Description of Work: Jeff was professional. He was running late for the initial appointment so he called and we rescheduled for next day. He was right on time, walked through the whole process, installed the required equipment quickly, tested the system and walked us through very patiently. | |He is competent and courteous. I ended up spending $230 additionally for one time system upgrade. Based on his past reviews, I feel confident that monthly monitoring service will be great as well. I will definitely recommend All Star for monitored home security service.

Description of Work: I contacted the owner of All Star Security on Thursday, April 25, 2013 and told him what work I wanted done to my existing security system. I mentioned I had purchased the coupon for $60.00 which was for 2 hours of work. He came to the house Friday April 25. Based on our conversation the previous day, I was expecting to have the work done that day when he arrived. Mr. Alexander told me he did not do the work, he needed to send out a technician for that. He then presented his sales pitch for installing a security system containing much more than I wanted to have. I declined to have that extensive amount of work done. After discussing the matter, he did agree to do what I was requesting and wrote an invoice for $674.00 from which he subtracted the two hours of labor paid for in the coupon ($180 retail cost, $60.00 coupon cost). The remaining balance was $454.00. Mr. Alexander wanted all payment for these services upfront. I declined to do that. I told him I would be glad to pay the full amount when the technician arrived to do the work, even before any work was initiated, but I was not familiar enough with his company to pay the full amount upfront thereby risking someone not showing up to do any work. He pressed, stating his technicians did not take payments, he did. He finally agreed to my paying the full amount when the technician arrived. He scheduled a technician to do the work Tuesday April 30, between 4 p.m. & 6 p.m. Tuesday no one showed up and no one called to reschedule. Wednesday, May 1, by mid afternoon, there was still no contact made by the technician who was supposed to come the previous day or by anyone else in the company. I wrote Angies List, and requested a refund of the coupon purchase. After I contacted Angie's List, I did receive a call from the technician wanting to come out immediately. This was not a possible schedule for me to meet, and I did not want a "hurry up" job on electrical wiring. At this point, I am not comfortable with people from this company coming into my home again. We have always had great success from Angie's List coupons, and will use them again. This one has turned out to be the anomaly. I do not want to risk another no show appointment, or the technician not knowing how to do what we have agreed upon, or being told things will not work as I want, so I will need to purchase a much more extensive package from them. I personally am not comfortable with the way this company has responded and do not want to risk them doing any work. I have given them a C. While I believe our experience was not that high a grade, the company has not performed any work, and it would be unfair at this point to grade lower.

Description of Work: Upgraded an inactive alarm system. Showed up on time and we are well pleased. There were no surprises and we were not pushed to buy extra services.

Description of Work: Installed and activated my Alarm System for me. They also installed an extra keypad in our bedroom, since the one that the house came with was way down the hall. Also they installed a motion sensor to cover the whole house. The whole job took about 45 minutes.
