Description of Work: A Better Trip moved our first floor furnishings to our garage and enclosed porch while we had hardwood floors refinished. The came and moved all furnishings back in, putting padding on the bottom of all furniture to make it easier to move and not mar the newly refinished flooring. We were very satisfied with the service and would recommend them highly.

+ 0 moreMy moving team arrived EARLY (when did that ever happen?!) and had the truck packed up in less than two hours, including my 100-year-old baby grand piano. Arriving at the new house, they unloaded in record time and with great care; not one thing was broken. They put the piano back together properly (pedal assembly requires some finessing - they managed it perfectly). At all times they were polite and professional and worked hard. Great service!

+ 2 moreI called on a Thursday, and they were able to come on Monday. The 3-man crew arrived on time (8:30 am), neat, clean, professional. Worked like sherpas; packed the contents of two very large china closets and a corner cupboard, wrapped everything, called my attention to all existing scratches, dents, etc ( hey guys, these are antiques!). They were finished here by 11:15 am, and had my things safely in storage by 1:00 pm. Left a few strips of tape on the floor, but otherwise cleaned up just fine.
Description of Work: This is the third time I have used Better Tripp in the past two years. They moved our daughter from one third floor apt to a 2nd flr apt, and did it in record time with no damage. Last year we had to move all of our downstairs furniture out and put it in storage while we renovated. this included many antiques, valuable paintings and a baby grand piano. Moved, stored and redelivered. On July 26, we had to move all the same stuff out of downstairs and store it because the restored floors were ruined by a slow leak in kitchen island faucet. The above price includes packing, moving and storage for a month. They wrap everything in paper, all upholstered furniture is completely wrapped in plastic, all exposed wood is wrapped in padded paper.

+ 0 moreI have moved several times during my 7 years in Texas; A Better Tripp was by far THE BEST moving company I have used. When we decided to move to Seattle, I was stressed out about how cumbersome the move across the country would be. The move couldn't have been more stress free and pleasant. When I met Bill (VP, Sales/Marketing), he was open and honest, which was exactly who I was looking for. In fact, he even told me which Mayflower contractors to get competitive bids from, versus some others that had a poor reputation. That is what impressed me about Bill, which in the end convinced me that A Better Tripp was the company that would be "A Better Trip." Bill even gave me moving boxes which was very generous. On moving day, Mike, the head mover was polite, funny, and hard working. Him and his team moved us out of the apartment in Houston and into our place in Seattle with ease and on schedule. Nothing was broken, everything was in order, and all the boxes were in tact. I would highly recommend A Better Tripp to everyone I know. They are the best, by far.

+ -1 moreI rented a truck and moved my mother from an apartment in Wisconsin to a home in Baytown, Texas. I needed someone to unload the truck at the house once we got there. Actually, the price was reasonable considering I did not contact them to arrange the move until the week before the move. They were able to accomodate me on short notice. The crew of 3 men showed up right on time and finished the job quickly and carefully. I guess the language was the only negative aspect of the experience. Only 1 of the 3 men spoke enough English to effectively communicate with me. However, I was pleased with the overall experience.
Description of Work: They unloaded my rental truck at my mother's new house and put the furniture and boxes in the rooms.

Description of Work: A Better Tripp came over to my apartment to give me an estimate of how much it would cost to move my two bedroom apartment 45 minutes across the city to a house. The representative was very friendly, but spent most of the time chatting me up and not talking about the details of the job, or specifics. He forgot to write down where I was moving to, so when I tried to schedule the move later, he had to get the addresses again. And then actually lost the paperwork, so I had to reschedule the move and give my info a third time. The kicker was that the company was unwilling to give me a meaningful "do not exceed" estimate. This is a contract saying that the move should take x amt of hours, and not over. Their estimate of my move was to cost $1800, but when I asked for the written "do not exceed" contract, they somehow upped the cost to $4900!! Which is worthless - there's no reason such a small, short move should ever cost that much. They were clearly just covering their bases, and probably planning to overcharge me from the begining. In the end I went with another company, Queen Moving and Storage, which gave me a "do not exceed" contract that was the same as their estimate, and who never lost any of my information. I do not recommend A Better Tripp.

+ 1 moreI needed to move from Houston, TX to central PA and had a gap between the move-out date of my old apartment and the move-in date of my new house. A Better Tripp arrived to my apartment early with 3 movers who moved my stuff from the 3rd floor with no elevator. Everything was packed correctly and handled with care. They didn't once take a break in the 7 hours they were moving. They then put everything in a climate-controlled AC storage unit for about a month before completing the move to my new home in PA. Though some brackets are missing for some of my shelving, everything else arrived safely and undamaged. Overall, this was the best move I have ever had and I had the most nightmare move you can imagine from Allied who managed to break or damage every piece of furniture I had (NOT an exaggeration).
Description of Work: A Better Tripp moved my household from Houston, TX to central PA and stored my household for approximately a month while I was waiting to move into my new home.

+ -1 moreIt was a pleasant surprise to find that instead of 2 persons, the company sent an additional third person free. They wrapped all furniture items in pads and loaded the truck in just about one hour. The move was local (around 4 miles away) and they took the shortest possible route to reach there ASAP. The unloading took about an hour and 20 minutes because the new apartment is on third floor even though there is a freight elevator. Overall, they finished the job in less than 3 hours, which was the minimum time for the contract any way. If I have to move locally again, I will definitely use this company.

