Found a cracked tile in a hallway as I was getting my home ready for selling. Called around and he was the cheapest estimate. After a week of calling him several times, he eventually came out. The tile needing replacement meets carpet, installed a week before, so he gets down, puts a few fingers in the gap from the broken tile, grabs the carpet and yanks so hard it breaks the tack strip holding the carpet down. I am watching this with my own eyes when he says that it was already broken by the carpet install last week. WTH, I saw you break it. Then he says he can replace the tile for $300.00, double his original estimate. Then he adds in that he won't be responsible for breaking the surrounding tile, causing more damage and implying extra cost to replace the surrounding tiles that he himself breaks, again WTH? I should have thrown him out then, but he assures me he can “Fix the tile to where no one would notice”. Being on a tight schedule told him to do it. He puts down this awful smelling goop, which gets on the brand new carpet, and calls it good. A foot of carpet now wont stay down, which was working good from a vacuuming the night before and claims again that it was already broken once again. After the “Fix” anyone can see the “Repair” that he said no one would notice was glaring to anyone walking down the hallway.. At the beginning he quoted $100.00 , later when asked if that was a cash price, he said yes. After explaining I don’t carry cash, he jumped the price to $120.00 in order to take a check, thankfully he did. When my wife got home and saw the “repair” and the damage he caused to the carpet, she immediately put a stop payment on the check, not paying this guy to damage our home. He called 3 days ago and I told him it cost $60.00 to fix the carpet, if he wanted the $40.00 in cash that was left over he could have it, he never showed up. Read the other reviews, wish I had, this is a pattern with him.
