About 2 years ago when we bought our current house (built in 1952), we had a "handyman" that was recommended by our realtor do some work---he was a hack. One of the jobs he "did" was put in an exhaust fan in the bathroom. This required adding an additional switch in the wall. Fast Forward 2 years----> My wife tells me she thinks she is being shocked by the screw on switch plate cover. (!) The tech came out and within about 7 minutes had it figured out: the "hack" had wired the new switch's ground into the old switch. Dangerous. The tech fixed the problem quickly and explained what he was fixing. Plus, he took a look at our old inside breaker box and offered some advice.

The supervisor got a good feel for the job on the phone. He sent the right person. He wasn't a master electrician, but I certainly did not need that. K.C. examined my attempt at installing the first track, and found the problem. I had a converter to low voltage coming into the lines I was attaching the track lighting too. He was able to rewire around the converters in both locations without problems. He put up two L-shaped tracks on either end of the office, tested the lights, and even swapped out my light switch. Although he looked a bit different with some tattoos and a piercing, he was very respectful, courteous, and a good electrician. When I saw a slight problem in the installation of one track, he backed it out and corrected without worry. When he was done, I asked about the cost (as I was in a rush to get the job done and had not asked for any estimates). The electrician said if I wasn't moving in 30 days, they'd mail a bill. They did, it was reasonable and I am satisfied. I will call Max Bolen Electric again the next time I need work done.

Went very well. Derrick found the problem right away and corrected it in short order. He also checked all receptacles to insure proper installation and protection. Very satisfied with the whole operation from start to finish.

Derek called back promptly and scheduled a first visit. He showed up on time and explained to my wife and myself (on the phone from the office) what he recommended. He replaced the ground fault switch then and scheduled a time for a second visit to replace the pool pump circuit. On the second call he was right on time and didn't just replace the switch, he made changes that brought it up to code. Everything is working well. I would definitely use them again!

They came on time and they were very easy to work with. They did do quality work and I would probably use them again for another project, and I feel that the price was reasonable.

I found them to be very honest and forthright. I appreciated that they were honest and had me check a few things before they came out so they could try to avoid it if it were something easy to fix. We appreciated their professionalism.

He will be the first electrician I call for future work.

I've used Bolen several times before on everything from a main breaker box replacement to installing lighting fixtures. This trip I only needed to have a new outlet installed with a dedicated electrical line to service some audio/video equipment. After calling and leaving a message, someone called my back within a couple of hours and we set up a day/time for someone to come out the next week. The guys came out right on time and did the work quickly and efficiently.

They installed some extra outlets and fixed a light that was not burning. They also replace a conduit.

After a dispute with another electrical company over work being done incorrectly, Derrick, the electrician who came out, was able to figure everything out and clean up their mess. He did it more quickly than I or my husband imagined and my husband's a handyman. He was able to add a light fixture with very little tearing of the wall. He was just amazing. His prices were extremely fair and he came came out pretty quickly when we called. He's very good about cleaning up other companies messes but he does an excellent job planning new work to be done as well. We have had him back multiple times back for new projects we wanted to have done. He's always able to come out evaluate the situation and let you know whether or not something is possible. If he's not able to do it, he explains why and offers alternative ways to accomplish what you want. He's really good at helping you plan a new job and figuring out how to attack it. He is truly a master electrician and is invaluable.
