Did not use him. Did the work myself.

They missed a section of edging and we called to try and schedule for that to be done on numerous occasions and then just ended up giving up on that. The sod work was done well.

I was not able to be here so I spray painted the areas I wanted clean and left a note for John. When I got home from work the grass and weeds were gone and the beds are ready for planting as expected.

Unfortunately it didn't even get to that. I called the number to make an appointment and there was an answering service ...all the woman could do was to notify John Wilson of my call. Took a week to hear back from him. When he called he didn't have his schedule with him and said would call me the next day, but he didn't. Its been 4 days since. I tried to call his cell phone directly but his voicemail was full. Can't say anything about his landscaping skills because its like pulling teeth getting an appoinment with him or get him to respond. I'm done with Wilson Landscaping before we even started : (

They did a very good job. We had some trouble aligning schedules. There were additional charges but it was mainly because I selected a couple of specialty trees that they added in with the landscaping process. They removed all of the existing shrubbery and plants in our front yard and they reworked the soil and made it more plant friendly. They put in all new shrubbery. We have pieces of exisiting plants that they relocated for me to another spot where I wanted to utilize those. They put in like 2 Dogwood trees, a Japanese maple and a number of different kinds of shrubs along with some azaleas. The only negative I might say is that it was difficult to reach them, they were very busy. We did connect and they did for the most part meet all of their dates that they promised. What was really outstanding is that they really know what they were doing and they did a very good job. It looks very professional. The people were very nice and knowledgeable. They did check with me to make sure that they were progressing well in getting the look that I was hoping for. That thoroughly outweighed anything on the negative side. We did tell them that we had another job for them to put in a French drain but again, they've been too busy to get back to us.

We weren't really thrilled about the way it was handled at first because they went to the wrong address the first time. They did some work but they told it was going to be three people for so long and only two people showed up. When they did show up to my son's house, it was only two people again. They didn't have some of the proper equipment to do the job. When they were there, they did a good job, we were just kind of disappointed in the way it all worked out. We had some bad weather during that time so it probably took about three weeks for them to come out. First of, they somehow or another got the wrong address but the emails that were sent back and for specifically had the address that we wanted. My son did all this and he even confirmed that they came to the area that they were wanting to but then wherever the initial work was done, it went to my daughter's house which is a good 20 or 30 miles away. Then it took about a week after the initial time they came out because of scheduling with them because somebody had to be there. But when they went to my daughter's house, nobody was there and they did the work. They weren't exceptional but the work they've done have been acceptable. I wasn't really happy with some of the responses I've gotten from him.

This was one of those super special discount deals suppose to have a value 4X the amount. Well I got exactly what I paid for, not what I expected. It is a new house with major renovation. I was looking to replace ALL of the landscaping. After a walk through the yard he sent me a proposal where the layout or number of trees did not even come close to what we discussed during our original meeting. The landscape drawing was done on a piece notebook paper, not to scale or of a very good quality. As a matter of fact he left out the "key" to identify the plants he had chosen from the plans. He sent the key after I pointed our the error. As I said earlier this plan was worth the $99 I paid for it, not the advertised value. A bait and switch operation if I ever saw one.

Wilson landscaping did a good job however I was told they had put down landscape fabric to prevent grass and weed growth. They clearly didn't and now all of the work they did looks awful. I'm very disappointed by this and more so, I was told initially that they had used a topical adhesive to keep the granite in place. After multiple calls, they acknowledged that they hadn't don't so and had to come back and apply the sealant.

A little bit of a wait to get the service. Excellent work. Very professional. Would definitely use again.

I'm satisfied with the service they provided but they probably didn't really listened on the kinds of plants we want and stuff like that. They provided us what we paid for. I was expecting a little more professional looking plan and taking in consideration a little bit more on what we talked about it's an okay job.

I paid for landscape design service to redesign my front and backyard. They came out and we reviewed what I was looking for but this was the last I had heard of them. I have not been able to get in touch with them since even though I have called and emailed numerous times. At this point I believe that they took my 99 dollars knowing that they would not be able to deliver and there is nothing I can do to get this money back. I am concerned that this appears to be the norm for this company and nothing has been done to prevent the, from taking other people's money as well. Extremely disappointed!

I purchased a Big Deal coupon for Wilson Landscape Design. They were prompt and really helpful. I think they were good in their communication.

I contacted them during a very busy time so had to schedule service approximately 2 weeks out but everyone was very professional and friendly. Will use them again.

The first time was just to give me the estimate or survey or some ideas for landcaping and they came out a few weeks later to do all the work.

