Overall it went well and they identified all the problems. It took a while to get it scheduled because they were backlogged.
Description of Work: It was a Big Deal for $99 Sprinkler Tune-Up and Inspection. They also repaired some sprinkler heads and the back-flow valve that was leaking.

[member name removed], Thank you for the feedback, we value it even when we are not happy with it. My apologies for your feeling like you did not get your money's worth. All I can say is that we are guilty as charged. Our advertisement, here on Angie's, states clearly that no repairs are involved and that should be interpreted as; there being no repairs involved. The service that you chose to purchase spells out that we will adjust heads and nozzles and then set the controller followed by our sending a damage report should be understood to do exactly that. We did exactly what the service you purchased said we would do. As far as the price goes, I am not sure how we could do it for anything less but am very happy to give you the opportunity to help me resolve this problem right now: State law and code says that the contractor I send to your house must be fully licensed (an irrigation license) and insured (we carry two million dollars of general liability as well as an umbrella coverage for another million, in addition to workers comp because we value our employees). The average irrigation contractor in our state gets paid between $15 and $30 per hour. The truck that we send for a service like this is fully stocked with irrigation tools and equipment and is also insured. Houston is a pretty big city and gas is not cheap. Driving to your location takes both time and money. The reality is that it took 40 minutes to drive to your house somewhere in Montgomery and you had to hand-write directions because it was not on a map or GPS). Also note that you also asked us to consider repairing your neighbor's system while on site and I told my tech that if it was something simple to go ahead and knock it out at no additional charge to you or your neighbor; that's just the way we do things here). I will take you at your word that it took my tech 30 minutes to complete the tune-up. I now have 70 minutes of time that I have to pay a licensed contractor (not counting the driving time it took him to return to the mapped world), in addition to the gas, tolls, liability insurance, worker's comp and auto insurance. Once the service is complete we have the paperwork dropped off at the office at the end of the day, processed the following day by an office manager that also earns a paycheck and then sent out in the form of an estimate the day after that by me because I insist on seeing every single proposal or contract that leaves my company so as to be personally accountable for all business. That sums up what your $99.00 got you. I am open, honest and transparent enough to share that the company makes about $20 in this case. I am also open to changing the pricing or the process if you have any ideas. $99 for that seems very fair to me. The expectation of getting repairs from a service that says "no repairs included" seems a little unreasonable to me but I could certainly be wrong.

The differences between Taylor Irrigation's work and other providers were evident from the first site visit. My wife and I moved into our house in April of last year, and we watched somewhat helplessly as the merciless summer sun roasted much of our grass to a charred brown color. To avoid a similar fate this year, we brought out several top-rated providers to survey the property and give us quotes for an automatic sprinkler system. John Taylor, the owner, met me at the house and spent an hour describing the features and functions of his unique system. Full details are available on the company's website, but in a nutshell, John's system uses a combination of smart sensors, more efficient sprinkler heads, and a RainBird control panel to first determine exactly how much water should be delivered to each square inch of lawn, then ensure that these needs are met in a way that keeps the lawn healthy while promoting deeper root growth to increase the future resilience of the lawn to hot weather. I work in the oil industry, and we use a lot of water when we drill oil wells and hydraulically fracture them. I was interested to discover that our water use comprises less than 1% of the total water used in the US, while about 5% is used just by home irrigation (other home uses account for another 4%, with irrigation for agriculture consuming about 37%). With this in mind, John's business model is designed to conserve as much water as possible, and I'm convinced that he does it. Following the installation (more on that later), John completed a walkthrough of the system with me, turning on each zone in turn so I could see the system in action. He claimed that no water would collect in the system and spill onto the sidewalk or street, and that the sprinklers themselves would not waste water irrigating asphalt. After having this system in the ground for about a month, I can confirm that there is not a drop wasted. Several of my neighbors' systems seem to spray more water into the street than into their lawns, but there is not a single wet spot from my system on my driveway, sidewalk, or street. This is of course good for the environment in that the system draws less fresh water to do its job, but it has the direct effect of lowering my monthly water bills, which I was concerned with, considering that the period in Houston when irrigation is required can be eight months long. Every aspect of the install went smoothly, from the initial survey and consultation with John to the arrival of his team and the actual performance of the work itself. Four weeks later, it is difficult to see any trenches that John's crew dug, and most have already healed completely. The lawn is definitely fuller and greener already. John has returned once to take soil samples and recalibrate the computer, not because of any problem but because a five-visit maintenance plan (once per season and twice in summer) is included in the system purchase that involves a technician visit to ensure that the system is accurately tracking the condition of the lawn and providing the right amount of water. John's system quoted about 25% higher than his competitors, but to me at least the difference in quality is worth the increased cost. During the initial consult, John explained where he would put sprinkler heads and why, and that combined with the post-install visits gives me a greater sense of confidence about this system and Taylor Irrigation's dedication to keeping it functioning efficiently and effectively. Overall, I've had a great experience with Taylor Irrigation Services. I've already recommended it to several friends shopping for a home sprinkler system, and would gladly do so to anyone.
Description of Work: John's team performed a site assessment of my home then installed a smart irrigation system to cover my lawn, trees, and flowerbeds.

