Steve Finley came out to compete for a job at my home regarding the failure of my geothermal Air Conditioning Unit which put the tenants in my Houston Rental without Air Conditioning during the tail end of a very hot summer. Steve provided the most conscientious estimate considering my needs. His price was also the highest, and considerably higher than all other estimates. When I looked into the matter, Air Tech was providing me a 5 ton unit that would barely fit in my closet, with a 10 year warranty manufactured out of industry leading materials; where the leading competitor was offering a 3.5 ton unit with a 3 year warranty with the cheapest possible compliant materials, and the leading competitor refused to consider installation of any other unit for my closet claiming that it was not possible for a 5 ton unit to fit. Of course, paying over $13,000 for an AC unit is hard to digest, so I asked for and received a courtesy discount. Boy am I glad that I chose Air Tech, and I'm glad that they provided the discount. When the initial unit arrived it wouldn't fit in my closet without turning the unit sideways because of a valve on top of a building supply line that interfered with the installation. Rather than install the unit sideways, which would have made it nearly impossible to access for maintenance, AIR TECH attempted to get permission from the building engineer in order to re-orient the valve. My condo association denied the permission, so AIR TECH, put in a RUSH order on a Brand new unit of Better quality that had to be custom manufactured for my space. Air Tech paid for the RUSH fee as well as gave me the better quality model which was custom designed at the vendor factory at the original agreed price. I give them an A on price for this reason. Despite Air Tech's accommodation, my tenants were very unhappy to go about 2 additional weeks without Air Conditioning so Air Tech provided them with portable units to hold them over until the job could be completed. Houston in the middle of October can get hot. One of the most important things that a customer wants from a vendor is honesty and quality. These guys are truly STAND UP. Steve profusely apologized for making an honest mistake and the owner of the firm personally handled my installation (he personally did the work) and I am so happy with their integrity that I rate them as the very best firm I've ever used from Angies List. If you have anxiety because vendors will try to pull a wool over your eyes to take advantage of your lack of knowledge then YOU MUST consider hiring this firm even if it costs a little bit more to do so. They have 10 stars from me for this job, but Angies List only lets me give them 5.

Called AirTech to diagnose weak AC cooling. I suspected a Freon leak so I found a coupon on Angies List for a $136 service call including 2 pounds of Freon. Visit was scheduled within 48 hours of purchasing the coupon and tech arrived promptly. Completed a thorough inspection and told me my evaporator coil was likely leaking. Offered to leak check the coil for $375 (which he did not recommend) and offered to replace the coil for $3,150 (4 ton) with no guarantee that it was the source of the leak. I declined both and had the tech install 2 pounds of Freon (included with my AngiesList coupon) to get the unit going again while I investigated other options. AirTech charges $90/lb for Freon normally (just for reference on their markup, look on Amazon and you can find it for $10/lb if you have a license). I had another large AC company take a look and they confirmed a leaky evaporator coil (oil staining visible on coil from Freon leak and they showed me cell photo photos ? this was never mentioned by AirTech) but they bid a similar amount to replace it. I finally found an independent contractor to replace the coil for less than half the AirTech quote. I?m sure AirTech does good work, but you pay an extreme premium for the large overhead of their business and I came out way ahead by shopping around.

They said I needed a repair and gave me a big price on it. They then quoted half of that amount when I challenged them on it. It's not a company that I would use again.

I asked Air Tech to provide quote to replace entire duct system of a 2400 sf house but they said they would need to charge $129 to provide quote. When I told Katie that this is a big job worth thousands of $$ she still said ductwork estimate is not free. Other companies happily provided free estimate, so why go here? Worst case scenario they send a guy in, didn't do anything, give a very high quote and pocket $129.

It turned out that the unit was five years past its over due date. They checked to see whether it was being turned off and on properly by the thermostat. There was a little glitch in there, where it was going off and on. They really cleaned up afterwards, which was great. They went out and looked at the air conditioning unit too and they were happy with it. So, everything was good. Then they told me that in the near future I needed to get a new furnace. I happened to have the money available. So I went ahead and told them to do it. They came by. They said from eight to ten. They were here at eight. They came in and got started on the work. There were three of them. They took care of it. They replaced it. Actually, they improved the old set up a little bit. They moved the furnace and air conditioning unit a little bit, reconnected it all and cleaned up afterwards. I was very pleased. They were great. They did very good work. I'm very happy with them. I got the $45 worth for inspection and everything. I really liked them. I think they're very good. I've had them before. They did the checking for the air conditioning in the spring. That was fine. I will certainly use them again.

