FRESH START LANDSCAPES

Dough is very knowledgeable about plants and creative with his designs. He arrived on time for giving me a quote and gave me a printed estimate before he left. We agreed on a date to begin work and after calling me arrived a day early. It took 3 days to complete and the crew was always punctual, respectful and such hard workers. They were careful to recycle plants that they could save and always willing to change something at my request. We decided on the 2nd day we wanted landscape lighting put in,no worries Doug planned it out and had all the equipment ready for the next day. Very organized , professional and such a nice person to deal with. It was a good and fun experience and I have arranged for them to come back and put in another water feature !

I cannot rate the company as I have not had them perform any landscaping.

They were very responsive to the type of things that we asked for. They used some sub contractors who weren?t really involved in the planning and there were some discrepancies when they got through. However, they came back and corrected everything. The quality of their service was excellent and I would use their services in the future too.

We love the results. We actually sit on the back patio and enjoy just looking at it. Doug and Penny were prompt and professional. All calls were returned, appointments where kept, and the crew was outstanding. The whole experience was terrific. The crew seemed to be guys who really cared about making it a good job and knew what they were doing, as compared to the day laborers so many companies use. The crew was prompt, cleaned up as they went, and very hard-working. I can't believe how quickly they transformed the place. Doug made a point of stopping by to check on the work and was very flexible when I wanted to add a few items to the work. They were not the cheapest bidder, but I definitely think they were worth every penny for the quality job they did.

Doug and Cricket were great - very cordial, professional, and knowledgeable. We covered what we wanted, and they drew up a plan that fit what we were asking for, but included their own expertise. We liked their plan better and were happy with them. UPDATE: We chose Fresh Start to complete the job, based largely on Doug's professionalism and knowledge. We had several quotes over a period of time, and the Fresh Start bid was in line with the others, with a superior level of professionalism. The crew worked quickly and diligently, and performed to a high degree of skill. The flagstone they used was large and thick - very high quality - and they poured a steel-reinforced concrete base to make sure the walkway looks nice for a long time. They were able to complete the needed sprinkler system modifications resulting from the change in design, and even put up a little fencing that we requested to hide our trashcan. Doug was quite agreeable to little tweaks to the plan that we decided were preferable once we got into the project. The ultimate test of quality - Fresh Start has gotten at least two more jobs from neighbors who were impressed with our new look!

He was very nice and professional, he took the time to listen to what I wanted. It was just a little more than I wanted to spend. I will keep them in mind for anyone looking for similar services.

They were responsive. The landscaping person was thorough and timely in his response. We haven?t talked to them after getting the initial estimate. They didn?t strike me as professional as another company did. They didn?t do any work for us.

He actually came a bit early and had to wait for me to return from a doctors visit. He called and I described the location of the problem so he could have a look around first. He took some measurements and gave me several options.1) A quick fix that would not be very attractive but very functional. This would not address any of the underlying drainage problem, but would simply be a trough to carry the water away when it rained, (And it rains a lot in Houston) 2) a proper fix consisting of removal of existing wood deck with underlying patio slab and overhang. Replace with properly graded paver patio - if drainage issues reappear, then pavers are easy to reposition, as opposed to any concrete slabs. He had a different idea of the direction the water should flow away from the house that many of the other landscape companies. He preferred to do it with proper sloping rather than underground drains, which is actually in line with what a P.E. had told me. I am still deciding what to do, but i would not hesitate to use him if I decided to go drainless.

He?s going to put in some shrubs, repair the sprinklers, and put in a little patio for us. I thought he was helpful with his suggestions and he was very open and honest and he tried to save us money. We were talking about crushed granite but he said we might want to think about that because it could come in on our shoes and scratch the wood floors. I appreciated his opinion because the other people that gave us bids went with anything we told them. He was knowledgeable and I got the impression that he is very trustworthy. We plan on using him in the future.

They have excellent ratings. They have been responsive, flexible, willing to work within my budget. They have made some adjustments due to my budget. I cannot tell whether I will be using them again in the future until they finish this work.

The job went good. They did what they said at the price they quoted. They were prompt and professional. I would use them again future.

Fresh Start was completely brilliant and fantastic from the beginning. Easy to work with, easy to schedule, easy to talk to and set up our stone choices, just plain no hassle as much as a project this big can be. We told Doug our problems with drainage, the patio, etc, and he presented a clean plan for our yard immediately along with an itemized plan and estimate. We pretty much knew before he'd even completed discussing the estimate that we wanted to go with Fresh Start; not only were they the most professional of all the landscapers we interviewed, they also didn't give us grief about our yard being accessable only from inside the house and removing the patio. I thought we were in for a nightmare from the other "landscapers" we'd spoken to. The guys were courteous, quick, professional, cleaned up after themselves, ran a very tight ship, and did I mention they were quick? Fresh Start estimated three days to remake our entire back yard. We received four other estimates before finding Fresh Start, the shortest of which was for a week to remake our yard, the longest wanted two weeks!! Fresh Start probably would have been done in two days had it not rained. I also feel the price was right with Fresh Start. I think this is in part because they knew what they were doing, knew what it takes to complete a project like ours, compared with the other landscapers we'd talked to. To go from our disaster before to this in three days, we're at a loss for what to do next. We got exactly what we wanted and can't wait to use our back yard now.

Outstanding!! Doug's advise on the designs was superb and exceeds our expectations. His crew was very professional and worked with us. Lots of work was performed. A great disruption to our normal, quiet days/ evenings. But a most pleasant, worthy experience given Doug and Crickett's congenial way of handling business and the diligence and patience of their workers.

This was a job very well done. Freshstart understood the requirement for a basic landscape and prepared a design that matched the intention and blended well with neighbor's new landscape to maintain consistency of the look of the area. Project had to be postponed due to neighbor's foundation problems but price did not change. On the agreed day, laborers arrived promptly and finished the same day. The front yard looks better than ever and plants are now growing and flowering as expected.

He supervised it and checked it the whole way.They went and got all of the materials. It was designed just like he said it would be. They cleaned up afterward, and it looks better than we had it before. It has lasted a whole year later. The flowers keep coming back and have withstood the pounding rains that we have.

It was wonderful working with Doug, Crickett, and their crew. They were exceptionally responsive to all of our requests and always willing to explain anything that we had a question about. Doug is exceptionally knowledgeable about all sorts of plants and did an excellent job designing the layout of the landscaping. We are unbelievably pleased.

Fresh Start came quickly and got here right before Thanksgiving, to do the work. They got the work done right away for me, as I wanted it ready prior to the holidays. All of the work was finished in 1 day and they had everything cleaned up well, when they left.