My experience with this company was disappointing. I purchased 3 eight hour blocks of time to begin my extensive back yard make over and was planning to utilize this company’s service to do the bulk of the difficult work. Unfortunately, poor communication and follow-through made for a stressful experience. For my back yard make over, I provided Wilson’s with an illustrated plan which included existing elements and planned elements, measurements, and a legend at the bottom explaining the plans. I also included a to-do list, as requested, with a list of the things I wanted to accomplish overall and in the order I thought made the most sense. I expressed an understanding that the company would probably not be able to complete the tasks I listed and, therefore, prioritized the list to maximize what they could do. I re-communicated this priority list several times before and during the work process. During the process, I also asked for updates regarding how many hours I had used and may still need. This was especially important to me as I had a very specific budget from which I was operating. When I purchased the time, I quickly received an email thanking me for my purchase and giving instructions on what they needed. The prompt and efficient communication, unfortunately, did not continue from that point. Throughout the process, many of my correspondence required a follow-up asking for a response to the previous email. When I finally did get a response, it was often one sentence answers that left me assuming, but not fully confident in the idea, that my previous correspondence was understood. The positive I will say, is that the workers did work hard and did generate some positive results. They also, however, spent time doing things that were not a priority which left no time to complete the tasks I really needed done. They also planted my groundcover (a task that was not a priority) in clumps rather than spreading them out. This used up an excessive amount of plants and expensive compost. When I contacted the company to address these issues, as well as those never answered in my emails, they did contact the workers to redirect their efforts. Unfortunately, it was the end of the day, and I was out of hours, so little was accomplished after that. I was also told I would receive a call the next day about my concerns. In the meantime, I sent a written account documenting my concerns. I did receive a call with the promise that I would be given some more hours to accomplish my priority list and that someone would call after the Memorial Day holiday to schedule their return. I pointed out that my yard was now torn up and very muddy and I expressed a need to get that taken care of as soon as possible since I have pets. I was told that I would receive a phone call the Tuesday after Memorial Day and that someone would be out early in the week to work on my yard. The person also told me that the reason they couldn’t accomplish the tasks was because the edging I bought was difficult to install and he suggested I return it. I did not really see how this was relevant, as this had no bearing on the fact that they used their time to do other tasks. This was the last I heard from them. It has been 2 weeks since that conversation and no one has ever called back to schedule the extra hours. I, and my children, completed the remaining tasks ourselves. I, alone, installed the notoriously difficulty edging. If I had to sum up my primary complaints they would be: poor communication and poor follow-through. From the beginning, I acknowledged, and was aware that the job was bigger than the time I had purchased. I had no expectations that they would complete everything on the list. I did, however, expect to be kept informed of issues related to the job, expect my priority list to be respected, and expect the company to do what they said they would do. The only compliment I would give would be that the workers did put in solid effort when they were at the house. I am an organized person and I like to have a plan I can trust and anticipate will be accomplished. This company seems very disorganized and disinterested. I would not use, or recommend them, in the future.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that we purchased. It took almost a month to get them to come over and do our little job. First they said they couldn't do it and then we got an email saying they wanted to do it. We emailed them back a date and they said they couldn't do it that morning but they would do it that afternoon. I emailed back to see what time so I could be home. I didn't hear back so I kept calling and calling. Almost a month later they handled the job. It took them less than an hour to do the work. We were not too satisfied with them. The guys that came out were really friendly and worked diligently. They were good workers. They were supposed to be here at 8:30 and they got here at 9:00. They were pretty professional.

After about 3 weeks, the landscaper came and viewed the yard, we suggested what we would like, he took pictures, etc. He was supposed to provide us a plan which we never received even after we sent email and telephone calls.

The gentlemen arrived at the scheduled time and immediately began working on the flower bed. They first used a blower to clean out all the leaves from the bed and then used shovels, hoes and pick axes to dig up the overgrowth. When it was cleared, they picked up all the debris, including the leaves, and hauled it away. The bed was ready for leveling, planting and mulching and now looks beautiful. These gentlemen worked very hard and only took a few quick breaks during the 4 hours they were here. My daughter was thrilled with my gift! I would hire Wilson Landscape again.

We could not have been more pleased with John Wilson and his crew of professional employes. The only constructive suggestion would be to improve communication. We had difficulty contacting John by phone and/or email during the planning stage. That was not the case when we had a scheduled appointment for the instilation. The crew arrived on time and completed the job within the planned dates. I would highly recommend John Wilson's landscape company to all my friends and will use him again when we tackle the back yard.

Purchased a big deal for Wilson Landscape Design. They came out and walked the the property. The gentleman was very personable and understood what we wanted.They gave us an estimate and a design for the landscape.

Slow response. Added mostly annuals. Had to replace several plants but did without extra cost.

Provider showed up late in the afternoon on the day scheduled and could only work for about 45 minutes. Promised to come back the next day but rain delayed. Did not hear from them until I sent e-mail, then rescheduled for May 16. Understood that rain on the 15th probably led to further delay but did not hear from them even after I sent another e-mail. 8 man-hours had already been paid for so I would like to get my money back and try someone else.

They were great! Our yard looked so much better when they were done!

They missed the first appointment because the truck broke down. I waited for over 3 hours for their status update before I gave up and reschedule. On the date of the rescheduled appointment, I asked them to "call" me when the workers get to the property. Again, I waited and waited for their phone call, then by chance I checked my email and saw an email from the foreman that the crew has been at the house an hour ago. So I had to rush home to meet them. When I get there, the crew is about done clearing the flower bed, which is a secondary task on my list. I wanted them to clear the debris on the lawn before put on new soil, but I think they just cover everything up with the soil/mulch blend. They certainly speak English, but there seems to be some communication issues. I used Big Deal coupon, it took about 4 weeks to get the job done. It's my second time using them. This time things did not go as smooth as the first time. I may use them again if they have another deal.