It was okay. The pan that they brought had a bad weld on it. They installed it and it went away. At night, there was water coming through the ceiling. I went up the attic and the pan had a bad weld on it and it was leaking from the pan. They had to come back. They said they'd come out that night. I said it was okay; I'll just shut off the air conditioner and drain the pan myself. The next day they came and replaced the pan with the new one.

Shysters. Plain and simple. Read any list of reviews and you'll always find at least one complaining that Air Tech wants to sell you a new system, not repair your old one. True. Their tech told me he added some Freon to my unit and that it should hold until spring, when I would want to replace it. Twenty minutes after he left, the unit began short cycling again. The tech returned and told me that the system was shot. Replace it and the other unit, he said. Curiously, he had a bid ready very quickly. Another firm had my unit fixed in under an hour for $275.00, and told me that the Air Tech guy hadn't added any Freon at all. Buyer beware.

Technician was timely and very professional.

Great service and call backs. As another reviewer noted, they are pricey but you get value since they are responsive and knowledgeable in what they do. I had to replace my outdoor unit and coils. I also wanted to move my 3 outdoor units to a different location, about 50 feet from the back of the house to the side of the house. Air Tech gave me a quote and the next day 6 guys showed up and did the work on the day. We had a new outdoor unit plus all 3 units were moved in about 6 hours. They even manufactured some custom hoods for the outdoor unit to direct the hot air away from my deck and walls. I would use them again because of they kept me informed throughout the service and after service (city inspection) process.

I have used Air Tech 3 or 4 times in the past and because they do such a wonderful job and I feel they are extremely honest, I will continue to go back to them for future services.

Fast, professional and everything was done great. We have used Air Tech for the past 2 1/2 years and they consistently do a good job.

The tech was very professional and thorough. Upon completing the inspection he provided a few observations about items that may need replacing in the future. I did not feel that he was trying to "up-sell" (which I hate!) rather he was just being informative. I would definitely hire this company to do additional work in the future.

I had the $59 tune up done. The tech called me 15 minutes before arrival and arrived well within his three hour window. He was pleasant and polite. After the inspection he called me and let me know what he had found and what he suggested. There was no high pressure sales. He also assisted my daughter with a completely unrelated issue out of courtesy. Very pleased with the service.

Our A/C unit was making a strange noise. We called and Chris came out within two hours. He was knowledgeable, honest and explained everything he was doing. Our capacitor was bad - Chris showed the gauges where the levels were and what they needed to be (he was not trying to hide or "up-sell" anything). The faulty capacitor made the fan move slower. Chris replaced the capacitor and put about a pound of refrigerant in the unit. He didn't try to sell things that were not necessary and we will definitely use them again.

They were very responsive and professional. I expected them to try to "up-sell" me but they did not. They stuck to the problem and gave suggestions to think about in the future but they did not pressure me whatsoever.

Joe, the technician arrived on time. Evaluated the furnaces in a timely manner, and gave recommendations for maintaining them over time. He was professional and knowledgeable, and took it upon himself to wear shoe covers in our home, which is a sign that they care about customer preferences. $188.50 is a very fair price to evaluate 2 furnaces in the autumn, and 2 air conditioners next spring. Can't ask for anything more than quality work at a reasonable price.

The system will need to be replaced / updated with 410 Freon. The technician was very informative letting me know what options I may have and the cost for each.

My a/c controller was not working properly. One half was locked. Called Air Tech after purchasing their service plan. Air Tech personnel said that the thermostat controlled had to be replaced. I told him that I had purchased a Wi-Fi one. Quoted $250 for replacing it !!! Told me that replacing a simple thermostat through Air Tech themselves would have cost me $500. This is their price. Will not call them again.

It was 25 years old. The key contacts were extremely knowledgeable, the teams were capable and professional, I plan to use them for replacement of another 25 year old system. Everything was completed in about 6 hours. I am completely satisfied.
