A Better Tripp Moving & Storage

My first review never made it on the site, so I'm trying it again! I would not recommend this company to anyone for a couple of reasons. 1) They scheduled a representative to come out and inventory my belongings for the move to determine what size truck would best accommodate. They ended up calling me and rescheduling.. TWICE! The day the manager was supposed to come out, she was late .... several hours! I finally called to ask where she was, and she stated she had a meeting that morning and would be out that afternoon late! They did not make the effort to contact me to tell me she was going to be late. 2) Prior to arrival, the representative I spoke with ensured me SEVERAL times, that the quoted price would not change. They were simply coming out JUST to see how big of a truck I would need. WRONG!! Upon arrival to do the inventory, she proceeds to tell me they cannot do my move for the price I had been quoted (and emailed in writing). We discussed it back and forth and she made excuse after excuse and said that they absolutely could not do my move for the quoted price. I mentioned to her that the ethical thing to do, since it was THEIR mistake, was to go ahead and do the move for the price I was sent, even if they have to eat the cost! To me, this is honest business practice. She again, said they wouldn't do it! She kept stating that "...well they probably thought you were thinking...".. I said, "No, What I was thinking was what I was TOLD and emailed! Nothing more, nothing less" All in all, I felt highly disappointed. She pretty much made me feel it was my fault because I wasn't thinking the same way they were. I'm sorry, but what's on a WRITTEN email quote is solid and should be honored! If they couldn't do it for that price, then don't tell me you can! We are on a time crunch, so now we are back to square one for finding a new moving company! Quite frustrating! Unfortunately, I have to grade them an F due to simply lying to me.

We hired A Better Tripp movers to relocate our 1 bedroom + study home from Houston to San Francisco. We had done a considerable amount of research on moving companies, moving ourselves hiring loaders, using a self-packing unit, etc., etc., etc., but in the end A Better Tripp (ABT) was our best choice, and we are glad that we did. When we contacted ABT they were very responsive, and immediately arranged for an on-site preview and base estimate. The estimator -Nick- was courteous, knowledgeable, punctual and great to work with. He provided us with a written estimate within hours, making sure that we knew exactly what it included. We ended up getting rid of a bunch of things - having to downsize to fit in our smaller apartment in California - and Nick was great at re-evaluating our estimate, and revising our inventory. In the end we agreed on a total load of 4100 lbs for 1900 miles, and the fully binded fee for the bill of lading. The day of the move the GIANT truck showed up, with the 3 movers that they had suggested, including the driver and two movers, and within 1 hour and 20 minutes they had very efficiently and carefully packed our entire belongings in the truck. We had packed most of the house, but requested that ABT pack our kitchen, and it as AMAZING to see them at work. Our belongings showed up in California 3 days after we landed (we flew with our cats) safe and sound. They unloaded the entire house into our new place without a scratch, and were very courteous and efficient. 2 hours later, because of the elevator rides, they were done. Moving is incredibly stressful, but ABT really made things easier. We didn't have to carry heavy stuff, no having to drive cross country and hotels, no guesswork on "will it fit into this container or do we need more", everything went smoothly. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend ABT movers to friends, family and any Angie's list users. They are worth the price.

They arrived for pick up on time in VA and delivered it here in NJ sooner than they called and told us they would. They were very professional and careful with transporting it into the house and unpacking it. They treated it with great care and made suggestions as to where in the room to place it. They took great care to protect our hardwood floor. We were very pleased with the way they conducted themselves in all respects. Definitely would use them again and would refer them to anyone needing this service. Many, Many Thanks

They were very professional on the telephone. Took the job at the last minute and got it done quickly. Though I wasn't at the office when the piano was delivered, the warehouse staff told me they did a good job. Helped me look good to my boss! I would certainly use them again! Can't remember what I paid them (sorry!)

They couldn't manage our move but we liked them very much. Gave us good advice and estimated cost was reasonable.

