On August 21, 2008 we were notified that installation was complete and ready for testing. A meeting was scheduled with TriStar representative and board members of the homeowners association on August 25, 2008. The LPR cameras did not perform successfully and were not capable of reading any license plates, even those of cars parked directly under the cameras. The TriStar representative said that the cameras were probably out of adjustment and that he would have them adjusted. He agreed that we would hold the remaining half of the contract balance ($3849.36) until the cameras were working properly. Since that time there have been numerous calls & emails in an attempt to get TriStar to solve this problem, to no avail. They have scheduled several appointment and then failed to keep them. In October, the CPU went off and could not be restarted. Again TriStar was called and asked to come out and see what the problem was. In November, after several calls, they finally came out and removed the CPU unit, stating that it had failed and that they would replace it. To date, the unit has not been returned. The cameras have never been adjusted and the CPU is now in TriStar's possession. We have written them a certified letter, demanding that they return our down payment since more than 6 months have gone by and we have worthless cameras and it's obvious they are not going to finish this job or return the CPU. So far they have not responded. It looks like we will have to take them to court to get this situation resolved.

It was a great experience from start to finish. The guys showed up promptly on the dot when they said they'd be there. They were courteous, knowledgeable and tidy in the workspace as well as respectful of my home. They suggested a battery back up for my system as well and installed it for me no charge. They also provide a maintenance warranty for free with your camera installation.
Description of Work: TriStar installed a surveillance system for me in my home. Two CC video cameras, along with the monitor and DVR recorder.