The owner, Mr. John Taylor, is an exceptional person. He answers all of your emails and knows every aspect of your appointment. He and his men communicate very effectively and they get the job done on time and with no hidden charges. I would recommend this business to everyone needing assistance with their lawn sprinkler irrigation system. They are well trained, knowledgeable. Their tech, Brain Saludis, is easy going, knowledgeable and easy to work with.

Initially it was 1-1/2 weeks to get out to my property to fix the sprinklers - they gave me 3 possible days that they might be able to make it out. I told them in an e-mail that the property address to be serviced was different from my billing address. I got with my tenants to find out which day(s) worked best for them. I relayed that information to Taylor Irrigation and on 4/21, we tentatively scheduled a date of 4/23 pending a swapping of appointments with another client. I did not hear back from Taylor until 1:30 PM on 4/21 when they called to say they were at the incorrect address and nobody was home. I told them no one ever confirmed an appointment time with me and that they were at the wrong house. At this point, they called me back and said it would be 2 weeks before they could get me back on the schedule. That wasn't acceptable to me so I requested a refund.

Response from ZODEGA-TIS
Client, I suppose perspective is everything. Looking at our message history here on the Angie's List message center I make the following notes: On 4/14 you were scheduled for a tune up. That appointment was set for mid day on Wednesday the 23rd. On the evening of Monday, the 21st, you messaged to say that your tenants would not be there at the scheduled time and asked if we could move the scheduled appointment to later in the day, to Tuesday (which was the following morning) or Thursday. I told you that we could try but that I could not make any promises. Wednesday came and we were unable to get anyone to flip flop with you (our other clients are very generous but they have their own lives and schedules to keep) and so I told the tech to stop by the property and be sure no one was around (on the off chance we caught someone). The tech did go to the other address first (the address listed on Angie's as your service address) but I am not sure how that factors in here because your client was unavailable at either address at the time of your scheduled appointment. I would submit that this could have been remedied easier on your end than on mine: 1) When you agree to a day and time, be ready on that day and time or be prepared to move into whatever slot we have available for you rather than the slot that you prefer. We serve a great many Angie's List clients and I cannot move ten of them (and deal with ten unhappy clients) so that you can have one of their time slots. because of poor planning on your part. We have plenty of clients that have to cancel for a great many reasons and they do not seem to have a problem getting back onto the schedule wherever they can. If the cancellation was our fault then we would have certainly found a way to get you taken care of immediately but this was a result of your tenant not being available. 2) Call first. If you do not know if this is the service for you or what the wait time is then grab the phone, call and ask. That way if you are unhappy with the wait you can move to a company that does not have a wait. While I never like seeing a customer unhappy I think these sorts of issues are great opportunities to communicate and share information with potential clients. I would encourage all Angie's List clients to call any company/contractor before blindly purchasing a service here on Angie's List. 1) Make sure that the service is what you need (we got a poor grade last week from a client that purchased a state inspection but needed a repair). 2) Make sure you understand what the service covers (we refunded a client two weeks ago because he was disappointed that the tune-up only covered adjusting the heads, nozzles and the controller... which is exactly what the tune-up coupon says it does. He wanted risers lowered and a leak repaired). 3) Make sure that the company/contractor services your area (while we perform repairs in Katy, for example, we do not install systems in Katy). 4) Make sure that the company/contractor can meet your scheduling needs (while we would love to meet everyone's scheduling needs we just can't and it is not a result of not caring, poor planning or needing more staff but rather it is the fact that there is a mad rush for irrigation services every spring and there is going to be a wait for any reputable company during that period. Everyone loves Chick-Fil-A and at 11:30 am it is tough to get through the drive through; not because they do not care, not because they are insensitive to your schedule but because it is lunch time and a lot of people want to eat. As the customer you can certainly take your money elsewhere but if you like their product you will have to wait in line to receive it... just like everyone else). Please keep in mind that with sites like Angie's, we do not get to choose our clients... they choose us. We are not a good fit for every client and we are NOT trying to be a good fit for every client. There are clients that do not care about code, for example, clients that want the cheapest contractor available, clients that are just plain difficult and we cannot take them all. Most businesses get to choose their clients either directly (a lawyer picks his clients) or indirectly (a restaurant chooses its client base by setting a price point, location, dress code, atmosphere, etc). When we work through Angie's we are forced to take a client, like it or not, and that is not always an easy thing to do and we are not always a match. Keep in mind that irrigation is not landscape. Landscape is 95% aesthetic and requires a considerable amount of input from the client. What makes one client happy will not make the next client happy. Irrigation is 99% code, hydraulics, evapotranspiration and other mathematical formulas. I am one of five designers in the Unites States who has won the EPA Partner of the Year Award. My company and our system has been featured in Lawn & Landscape magazine, Landscape Management magazine and Angie's List magazine. You do not want a "yes man" for irrigation else it could result in lost landscape, inflated water bills (the average acre of landscape in our state is over-watered by almost 300%), high maintenance bills and even health issues (backflow protects your tap water from contaminants on the lawn and is not installed or not installed properly on 50% of the properties we visit). Just because a contractor is licensed does not mean he knows what he is doing anymore than a driver having a drivers license means that they are a good at driving. We are closing in on 100 ratings and we will hit well over ninety "straight A report cards", a few "B report cards" and few "D or F report cards." I trust the savvy client can figure out what that means. Last, I will add that we have taken a few lumps since offering a coupon for a small, cheaper service and this very coupon has led to all but one or two of our bad reviews. I think we have learned that in trying to provide value to Angie's clients we have opened the door to something else; being thought of as a cheaper company providing cheaper services and this has attracted a client base that is not ours. If you are looking for quality then you will not be able to beat what we do at Taylor Irrigation Service. That may mean a wait in line but we think you will find that it is worth it. John A. Taylor

