Wilson Landscape Design

This became a very frustrating experience. We were very unhappy with the level of detail in the plan. It was just a copy of our survey with circles drawn on it depicting where each plant would go. There was no guide (or internet link) that showed what the recommended plants looked like. There were a series of emails back and forth. At one point, we were told we got what we got because we had bought the $99 special and not the 'real' plan which cost significantly more. Rather than belabor the point, recounting all the back and forth that went on, I would like to report the most satisfying aspect of the entire experience. After we got tired of dealing with Wilson Landscaping, we contacted 'Absolutely Bushed' ( www.absolutelybushed.com) and we met the owner (Jimmie Gibson, Jr). We have worked together and are getting ready to kickoff a job that will cost about $10K. It is going to be fabulous. Thanks to Wilson Landscaping for the service they provided. It was $99 well spent because it opened our eyes and let us find a landscaping company that was a perfect fit for our needs.

This is a tale of two experiences. Getting the appointment scheduled vs the quality of the work done. Coordinating the work was a nightmare. No responsive. Several message and emails. Cancelled appointments (due to weather but was a no-show without a call so I wasted a day waiting for them). Rescheduling took another week. It truly tested my patience. After the attempts to schedule... I REALLY wanted to cancel and get a refund of my money. Then there is the work crew... The were terriffic. Punctual on the day of the work. Ready to get the job completed. Cleared the area beyond my expectation. (offered to remove small brush trees and trimmed the low branches.) Got more done that I imagined. Offered suggestions for areas I was thinking about projects. I could not have asked for more from the work crew. Its a shame that they do such great work but coordinating the service is terrible. I will likely work with them again but it will be with a very flexible timeline.

Overall they did a good job. The crew was prompt. The only concern I had was the crew only spoke Spanish and DJ gave them instructions and left. There was a question they had, but because I don't speak Spanish it was a little challenging to communicate with them. They did a good job despite the communication challenge. I indicated that I wouldn't use the company again, not because of the quality of the work, but because of the responsiveness to questions. I requested a quote for some additional work and it took over a month to receive the quote and that was after me constantly asking when I would receive it.

I purchased the big deal on 12/28/2012. It was finally delivered on 3/25/2013. I will admit that part of the problem falls on me. I was very busy at work and had limited time to schedule appointments. However, the first appointment I scheduled in early January, he was a no show. He finally came out in February and after walking the property with me and discussing ideas, he asked for a plat, which I sent to him the same day. Three weeks later, I contacted him again to find out what was going on and he said he had confused me with another property he had already completed. Promised it to me on that Wednesday, got it on Friday. He had good ideas and a good personality, but seems to have a problem getting things done in a timely manner.

Do you have an appointment with Wilson Landscaping for estimates, inspection or service? Don't worry if he doesn't show up at the appointed time. He'll get there sooner or later, sometime that week or next. Will the office be prompt with scheduling of service? Sure will, so long as you ask more than a couple of times. Does the crew for Wilson Landscape show up on the scheduled service day? Sure do! If they don't have anything else on their to do. Is Wilson Landscape prompt with invoicing? Oh yes. I got my invoice within two days of completion of service! Does Wilson Landscape have a post-service review for customer satisfaction? I don't remember completing one. Here it is two months after landscaping. If he would not answer my emails after he got my money, why would he answer emails to request he make good his warranty on the product? Quality of Product: D. Several plants have died. Quality of Service (crew): B Quality of Service (owner): D Cost: C or D. Expensive at $1800 to dig out front flower bed, extend a few feet to the side, put in some plants and mulch. Overall: D. Were it not for the courtesy and skill of his work crew, D would be charity.

Went very well. I had two hours of clean up and they used every second...even suggested another task when they were finished with twenty minutes left. Overall, this crew did a fantastic job in the time I had them for. I would, and will most likely, use them again next season!