Excellent experience from the very beginning of speaking with Lucy. She told me Melvin would get back to me with an estimate and he did in a timely manner. At the time I was getting a few estimates from other movers....never having hired a mover before for anything...I chose A Better Tripp because of the estimate. The cost was within my range. I was impressed that once I made up my mind to use you everything went smoothly even though I was kind of slow getting back to make the final arrangements. I was told that the piano would be picked up on a Wed. in the morning and it was. The two men performing the move , Roselle and Benjamin, were very polite and professional in every way. I was not at the pickup address, but I was told they were very nice and polite and professional and took great care with wrapping and packing up the piano. On the delivery end they called and said they would be here the day after the pickup between 3PM-5PM. They called that day and said they would be here earlier than expected by about 2PM which was fine with me. They got here as scheduled. Unloading, unpacking and setting up the piano was done with great care. Roselle was very helpful advising using something under the wheels to protect our wood floors and how to position the piano. They moved it carefully to get it in just the right spot. I would Definitely advise A Better Tripp to anyone to use for their moving needs. I had trepidation about moving this piano on this long trip because of its age (about 100 yrs. old) and its being a family heirloom. Was not sure how it would stand the trip, but thanks to A Better Tripp I realized after all I experienced, from first phone call to completion, that it you made it seem like a "piece of cake" :) Thank you all Lucy, Melvin, Roselle and Benjamin for a fine job and anyone else who might have been a part of these arrangements. Even my neighbors said they liked the way they worked. I was impressed with them as well. I asked them to protect my headboard, but they didn't move it carefully. They took the front storm door off to bring in my big refrigerator. There were a couple dents and scratches on the right side of my refrigerator. They also scratched our floor. I called the manager Allen and he said he would get back in touch with me, after a month had passed by I had gotten no response. He claimed he had the wrong number, and sent me over to Linda and she is the manager over all the offices for claims. I got an email from her and I sent her pictures. I am hopeful that they will address my concerns. Linda sent me another email, claiming that she didn't see damage on the headboard, I told her that she is more than welcome to take a look. They are very respectful, friendly and professional.

They picked up furniture and large items at my house and took them to my storeroom, then brought an antique breakfront and several other pieces of furniture to my home. They were very careful with all items.

The initial pickup was done on schedule which we were grateful for as it required coordination with a working neighbor to provide entry into the home where the property was. All property was carefully packed in the truck on delivery. All furniture items were packed in shipping blankets and then wrapped in stretch plastic. On delivery, all items were placed in our home as requested, after unwrapping in the area of their final destination. We had no damage. We were very pleased with "A Better Tripp" and would go to them first if we had a future moving requirement.

They did everything perfectly fine. They did exactly as I told them. I've used them several times. They're fabulous. They're technical and they handle things gentley.

If you are in the process of a move, it's not necessary to take valuable time by reading 20 reviews ? you have way too much going on. I'll be concise. I am a car collector and am probably referred by many as being a little overly picky. In my mind, there's no difference between my home and/or my cars. I have been moved professionally by several moving companies and I'm convinced because of the personal nature of this service; it will never be perfect. That said, with A Better Tripp Moving & Storage, I experienced some of the same challenges that I now recognize as synonymous with a move, i.e. some damage and some untimeliness. However, what I know to be invaluable is the result after the event. I've always felt that companies have the opportunity to excel and distinguish themselves from their competitors and if they view customer challenges as an opportunity to demonstrate their abilities. Hopefully, this opportunity is executed in a timely fashion and with an attitude of service. A Better Tripp Moving & Storage did just that. The few challenges I had were rectified in a quick and professional manner. Mr. Tripp, the owner, and his team, were quick to get on the phone and very responsive to my needs. It was very clear that they still remember who pays their paycheck - the customer. As customer service seems to be somewhat of a curious anachronism, overall, I was pleased with the result of my move. I look at it like this? things are going to happen, but it?s how the service provider performs after the sale that is paramount. Consequently, I sincerely recommend A Better Tripp Moving & Storage as I sincerely believe the service after they were paid was as good as or better than the start. Mr. Tripp has assembled a credible team that appears to be passionate about customer service. I would call them again.

Moved our belongings from storage (from a previous move) to our new residence.

This is just an excellent moving company. They arrived on time, were super careful in wrapping our antique furniture, careful about not hitting walls and doors, very responsive to our needs. All four gentlemen were so very nice and accommodating. Excellent team of professional movers. I will use them next time we move.