Response from ZODEGA-TIS
[Member name removed], My sincerest apologies for not being able to schedule an appointment. This time of year we take around 125 calls per day, another 40 to 50 emails and a few dozen text messages requesting estimates and service. This is not a result of Taylor Irrigation Service being popular but rather the rush for irrigation services that comes each and every spring in all twenty years I have been in the industry. We cannot take every job when this happens because we just don't have the manpower. We cannot hire more staff because irrigation contractors are highly skilled and licensed workers (it is not only a code violation to work without an irrigation license within the state of Texas, two years ago HB2507 was passed into law making it a class C misdemeanor punishable by jail because it is so rampant within my industry) and licensed workers that average 40k to 50k do not take a position just for the spring. So, every year most larger irrigation companies deal with this issue and it does not sit well with me either. In fact, I hate it and would love to find a way to resolve it. If you have something I am certainly open to it. I assure you that I am driven, as much as anyone, to provide top notch service and would say this is akin to Christmas shopping each year. The big box store may have the television set you want at the right price but there will be very long lines and often you will find that the product you want is not available. This is not a result of poor planning but rather a madness that occurs once per year no matter how prepared the big box store may be. Also note that we have no way of screening Angie's clients either. When a client finds us on Angie's List we are kind of forced to proceed regardless. Contrary to popular belief we do not want every client and all business. We are a highly specialized company in that we install LEED certified, EPA WaterSense endorsed systems that use a minimum of 25% less water than traditional systems but cost about 30% to 40% more than traditional systems to install. As a designer I won the 2013 EPA Partner of the Year Award (only the 5th irrigation designer in the U.S. to ever win this award) for this very system and we are the only company offering it because we designed it. Because of this, when a client finds our company and requests an install estimate, we always get an email address and send some initial information about our system; how it is different and the additional costs (we are always up front about this). If I had a nickle for every time I showed up to a client's house and heard, "your estimate is 30% higher than the other companies," even though we sent out that information before scheduling, I would be able to retire from irrigation tomorrow. It means we get a lot of clients that do not read the information we send and are simply shopping around for the cheapest system available which is not what we do. Because our estimates are free and we drive all of the way to Magnolia, Katy, or Missouri City, it means a great deal of wasted time and money. Again, I would love a way to resolve this but I am just not sure how to do it. I am open to lunch one day, on my dime, to hear your thoughts. I see that we followed up on your Angie's List message center request with that initial information and then did not get you scheduled. Your appointment appears to have been lost in the madness that is Spring. All I can do is say honestly that we will pass on a great many appointments in the Spring, not because we do not care, but because we have to. Where we can get better is in following up with the appointments that we have to pass on (so at least you know and are not waiting for a response) but, in my experience, those clients are not happy either and we come away with a black eye regardless. I tell clients all of the time not to wait for the spring to get irrigation service. I know that this does not change anything about your personal experience but I hope that this information resonates with some potential clients (clients that should absolutely come to us and clients that should not). If in reading this you are still interested in a system then shoot me an email and I will put you onto my personal schedule. I hate the grade we received but understand and please know that your feedback is never lost on us, even when it is bad. John A. Taylor