The two men (sorry, forgetting their names) arrived on time and were extremely courteous, friendly, and efficient. They got right to work and were competent and hard working. I was very impressed with their work and their attitude. I did have some difficulty lining this up initially as I had requested a price quote for more extensive work and plantings when I was considering purchasing a larger package deal through Angie's List. I handed over my landscape plan at the initial meeting and was promised a quote within a week. I guess it was somewhat my fault that I never heard back since I told him "no rush" - this was before the holidays, and I never did receive a detailed quote as I had expected. Therefore, I did not purchase the more expensive package but went ahead with the smaller package with eight hours of help, and I am very glad that I did. These guys were wonderful. I could not have been more pleased with their work.

Purchased a "Angie's List Big Deal" from them. I requested they come and install sod in my back yard. They originally began by installing sod on the side yard and after doing that didn't complete the back yard until I emailed them to ask why they only did part of the work as a response to their sending me a bill for the materials. I never heard back from the email but the next day when I got home the remainder of the back yard was completed. So my feed back is that communication needs to be better and more professional. The quality of the work was great and they did eventually did the work to my total satisfaction so I would use them again but hope they find a way to better communicate with clients

We had a very challenging back yard to work on. It was overgrown with weeds and tree sprouts. I was expecting landscaping expertise and was looking forward to someone advising us on how to make the back yard require less maintenance. When the men arrived I discovered that wasn't the case. When I asked questions about what they recommended they had no suggestions. So I just told them to clear as much of the yard as possible and that was all they seemed to be able to do. was satisfied with the work they did and they worked the whole time. I was just expecting more expertise and initiative.

Some large roots were left and had/have to be removed by me. Even if I was just replanting in those areas, I would have had problems with the amount and size of the roots left. I can be rather critical about the work of landscaping-related companies because I like to garden. They performed enough work for me to feel like I got enough labor for what I paid, but I wasn't wowed.

I would not recommend them for any job large or small. I bought an Angie's list promotion on March 27th. By mid April they contacted me with a date for service, April 26th. Sunday, April 25 I received an email letting me know the worker couldn't make the date and was asked to provide alternative dates that week. I recommended a couple of other dates. I didn't hear anything from them so emailed them again that Friday April 15th. Again I heard nothing from them until I emailed again on April 22nd asking when my work would be scheduled. I received a note saying May 6? or sooner. I called on Sunday May 5th and asked for a confirmation call. I didn't get a call nor did anyone show up to complete the work. I want a refund and to report that I find this company very unresponsive and unprofessional.

We would be interested in either using the service or getting a refund.

It went great. They came out and listened to our wants/needs and then provided detailed plans for our landscape design. It was a really great value.

Professional crew. Got a lot done in two hours. Only negative is that the leaves and trimmings were not taken away. We had to put out 12 bags of leaves and shrubs. Overall great job!

The job looks great, and am very pleased with the outcome.

The two individuals that showed up to performthe services worked very hard the entire time they were here. The Spring weeds and grass had once again taken over the flower bed and shrubs. When they finished, it looked better than it ever has and better than I could have imagined.

They leveled the ground and laid new sod. It was a simple task, but they did an excellent job.

I never heard back from them after sending in the questionnaire.

Never received return call. Angie's List had favorable reviews. Promotional ad was of interest. Very disappointed because needed service.

The two people from Wilson's were on-time. They took time to clearly understand what I wanted done. They worked hard and steadily with a short lunch break. They accomplished more than I thought they would in the 8 man-hours.

Overall experience was just fine from the time of purchasing the "deal" to the time they arrived. The only issue (and I don't really consider it a big issue) - is I was told they would arrive between 2-3pm and was surprised when they rang the bell at 9:00am - which actually turned out to be better for me - but I am glad I was home or I wouldn't have been here to explain what I wanted done to my shrubs. There work was great! Very happy with my trimmed shrubs!!! :) I plan to contact them to see when they can come back to finish the items on my list that allotted time I had purchased didn't allow for.......

Every aspect of this job was handled professionally. From the initial contact through email to discuss the details of the work, to the clean up after all of the work was done. The landscapers were on time, they double checked what was to be done, asked questions when needed and cleaned up everything. This patch of beds had been neglected for some time and they made it look amazing. I will definitely call the for future jobs.

The Forman walked with me to look over something's I needed to be completed at an later date. Still waiting on the estimates that were requested. He said he would email them before the end of that week. Overall I would like to do further business with this company.
