A-1 Guaranteed Foundation Repair

I was very impressed with the service provided. Kevin walked around the outside of the house using a notepad to sketch the house position on the lot and make note of any obvious signs of foundation issues. He came inside and used an instrument that provided elevation changes on the floors going to all rooms. He was patient and answered all of the questions that I had. He explained that some minor elevation shifts are common due to the initial foundation pour being slightly out-of-level. He pointed out where trees can affect watering needs. I am fortunate that after 10 years my house is not experiencing anything out of the ordinary. Kevin emphasized that anyone who may have an issue should get several quotes before having work done to the foundation because the estimates can be several thousand dollars apart.

I didn't end up using the company, but the service was great. It was just a little pit pricey, and I found a better quote.

Well as we suspected we did need foundation repair. One complete side of our home had sunken/fallen due to the level of the yard. We have a natural slope to the yard and the side of the house affected the most was where the yard was lowest. I was amazed at the process. The guys started at 8am on a sat and were completely done by 5 that afternoon. One day, that's all. We had 22 concrete piers driven down to the point of refusal on 2 complete sides of the house and a partial on the 3rd side. That means that 22 large deep holes were dug in to the hard Texas clay around the house. One of the holes had to go in the middle of the concrete patio. So they dug out the jack hammer for that one. I did not envy these guys at all. When all the holes were dug and the piers set, Jeff called me out to watch the actual lift of the house. Each hole that was dug had a jack in it set on the concrete piers and the men were in the holes (all you could see where their head and shoulders sticking up out of the holes) jacking the house up in unison with each call from Jeff. I watched as gaps in the mortar closed up tighter with each call from Jeff to lift the house again. It was amazing to watch your house move like that. The overall experience with this company was great. They also do an outside inspection with an individual engineers company before and after any work is done and they have the plumbing checked for leaks after the foundation is completed. Unfortunately, we did incur a leak afterward. The plumbing company that came out said that it was a large lift and PVC pipe does not handle stress and movement well sometimes. So we are getting the plumbing done and will be ready to move forward again with other plans.

It worked out fine. I didn't spend any more than the cost of the big deal and they came out on the 23rd. He was a nice guy, professional and he answered my questions.

I decided it would be wise to have at least 2 inspections. I had another very reputable foundation company also inspect my home, inside and outside around the foundation. As he was performing his inspection, I was with him and he was showingme how the tool he used worked and explained what it meant. After that we discussed his findings and possible options. His final directive was to not do any foundation repair at this time. He said that it was not severe enough to warrant piers and gave me several procedures to follow in the future in order to maintain a steady moisture level surrounding the entire foundation. I have decided to follow his suggestions and wait to see if things level out. I will follow his specific direction for June through September and hopefully that will take care of things going forward.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service. Because of the government shutdown we decided to put things off. But the guy came out and was prompt and professional. We did not have the work done. They came out a couple of weeks after I purchased the deal because they were pretty tied up, but that worked out well for me because I had things to do.

I bought the big deal to inspect the foundation. Kevin was punctual and professional. He took measurements and provided me with his assessment and recommendations. I highly recommend A-1 Guaranteed Foundation Repair.

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it turned out very good. He was very professional, very nice and he came out just as planned. I had to reschedule because of travel problems that I had, and he was very nice about that. He didn't pressure me into buying anything, and he gave me very good hints about what to do. I didn't feel like he took advantage or try and sell me something that I didn't need, and I didn't need to get a second opinion. It was a very good experience. I didn't pay anything more than the big deal amount. He was very punctual, and he came when he said he would.

After careful examination of my house and comparison of the results with documentation of the foundation work done almost twenty years ago, they told me I didn't need anything. I wish everyone I dealt with were as honest and decent.

Kevin arrived a little early, completed all of his inspection. Kevin then went over the results with me and made suggestions such as proper watering to alleviate any future concerns.

It was so far so good. I am actually had to have some work done by them next month I believe and we do have some foundation problem and repair work that need to be done. We had some foundation problem so we had them and two other companies come out and give me estimates for the repair work and we decided to go with them. The gentleman that came out was very thorough and took his time to explain things and very knowledgeable so I felt comfortable using them. They were little slow to get back from the deal that we purchased. It took them I think couple of weeks to send somebody out. I would use them in the future.