I chose this vendor based on the Angie's list reviews. It was one review in particular, however, that gave me confidence in the vendor -- an unhappy customer. The vendor replied to that customer in great detail and depth on Angie's List in a way that showed professionalism, integrity, and character. When I choose a (high ranked) vendor I am always optimistic that the work will be done well and the price will be fair, but the thing that is hard to measure is how a vendor will perform when things don't go as expected (because in my experience there's often some sort of curveball that comes up on a project). Well, I wasn't disappointed in my choice. John Taylor communicated superbly, the crews were punctual and efficient, and the work truly exceeded my expectations. There was a curveball, but it was handled well. We expanded the scope of our initial engagement and are continuing to work with the vendor. I recommend Taylor Irrigation without hesitation.

(remove member name), Thank you for the kind words and for the review. Thank you, especially, for sharing what you shared about our recent poor review, how we handled it and what it meant to you. I would like to share a few things here that I (we) learned from you and how you inspired my company to make a change. Our first three years, here on Angie's List, we had never received anything less than an A. Not once... ever! I am a perfectionist and was very proud of that. Keeping that standard is a full-time job all on its own and because I cared so much about what each and every member thought, said and shared, I found myself catering to every client, even when the client was wrong. That may sound good but in the irrigation industry code and mathematical equation dictate 99% of everything we do. There are homeowners and clients that do not know or care what code dictates and as Angie's List really took off we found many clients using Angie's reviews as a weapon rather than a tool. There were times that we would bend rules by skirting code (I am shamed to admit) simply to keep the homeowner happy even if we knew it to be wrong. Do not misunderstand, most homeowners are not like this but there are certainly a handful that are. I realized that in an effort to provide outstanding service my company was allowing the client to dictate what that was and that is NOT how we built our name, brand or reputation. We were letting a few bad apples change the way we do business and this was starting to hurt the way we interacted with our core client; folks like you. After you and I almost having a misunderstanding, I called my Angie's List representative and walked her through what we were experiencing and she made it really simple for me. She said that I cared too much about the grades and simply needed to get back to providing the outstanding customer service that put us on the map and that along the way we would get some bad reviews but that the right clients would understand that. Would see past that. She was right and your email to me (and then our subsequent conversations) made me call and all-hands meeting and cover this with my staff. We will not let a few bad apples or the client that wants to use Angie's as a weapon rather than a tool, hurt the way we provide service to anyone else. We will deal with those clients the best we can and we will accept the fact that we are not geared toward serving all clients. So whether you know it or not, your strong communication and honesty played a prominent role in helping us become a better company and we certainly appreciate that. Thank you again for the review.

Taylor preforms this test at their convenience without the need of homeowner being present. I had a leak and wanted repairs as well. Response from ZODEGA-TIS
[removed member name], My apologies for any misunderstandings concerning this. You purchased a state backflow inspection here on Angie's List which amounts to hooking a little device up to your backflow to ensure that it is working properly, making sure that it is installed up to code and then sending the results of the test to your local municipality. That service has nothing to do with leaks or repairs of any kind. Those devices, in accordance with state law an code, have to be inspected when they are installed, repaired or relocated (and annually thereafter on commercial properties). So when you made that purchase, you were put onto the inspection schedule which is usually about two days out and does not require anything from the homeowner (like reading the water meter at your house does not require the homeowner's presence or input). My office manager, to her credit, caught this error and advised you to submit a refund request to Angie's because it would be waste of your money given the issue you were having with the leaking. Had she not caught this then you would have paid $75 for a service that you did not need and would still need repairs. I hope you see this as our looking out for your bottom dollar because I feel strongly that there are a great many companies out there that simply would have performed the inspection and collected your money. As I have said to many other homeowners here on Angie's, the spring time brings a mad rush for irrigation services and top companies, like mine, can take 100 to 125 calls per day and to be fair and to provide quality customer service we have to take those calls in a first-come first-served manner. There are three other highly rated Angie's contractors sending all of their calls our way right now because of that spring rush. We do the best we can and we are certainly sorry for the line. Feel free to give us a call once we are out of the spring and we will give you a seasonal tune-up at no cost whatsoever to you. Thanks for the feedback, it is never lost on us.

