Den was always getting smoky although I made sure the flu was open. Found Mrs. Squirrel in fireplace and then she ran thru house (even jumped on top of bedroom curtains - all this when I'm trying to get ready to go out New Year's Eve! This might qualify for a Walt Disney movie waiting to be made.) Tech inspected chimney and found where the squirrels chewed thru chimney cap and made nest inside chimney. Tech cleaned out chimney and repaired mortar but didn't have right size chimney cap on truck. Said he would be back in 2 days with new cap. In the mean time Mrs. Squirrel rebuilt nest (of course - what cold squirrel looking for a cozy winter nap wouldn't?). Tech came back out and installed new chimney cap and had to clean out chimney again. Overall good experience. Think prices were a little high. I also used them several years ago for basic inspection and was pleased.

We went to their store and selected the log set that we wanted. We had to go hope and measure our fireplace, so they let us call and give them the information. They came out in a few days and did a great job installing the logs.

They were punctual and did what was requested. He told me that I had no build up, but I was trying to be safe, it was a precautionary thing. I would have them back out if I needed.

They were conscientious, good people, who did a good job for us, and we're very satisfied. The screen they replaced is associated with the chimney cap, and it prevents birds and things from getting into the chimney. They were very knowledgeable about what they were doing, and on time. They came when they said they would. They did a high quality job. I would use them again.

The plumber came out first to give me a quote for running a gas line. He started the job a few days later. He had to remove sheet rock in the garage but did an outstanding job. I then went to The Fireplace Man to buy the gas logs. I was very disappointed when I learned that my fire box was too small for the logs that are on the market. I did not want to and quot;ripand quot; the existing unit out and start over, an option that was available but at an expense I was not willing to pay. I was visibly shaken when Brian presented with another option, glass. It was perfect! It comes in many color options and sizes or cuts. Thanks to Brian my problem was solved. The burner and glass were installed and measurements taken for a custom bronze and glass door. The completed project is more than I expected. An ugly fireplace became the jewel of the room. I could not be happier!!

Fireplace Man Inc. was prompt and clean when they showed up for the work. However, their prices were a little steeper than I would have liked.

A quote was given over the phone for cleaning the fireplace flue. Main office also said the technician would inspect the fireplace for overall condition and let me know if any further service may be required (no additional service was required). Technician was prompt and courteous and his dress was neat with a company shirt. He used a tarp (cover) to make sure floor and hearth remained clean while performing his work. The soot from the fireplace was more than usual according to him, however, the invoice was exactly as quoted. The area was left tidy and invoice and written report was given when technician completed the work. Even though this company was slightly higher after getting several over the phone quotes, they came across as professional and their physical address was closer to my neighborhood and this influenced my decision to use them. I am pleased with the work done and will use them again.

He arrived on time, was very professional, and performed the work without any mess. He assessed the condition on the fireplace and chimney and gave it a clean bill of health. He suggested some pointing of the mortar in places which we haven't had done yet.

Person answering phone told me upfront about the standard trip charge that was to be paid COD (trip charge is supposed to cover most common repairs). At first I was little put off that he wanted to tell me how much it would cost before really telling me about the services. But I think he just wanted to set the expecation before sending someone out. The repair person arrived on time, was very informative, and evaluated the fireplace. It was giong to be an expensive repair and I decided not to proceed. The person on the phone did warn be in advance that if the fireplace required new valves what the cost would be. For the cost of the visit, the repair person did replace some of the equipment, but that was not intended to fix the fireplace - just make it better in case I proceeded with the new valves. All in all, I would recommend this company; I don't have a lot of basis of comparison for what others might charge and their level of service so I relied on the Angie's list ratings (and length of time the company has been in business) in choosing to use them.

The the Fireplace Man crewmen were really nice and tried to save me a service charge by guiding me step by step over the phone. They were very professional and did what they could.

The technician was punctual and very knowledgeable. It took him about 30 minutes to complete the work and he cleaned up when he was done. He tested the fireplace and added lava rock and embers for a natural fire look overall and adjusted the flame and gas logs. I was pleased overall with the service and the technician being on time. The price seemed a little high, however, I feel it was worth it by not having to wait for hours for a technician to show up and he adjusted the fireplace until I was satisfied. I would use this company again.

