the hours on the site have been reduced on Saturdays. This was a Big Deal for 8 man hours at $249. The crew showed up on time and worked steadily for 2.5 hours or 7.5 man hours and then had to leave since it was starting to rain. What they did was adequate but I was disappointed as I walked the yard today. None of the lower growth (suckers) had been trimmed from the shrubs, one large Photinia was much taller than the other, and the branches that had been cut had been allowed to drop into the shrubs/hedges which today appeared as dead material I had to remove. They did a good job of edging the jasmine on the walk and driveway. I wish they had cleaned up the jasmine edge next to the brick as well. Originally I planned to have 2 photinias removed but DJ said they could not accomplish that in the time frame so I scaled back the job to trimming, edging, and raking- not a high skilled job. Although I had asked for a quote from DJ for haul away he never responded.

Nothing was ever completed and no one ever showed up for the scheduled estimate.

They were hardworking and they showed up on time. It was good value for the money. It was just that it was difficult to get in touch with them to schedule.

Plans took a while to get here, but I was satisfied with the result.

We had a hard time getting in touch with them. They made an appointment and they came out and left their card. I thought they were going to come out and do an assessment but they just left a business card and when tried to get in touch with them they never returned our calls. We called them at least 4 times.

It was very good. They did exactly what we asked them to do. The price was a little high but they still did a very good job.

After the initial purchase of the big deal, to have a landscape drawing done for our yard, we had a hard time getting in touch with someone to schedule the appointment. After several calls, we were able to get the visit scheduled. We had to reschedule due to an oversight on our part but we were successful in rescheduling. When we were able to meet with Mr Wilson, we had a good visit and felt that he had some great ideas and we were excited. the drawing was delivered to our home, without any follow up call or inquiry. We made a couple of calls to try to schedule some time to speak with Mr Wilson about the plan but he has yet to return our call. The drawing also doesn't factually depict the layout of our house so it is not of any value to us as it is.

I purchased the deal in January with hopes that I would receive services before Spring so I could plan and budget. No such luck. I have contacted them three times and each time someone has taken my name and number, but no one has followed up. I am growing tired of the excuses that some vendors have about the popularity of their deals causing them to have slow and poor service. If you don't have the capacity to satisfy than let someone else do the job.

The crew left my home the moment the big deal purchase time was completed, but I contacted John to get a quote for additional time. He had the guys return to complete the sod installation and leaf removal. They returned and worked for an additional 45 minutes. I'm not sure why they didn't remain the extra 15 minutes. A 3-man crew would have finished both the sod installation and leaf removal if they had stayed the full hour. Instead, there were leaves left all along one side of my back yard fence. The front sidewalk wasn't left as clean as it should have been, and leaf clean-out from under the hedges wasn't as good as it should have been. Shortly after they left, I received an e-mailed invoice for an extra hour. When I replied that they only worked 45 minutes I was presented with an adjusted invoice. Apparently the price of the Big Deal this time didn't include haul-away. I purchased a Big Deal from this company previously and at that time it did include this service.

I contacted the company for an estimate for yard work, trimming trees, mulching etc. The young man kept the appointment, was very nice and was on time. After looking over my yard and making suggestions, he assured me he would email me when he got back to his office with dates and an estimate. He emailed me over a week later with estimates for what we had discussed. By that time, I had already found another service. Their prices for services were a little higher than other landscaping services I have used.

I met with the owner, John Wilson. He had great ideas and told me what would and wouldn't work. Very professional and very helpful. The work was done very quickly, even sooner than he had promised.

No work was performed. Company completely unresponsive.

After almost a month with out hearing back from them I emailed on February 14 to see if I could get something going on an appointment. We set up an appointment for 1:00 pm, Feburary 19, I took off half a day of work for appointment, no show/no call. At approximately 4:30 I called and left a message with their service asking to reschedule. I was not very optimistic about receiving good service but I went along with it any way. We met with him on Saturday Feb 23 and showed him our lot and went over what we wanted to do. We received a very generic plan on March 15 but it didn't have the herb garden we asked for and the shady areas we had had problems with were not addressed appropriately. So in summary we were not satisfied and would not do business with them again.

Have not heard back from them for an appointment.

Paid the $99 for Angie's Special for a number of hours of yard work, and spoke to them a couple of times on the phone about setting up a date, and then never heard back from them. Got my money back. Not too keen on going in for one of the Deals again.

I contacted Wilson landscaping and set an appointment to get an estimate for thousands of dollars of landscaping. I had email confirmation that they would be here between 9:30 and 10 AM. They never showed up and never called. Then when I contacted them they told me I had the wrong times...Since when is the customer not right....? After 11 AM they finally showed up... he offered no excuses and told me that he had called and left a voicemail (He did not). When I was done, the owner had called my house and left a message for me to call him. I did. He [the owner] told me that they were not some giant company out to "screw people" and that only two people do the scheduling in his office. He stated he didn't like the "tone" of my email to him regarding him not showing up at the time he committed to. I informed him that he also didn't need my business. He ended the hostile conversation yelling at me to lose his name and phone number and to never call him again. Don't think he will have to worry about... Hopefully you won't call him either... What an angry person!

Waste of my time. On Wed. morning, I setup a time for the company to provide an estimate for weekly service and 1 time clean-up. Mr. Wilson stated that he would stop by my house on Friday morning, but no one ever showed. On Friday afternoon, I placed multiple calls to the Mr. Wilson, 1st call -promised to call me back in five minutes, and never did, 2nd call Mr. Wilson never offered a reason for not returning my call, but simply stated that someone was on their way to my house and was 5 minutes away. I have been waiting for over 5 hours, and I am tired of waiting. This lack of professionalism speaks volumes; I will call someone else who is more reliable.

DJ Quitadamo came to my house on March 13th to see my backyard. He had some good ideas on plants, lighting, etc. to enhance our yard. He responded with an email the same day showing me pictures of two types of borders and I emailed him our lot survey as well. He was supposed to provide a quote in about a week which was his timeframe, and we were excited to see this and get started on our project. On March 21st I called DJ's cell phone and spoke to him, at which time he told me the quote was almost ready and I would get it the next day on Friday or Monday at the latest. On March 26th I called the office line as I never heard back from DJ. I spoke to the lady that answers the main office line and told her my story, and she did not know DJ, but she said she would give another designer my information and have that person call me. I emailed DJ on March 26th as well just to reach out a few different ways. In the meantime I had not gotten any other quotes and our hope was to work with Wilson (based on their Angieslists reviews) and have our project done in April. Today is March 28th and I have not heard back from anyone at the office nor has DJ responded to my email. I can only assume they don't want my project. It just seems they could have been more forthcoming instead of wasting weeks of my time. Now I am back to square one at the end of March looking for others to come see my yard and help us with our landscaping project.

Using Angie's List, I purchased the landscaping labor special. Scheduled visit for landscaping design. Following visit, it took me asking for the design it was sent to me and before the actual work was performed. The work itself was excellent and looked great through the Fall season. A few plants have not survived and need to be replaced per contract agreement. To be fair, I have not yet contacted the company for replacements and am certain they will honor the agreement.

After I purchased the deal, I submitted a brief questionaire to the company on my design preferences, waiting a couple of weeks to avoid what I expected would be a rush of customers signing up for the deal. I waited a couple of weeks more without a response and then called the company. John did get to my house about 10 days later. About 2-3 weeks after the visit, I did receive a landscape plan that has good planning features and I will start the planting this spring. The only problem I had was the delay of getting the home visit and the final landscape plan.