I called the number on Angie's list for Taylor Irrigation. It went to voice mail and John Taylor requested I leave a message, which I did. Several days later he called back. He said he was very busy, which is understandable in the spring of the year. He said he could probably do the work on Thursday, April 10. He also requested I contact him in the future via email and include a description of work needed. I sent the email with description on Thursday, April 3. The job was not huge since I have an existing system, just needed a tune up on some heads and relocation of a few others. He replied back on Monday, April 7 to ask if I needed an estimate or just send a tech to start work. I replied the same day and asked him to send the tech and to confirm date and time. It is now May 8 and I have not heard a word. No emails and no phone calls. Contact with customers is vital to a successful business. With all the good reviews on Angie's List, I guess he is too successful. Maybe he should hire someone to book appointments and answer phones?

[Member name removed], Good day, we certainly appreciate the feedback as well as the advice. Your insinuation that I am too busy or too successful to return your calls is inappropriate and it comes across as your using Angie's List as a weapon rather than a tool. I personally made the decision to cut your project loose because of your email to me explaining that you were an engineer and had expertise understanding these systems and how they work. That is a red flag for us. We work with multiple licenses and in accordance with state code rather than some sort of broad engineering background. We take on as many as 125 phone calls per day during the spring because there is a mad rush for irrigation services this time of year, every year. We do our best to prep for it but we will be unable to take on every job that comes our way when the spring comes. It is really that simple. You may have to wait in line at a popular restaurant and it is certainly up to you, as the customer, to decide if that line is worth waiting in or not. I disagree with the assessment than there being a line is indicative of poor customer service. I also disagree with your assessment that I need to hire more staff because of your personal experience. To prove our customer service efforts and response time; any Angie's member that reads this review and worries that Taylor Irrigation Service may not return your call in a timely manner (Angie's List considers that two business days, we consider it one), please give us a call today and if your call is not returned within this time frame (one to two business days which Angie's defines as the standard) then we will provide a seasonal tune up for you at no cost whatsoever. You will find that this client's experience is a result of this client's communication style rather than a problem with our business model or internal systems. Again, thank you for your feedback, we will certainly take all of your engineering input under advisement. John A. Taylor

We have had other sprinkler repairmen out to our house and based upon past experiences, we really didn't want to have to call them out again, due to the prices that we had been charged. After doing some research on Angie's List, we decided to give Taylor Irrigation a call. Setting up the appointment was easy. The technician came out, ahead of the scheduled time. The appointment took less than an hour. We were very pleased with the service as well as the price. We will definately use them again in the future.
Description of Work: We were having trouble getting our sprinkler system going after the winter. Taylor Irrigation came out and corrected the problem. They also fixed some piping that was cracked and changed out a sprinkler head.

Mr. Taylor and Brian were excellent to work with. They addressed all my questions and provided very timely service and exhibited true professionalism. I am very happy to have found a company where customer service is still very much valued in today's world. Thanks so much Taylor Irrigation Service!

Went pretty well. I did notice that one of the pop-up heads was just layer on top of the ground and not buried. One head was left pointing straight towards the ground. But hey, out of all the heads I have, most of they are spot on now.
Description of Work: Added some heads. Moved some heads. Basically, they helped me stop watering my driveway and fence.

[member name removed], I appreciate the feedback and sincerely apologize for your experience. Though a "B" grade may be some measure of success for other companies, it is unacceptable for mine. Quality is not our goal, it is our standard. I do not show lowering heads on the scope of work that you approved and any changes to that scope would need to be communicated clearly else we are not in position to meet your needs. Sometimes these are matters of code (state code dictates where heads can and cannot be located, how high they can be installed, etc) and other times the height of the head (a head above ground for example) could be dictated by the landscape (if a tall or dense shrub were planted directly in front of a head buried at grade it may impede the spray of the head which would be detrimental to all of the other plants the heads is meant to water) so there are many reasons a head may be above grade, especially in a planting bed. Having said all of that, if there is a head pointed straight into the ground, that certainly sounds like something we should have taken care of. Because this is the first I have ever heard of this I would like to put you onto my personal schedule to take a look at the heads in question so that I can share what I think and take whatever corrective action may be needed at no cost whatsoever to you. All invoices that we send out include a personal note from me saying that I am always available for any questions or issues and I really mean that but, like I said, this is the first I have heard of this. I am not going to say that my company will never make a mistake but if and when we do we will ALWAYS correct it in a timely manner and at no cost to the client but this is only possible if we are aware of it. Look for and mail from me scheduling a walk thru of your site. Thanks again for your feedback. John A. Taylor