The work was fine, but a bit expensive.

Scheduling appointment was no problem. Repairman called ahead of time to check if he could come early, which was fine. Repairman was polite, kind to our baby, and finished quickly.

Bad from start to finish. When the repairman left we could not get the fireplace to shut off.

I moved into this house and the gas company told me my gas fireplace was not working. I called Fireplace Man and two people came right on time (9am on Friday). It turned out to be the bad connection. They also patiently showed me how to use the fireplace since I never used it before.

All members of the team from the telephone call to the technician who cleaned my fireplace were courteous and professional. The service technician, Luis, arrived on time and quickly looked at my fireplace, then laid down a drop cloth over the wood floor and carpet near the hearth. He used a large vacuum cleaner to suction the debris as he scrubbed the inside of the chimney with a (wire?) brush. Before he started the process, I asked him if he would be able to remove the black soot that had accumulated in the chimney, but he told me that the powdery part would be removed, but the bricks would essentially remain black because of the years of use/accumulation. I thought he was going to use some chemical remover in addition to the scrub-down to remove the black build-up--but I hadn't asked that question when I called. Luis was efficient and left the area clean. He was in and out within 30 minutes. When I called, I had asked if they were going to clean the outside brick on our chimney, but that was not included in the cleaning. I was told that we would probably have to have the outside brick power washed. Luis visually inspected the chimney from the outside. I did not see him climb on a ladder to do a visual check. On his report, he recommended that we have a screen installed. (Years ago, my husband had placed chicken wire in the chimney to prevent "critters"--birds, bats, etc.--from settling inside our chimney.) This was the first time we had our fireplace cleaned. Since we rarely use our fireplace, I doubt that we will need the services of a chimney sweep in the future.

Great! I called on a Monday morning (in June, which I assume is off-season), and they offered to send someone out that afternoon. Luis cleaned the fireplace and inspected it, finding no problems. He left absolutely no mess in my house.

They arrived exactly on time. They did their job quickly and efficiently. They were careful not to make a mess, and did a through job of cleaning all parts of the fireplace and chimney (including the clean out box outside the house).

The install went very well. From the time he arrived and left maybe 30 minutes. The fireplace is awesome. Worth every penny.

I contacted them to see if they could clean and survey the state of my chimney as well as quote me to clean the exterior of the chimney. I was surprised to be told that the quote would cost $65.00 prepaid, but I paid it to get the survey done. A man arrived, surveyed the chimney and told me that the chimney needed no work but that the power washing would cost $1,200. I politely declined and I was surprised by this results given the rave reviews at Angie's list for this service provider. Later another service did the chimney wash for $125.

I paid $69.95 to have them come out to look at my fireplace and give me an estimate to return it to working order. I was told the fee (which would not apply to any work I had done) was due to gas prices, even though I am about 5 miles from their store. I accepted their bid of $2500 to rebuild the firebox. I was out of town when they completed the work and returned to find they had done a very sloppy job with the mortar on the firebrick. Also, they dumped the leftover sand on the front sidewalk. I became concerned about my chimney and called two different companies to look at it. Both came to the same conclusion; it was unstable and had to come down. Part of the problem was that the newly rebuilt firebox was not tied into the brick of the chimney. I was not entirely comfortable with The Fireplace Man from the beginning and should have followed my instincts. In the end, the entire chimney and rebuilt firebox was removed and I put in a gas unit.

I think they did as good of job as you would expect. The price was very affordable I thought. They were on time, so I had no problems at all.

I chose not to have him fix the crack in my chimney because I felt the estimate was too high for what needed to be done. He did call the day before he was supposed to come out to see if we could change the time, but I said no because the time he wanted to change the appointment to did not work with my schedule. He was very polite about it and said that was fine, we could just keep it as it was. He was right on schedule the next day.

Even though the Fireplace Man came a day earlier than we scheduled for, I guess I can't complain much. It really didn't inconvenience me and he did do a wonderful job for me. His clean up of the area was superb. I'll definitely use him again and you should too.