+ -1 moreIt was three hours of work and they charge $90 per hour. It was 1 1/2 hours to get me out of my house and 1 1/2 hours to get me in the new house. They have moved me seven times and I love them. I have used them over the last eight years.

+ -1 moreI called this company the day before and they were very responsive. Overall, it went very well considering it was raining when they started the move. However, it was only a light sprinkle as they moved items to the trunk. They covered the furniture well. They weren't initially cautious of tracking mud/dirt in and out of the house. I didn't mind at the old house since the carpet would be replaced. However, I had to bring the issue to their attention when they started moving items into the new house. Once I brought this to their attention, they covered the hardwood floors and carpet, and cleaned up mud that they tracked in. I didn't have that much to move, so they got the better end of the deal with the minimum that I paid. It was worth it due to my short time frame needing the move. I was impressed with the move of my large Nordic Track treadmill without any incidents.
Description of Work: Moved a dining table, 3 chairs, 6-7 boxes, 2 bikes, a ladder, two ice chests, 2 bookshelves, and treadmill from a townhouse to a house.

+ 0 moreArrived a bit late, but more than made up for it in conscientious, excellent service. They wrap every piece of furniture in pads and tape. Some are even shrink-wrapped on top of this. I had four movers and a 28' truck. They wrapped, packed, moved, unwrapped and set up a 2600 sq. ft. home of furniture in six hours. This includes driving time. They took no breaks and had a couple of large pieces that posed quite a problem getting up the stairs, but they did it!!! Great, great company. Jerald was wonderful in booking my move and every detail was covered and reconfirmed. Very professional and knowledgeable crews. I cannot express how impressed I am with the whole company. I have already recommended them to my realtor and asked him to be sure to recommend them to his future clients. A Better Tripp is the type of company all companies should aspire to be, but too few do anymore. Thank you so very, very much for a wonderful, easy, stress free move.

+ -1 moreWe called a week in advance to set up a time and date for moving. The movers called the day before the move to say they would be at our house between 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and they arrived promptly at 9:00 a.m. on moving day. They had us moved and set up in the townhouse within 3 hours and 45 minutes. They never took a break. They worked fast but very efficiently with excellent moving equipment and nothing was broken or damaged. They placed everything exactly where we wanted it and set up the beds. Miguel and his crew, 2 other men, were very courteous and professional. They saved us quite a lot of money since the rate was $110.00 an hour with a $90.00 trip fee. We were so grateful that we doubled their tip. We were convinced they would never be able to move an enormous Mexican tile table but they took care of it easily.
Description of Work: A Better Tripp moved our furniture and packing boxes from our 3 bedroom home to our 3 bedroom 2 story town home, a distance of 6 miles.

+ -1 moreThey arrived on time, loaded all household items promptly and efficiently, transported them to our new location, unloaded to different rooms per instructions, and helped us set up the bed and other setups. It went very well. If you are prepared, they are prepared. They did adjust to moving an aquarium that had not been intended with only a minor delay for preparation of a damage release form for fragile items. They were prepared with a statement at the end and promptly applied the payment to my credit card. I anticipate using them again.
Description of Work: They showed up on time and loaded boxes and furniture, transported to new address, and unloaded. They also helped set up the bed frame and other setups.

They were very respectful of my property, didn't waste any time, didn't break anything and although they spoke spanish I had no problem understanding them or they understanding me. The unloading at the new house went as smooth as the loading. These guys were fantastic. I would hire them again without any reservation.

I was able to sit back and relax and enjoy the entire experience. They wrapped all the furniture and none of the boxes were crushed during transit. Everything in the truck was tied down and despite all the stairs, they never once uttered a complaint about anything. They methodically listed every item and pointed out any furniture flaws prior to wrapping the furniture. It was great to have no anxieties during this move and the furniture was delivered on time as promised. I would highly recommend them.

+ -1 moreWhen made appointment, requested and was assured they only used actual employees. Learned during the day of move they were "leased". Arrived early. Worked hard. However, ignored my repeated requests for 3 or all 4 of them to move a large piece of antique furniture with a lot of glass. 2 of them did it with much difficulty and came very close to dropping it several times. Also, ignored my questions when trying to move upright freezer. In short, they did things thier way and ignored me except for where to place items.
Description of Work: Moved 2-story, 3-4 bedroom house to another 1-story house in the same town.

+ 0 moreI had hoped to have all of my mother's belongings packed by the time the movers arrived, but I didn't have time to do it, so I was still packing when the movers arrived. Also, my mom had a LOT of junk to pack! (If she had thrown the junk away before we packed, there would have been a lot less to pack and the move would not have taken so long.) For those reasons, the move took twice as long and cost twice as much as I expected. (They charge by the hour.) That was my fault, though. The movers were very professional. They carefully wrapped the china cabinet, and even the sofa. A Better Tripp is not a discount moving company, but you get what you pay for. I like knowing I am using a company that is insured. I've used more affordable movers in the past, but they were not as careful with my belongings.