Quickly responded to inquiries, showed up on time. Reviewed all the potential causes of the problem and explained in detail how the system was working. Located rain sensor in a very treed area of the yard (impressive John found it so quickly) and fixed the issue immediately. Great work!

[member name removed], It was my pleasure personally serving you. When I heard you explain the issue you were having with your system, I put you onto my personal schedule because the problem that you described (no zones turning on after they recently worked fine) is usually something really small and by stopping by, on my own rather than sending technician, I am able to pass a great deal of savings along to you rather than simply charging you for a full hour of labor for something that only took a few minutes. I would much rather build an honest relationship with you than take $90 that we did not earn. Thanks again for the feedback and please let me know if you need anything else from us. John A. Taylor

Tech was done rather fast. When he was finished I had to point out one of the beds where the heads where not spraying correctly and he noted it and offered to get an estimate to correct. After getting my estimate I emailed back to see about if any discount could be offered or if he could reduce any from the overall price based on the inspection already paid. I never got any response to that email hence my grading responsiveness as a C. I eventually had all the work from the estimate done by a competitor for similar price.

[Member Name], My apologies for your being unhappy with our service. I have read what you had to say in your email to me and here is the way I see it: We feel that the "B" grade you have given is certainly in the ballpark all things considered and we would rate you, as a client, at about a "C minus" or a "D" You purchased a $69 tune-up that is clearly defined as adjusting heads, adjusting nozzles, adjusting the controller and reporting damage on site. Yes, this is a pretty quick service. All of my technicians are fully licensed irrigation contractors with a great deal of experience. The technician was absolutely correct to refuse to replace nozzles in your bed as he was there for the tune-up and nothing more. There was no need to point it out to him, he logged it onto the report that you were subsequently emailed. He did not repair it because repairing nozzles is not a part of our tune-up package. Please take another look at the tune-up coupon that you chose to see what is covered and what is not. Not repairing damage during the tune-up is important for a number of reasons. First and foremost because a report should be sent that records the damage found. This protects both the homeowner as well as the contractor as it gives us a current record of the system. Next, repairing on site does not allow my company to send a proper scope, estimate or warranty information. Those things are very important to the contractor as well as the client so that scopes of work and expectations are clearly defined. Last, because we schedule a great many tune-ups each and every day (we have had days where we sell more than 20) we need a clear and concise description of the work to be performed so we know how long we will spend on each site. If we stay on one site for repairs that are not covered by a tune-up then we have no way to gauge when we will be available to serve the next Angie's member. One member may only want nozzles replaced (which was the case here) but the next may need a valve replaced which could take hours. To respect all of our clients' time, it is our policy to perform tune-up work during tune-ups and to perform repair work when service calls are requested. Again, our tune-up stresses that the tune-up will not cover repairs and these are some of the reasons for it. I did receive your request for a discount on the estimate we provided for the damage found on your site. You explained in your email, just as you did here, that you felt that since you spent $69.00 on a tune-up that you should receive a discount for repairs as well. I have to say that I was pretty puzzled by that entire concept. I am not sure how purchasing a service at a significant discount entitles you to another significant discount on repairs that we are not offering. The best analogy I can give is that I took my truck in for an oil change last week because the NTB by me was running a special on synthetic oil and I saved $20. The bill was under $50. I would not dream of asking them to align the front end of the truck because I had just spent $49.00 with them. I am not saying it is wrong, I am just saying that I would not do it. My apologies for falling short of your extra discount requests but it is just not how we do business. We wish you well with future projects. John A. Taylor P.S. My office manager feels that this is a bit of a snarky response. Indeed, now that I think about it, I agree... but I stand by it for this reason; there is a client that we cater to and I believe that client will understand this situation and my response.

Mr. Taylor and his technician, Brian, were excellent and respectful of my time. The work was performed in a timely manner, and though it is only been a couple of days, it appears that everything seems to be running perfectly. I would definitely recommend Taylor Irrigation and will use them again in the future.