The movers did a wonderful job. They took great care with our piano, wrapped it, and moved it without any damage. They were on time and polite.

They are very professional. I got out of the way and just let them us. I would use them again. They wrapped everything so well in plastic - nothing was broken or scratched.

We moved from a two story 2300+ s.f. house into a 1900 s.f. one story house. We packed ourselves. They arrived on time with 2 trucks and four men. They were very fast, efficient, and professional. A few items of concern: After we finished loading the items from our house, I said then we need to go the storage rooms. HOWEVER, THEIR OFFICE NEGLECTED TO TELL THEM THAT WE HAD TO ALSO MOVE ITEMS FROM STORAGE UNITS! They were very surprised about this. I had talked to their office a couple of times and they definitely knew about the storage units. My guess is the men would have packed the trucks differently if they had known they would be adding to them. Not having moved in many years, we didn't realize that NOW the moving company is basically responsible for nothing if they break something. They want you to buy insurance. Ours would have cost almost $500. We declined. Our butcher block breakfast room table broke in two pieces and the head mover said he didn't know how that happened. We gave them a pass since the table was old. Nothing we could do about it anyway. Also, they couldn't read what we had written (in print) on the boxes regarding where to put them in the new house. (I believe only one could read or speak English.) My husband and I tried the best we could to direct them, but they were moving so fast and moving 3 and 4 boxes on a dollie at a time, that we couldn't catch them all. Consequently, we had boxes all over the house that were in unrelated rooms. We had to move a lot of boxes to their correct rooms after they left which was difficult since we both have bad backs.

Everything about the move was excellent except that they jacked up the price of the move by taking the time to over wrap everything including pictures and the dining table was wrapped completely with the bottom of eat leg double wrapped. Next, each chair, including the recliner was gift wrapped. Move cost about $350 more than it should have.

Dilligent hard workers. everything arrived at new location in excellant condition and was set up properly.

He was beyond helpful. He knew I wasn't going to use his company, but he stilled stayed on the phone with me to give me tips to help my parents' move go smoothly.

Everything was fantastic. They were very responsive from my first telephone call. They scheduled an appointment to come out. I work from home and unfortunately ran over on a conference call. I missed my appointment, and he had to come back out the next date. Despite the inconvenience I caused him, he had a great attitude, he didn't rush me., and answered all of my questions. He sent my quote a day later, but it went to my junk mailbox, so there was quite a delay in receiving the estimate. I kind of wished that he would have followed-up with a call, just to verify that I had received the quote - and try to close the deal. But, no complaints. I ended up going with another carrier, because they were a bit lower on the price per pound.

They did a great job. Nothing was broken and everything was professionally handled. If I have the opportunity to move again, I will happily use them again.

This is our second time to use A Better Tripp for moving services and will be the only company I call if I ever need to move again. While not the cheapest option, they are definitely one of the best. Scheduling the move with Allen was a breeze and he was able to talk through the items in our house (2500 sq feet) and came up with a quote - which was spot on. The level of service that was provided was excellent, from the call to confirm the move to the actual movers themselves. Everyone was very nice and the level of detail that they use when wrapping furniture to make the move was nice. Nothing was damaged, not even scratched, and the move crew was very friendly and professional. The small difference in price is worth the peace of mind.

I did a lot of research before hiring movers to move the contents of my three bedroom home from Spring, TX to Osawatomie, KS. I chose A Better Tripp Movers because an estimator actually came to the house to view my possessions before giving a quote as opposed to those who wanted me to email an inventory and then provide a quote. They were middle price range and highly rated on Angies List so I hired them. I did all the packing on the home so no items were broken during the move. Tim and Mike who loaded and unloaded the truck were absolutely great! They were professional and hard working and very conscientious. My problems were with scheduling and delivery dates. My items were scheduled to arrive in Kansas between the 28th and 30th. No one notified me that there would be a delay and delivery would not occur before the 31st. I was camping out in an empty house with two small dogs and it was very inconvenient to experience this delay. Tim and Mike were very concerned about this delay, but it was, in fact, not their fault at all. Better communication between the scheduler could have avoided a lot of frustration. After my complaints about the delay, the company did provide a small refund. In the end all is well, but the frustration could have all been avoided with better communication.