The guy that came by to do the evaluation was really nice and very thorough. He gave us follow up information on his report of what he found when he was here. We did not buy any services from him but we felt like he was very knowledgeable about what he was doing. The only reason we didn't buy services from him is because we have had foundation work done before and he said if he did anything to supplement what had already been done, it would void our warranty with our previous contractor. However, he did make recommendations of what he thought we needed to get additional work done. What stood out about his services was how much he knew about what he was doing and how he was able to communicate that to us as a lay man. Lot of times somebody will come to discuss repairs to your house and would talk in the terminology that you will not understand but he was very understandable in his explanation. They contacted us really fast after we bought the deal and the time time delay of four weeks before he came by was because of our scheduling and not his. He was here on time and he was here for quite a while. He is an independent contractor and I always have a little more respect for independent contractors that come to my house in some type of identifiable uniform or wearing an apparel and he came in a truck that I think had the name of the company but he was just in a t-shirt and blue jeans.

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it turned out good. We had 2 providers come out and give an estimate for some concrete work, due to a foundation shift, and they both looked at the house similarly, and did the measurements and stuff. A1 looked at the overall house, and determined that the house was still in good condition, the foundation shift was on a patio shift, and not on a slab that was attached to the house, for storage building. They determined that we did not have to have work done on the house itself, because the inside did not show any wear and tear which would show if there was a foundation shift. We did go ahead and order some additional work from them. I liked the fact that they said no and said that the house did not need additional work. We had scheduling conflicts. There were no additional charges. The other company that we used did not charge, but their inspection was wildly different, but the price they charged us was okay. They will be coming out in the future to do the additional work for us.

Kevin showed up on time, inspected the exterior of the house, then drew up the floor plan for the 1st floor and measured the elevation at various points inside the house. He gave his assessment of the foundation of the house and provided some useful recommendation. A-1 service indeed, highly recommended.

It didn't go at all. They obviously aren't in need of business, or didn't want mine. Purchased a deal on Angie's list to have foundation inspected and check for drainage issues. Left several messages to set-up an appointment. Received one call back and never heard from him again. To bad for him, we do have foundation problems, which are now being handled by a Professional company.

I was very pleased at the courtesy and professional handling of the Head Person Jeff Katner. He was very nice to take the time to answer all of my questions before the job was done and then took me step to step of the whole process of raising a houses foundation after it has sunk a little. Jeff and his guys really made me comfortable with the job they were doing. It was very interesting to see how the entire job was done. A_1 also made sure that after the job was complete that they sent two other companies to inspect the job. One was for the engineering and one was for the plumbing. No problems with either inspection. Job was done very quickly in a day and half. Great job of cleaning up .If I ever need anything else done with my foundation I will be contacting A-1 Foundations To the job.

Very professional and thorough.

Both representatives were professional and very responsive. The crew was incredibly wonderful and did a difficult and physically demanding job under less than ideal circumstances. The project was originally scheduled for the 10th but got moved up to the Saturday before. The crew arrived early as did the cold front. The guys dug by hand all the holes in hard to mucky heavy clay in a cold drizzle and 15 mph north wind. I felt really bad for them as I did not fully understand how the project would be completed. If I had known what a hard job this was, would have had cosmetic repairs to the interior and not fixed the slab. They left the site perfectly clean and even put caution barriers where the fresh concrete was where they had to jackhammer through the porch.

It turned out fine. They provided the service that they said they were going to. They were very polite and professional. What I appreciated the most was that they did not try to sell me anything else. They basically told me I had no problems I had to worry about right now, which was what I wanted to hear. They didn't try to sell something that wasn't necessary.

Two very nice and personable gentlemen came out to do a foundation inspection. They worked quietly and quickly. They found no foundation problems. As a follow-up, they provided a drawing I can use for comparison if I have my foundation inspected again.

I purchased a foundation inspection and preventative watering plan through Angie's List. The two gentlemen who performed the inspection were thorough and very professional. They took measurements for future reference and walked with me around the house to show me items to be on the lookout and discussed the watering needs at my property.
