The guy that came up was really nice and did everything nicely. However, they wanted to me to get something else for more money, but I opted not to do that. The work that that they did was pretty decent, but that night I realized that the A/C was not working. I called them in the morning and asked them to come immediately to fix the problem because I have three toddlers and it was around 85 to 90 degrees. They said that the guys were booked up and they can't get anyone out. I ended up calling one of the previous A/C people that I worked with and they found that Diamond Quality Services people forgot to turn on the power switch after they unclogged the pipe. I called them back and said you should compensate me as I ended up paying for a second call to have someone come out because of your fault, but they said we were going to get someone up there, but we couldn't and you chose to go with somebody else, sorry we can't do anything about it.
Description of Work: One of the pipes of my A/C was clogged and Diamond Quality Services resolved that clogging issue.

On July 13, we went to the members home to perform a cooling tune up which he purchased from Angie's List. During our inspection we found several things that needed to be corrected, one being clearing his drain line which was stopped up. We gave him a proposal for the work needing to be done. The member called back on July 24th to schedule with us to have the drain line cleared, which we did. The check which the member gave us for the work we completed on the 24th was unfortunately washed in a washing machine and was unable to be deposited the following day. The next day I called the member and politely asked him to reissue the check and he said that he would. Later that day, the member called and said his unit would not come on and wanted someone out immediately. I let the member know that I would be able to place him on the schedule and send someone out but it would be later that day. The member called back about an hour later to say he had found someone else that could come out right now so, he was canceling the appointment. Note: (We do not turn the power off to the a/c to only clear a drain line). The member never re-issued us the check that was ruined as was implied in the members review. The invoice remains open for payment, for the work we completed July 24th, 2012. In an event such as the member described, where an appointment requires rescheduling, we always do our best to place the member back on our schedule as quickly as possible. In this case, the same day appointment we had offered the member, wasn't good enough for the member and, the member, decided to call on another company. The Big Deal took care of the service call and inspection but there were additional charges to actually fix the problem. At first we had a small mix up - they sent the guy out to do the inspection, but he wasn't told about what the problem was so he didn't have the tools to actually fix the issue at the time. He had to come out again, but when he did so everything was fixed and it was fine. The person I talked to on the phone apologized for the mix.
Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal $59 for a Seasonal Heating Tune-Up on recommendation from this company after calling to tell them that my heater was blowing cold air.

The member had called in from another state and needed service for her rental property here in the Dallas area. The member told me she thought they were having thermostat trouble because sometime the unit would come on and then other times, that it would not. I gave the member the choice of purchasing the heating tune up which would include the checking of the thermostat and insure the rest of her furnace was in proper working order, or. she could get the $49.00 service call/diagnostic coupon and we would come out and find her problem, then quote her for repairs. The member chose the heating tune up, upon my recommendation. We do not always carry every thermostat available on each truck due to, the many choices and styles readily obtainable. The tenant needed to get back to work, so we arranged with her for us to come back the next day and install the thermostat the member chose. *The only additional charge was the thermostat, which is not included in a tune up or service call.

This contractor was excellent. New Years Eve Day... Heating system was not working. Called this company and they had a service repair person at my home with in an hour. The repair person worked on my system for over 8 hours and resolved the problem. We were only charged the service call price. I was amazed!!!!! I have used other Heating and A/C repair companies in the past and I have never had one to work so hard to resolve the problem and fix it with out trying to seel me a new unit or some type of maintenance repair plan. I was so very pleased with this contractor that I got quite a few of his business cards to pass out to friends and family. I would recommend this contractor to everyone.
Description of Work: Woke up New Years Eve Day with no heat... I was cold. The technician came and worked for 8 hours to find and resolve the problem. Had a dirty hose and loose gas line wire.

My air conditioner was not functioning properly. They sent a technician who fixed the problem - a hose was loose in the attic. The problem occurred again within a few weeks - I have a VERY HIGH POWERED air conditioner that seemed to be blowing the hose loose. They corrected the problem the second time at no charge. I have a specific dust problem in master bedroom so wanted to know about air duct cleaning. Allergies are a big problem. They were much more interested in telling me about extra insulation that they think I need. Really kind of downplayed the reason I called in the first place, telling me it was from rugs or clothing. Said I did not need air duct cleaning at all. I was disappointed. It seemed that their objective was not the same as mine.

First of all it should be known that the member has a consulting business which has been in the past hired, to consult on a variety of issues in the home comfort and indoor air quality industry. As a matter of fact the members company consulted with one of the leading air duct cleaning equipment manufacturers within the last 2 to 3 years. So, we are astonished that the member would consider our suggestions regarding carpets, rugs, upholstery or clothing as downplaying the problem and/or that somehow we were more interested in extra insulation, particularly since the member has pictures we shared of the entire inspection. It should be noted that Carpets and rugs are a huge filter for every day household dust and debris. This can be a contributing factor to common allergies and should be regularly cleaned. Both owners of our company have a combined experience of over 30 years in the air duct cleaning and indoor air quality industry. Both owners of our company were present at this inspection at the members home. In addition we have roughly 15 pictures of the actual inspection. After our inspection/evaluation we reviewed everything with the member, including a need for additional insulation based on an area with no insulation and the remainder under EnergyStar recommended levels. Just to touch on a few things regarding our inspection we found the plenums to have microbial growth, humidifier wetting panels to be full of flaking aluninum oxide (probable source for dust in master suite and upstairs), which the member commented his air conditioning contractor that services his systems said the same about the wetting panels. Also found unsupported ductwork significantly impeding airflow and an area in the attic completely void of any insulation. We discussed all of our findings with the member and reviewed the pictures with him while at the appointment. It should be known that anytime we are in an attic and we notice the member could benefit from additional insulation we will alert the member. Homeowners typically do not go into the attic so we inform them of anything we may find, such as evidence of roofleaks to improperly installed waterheaters. We do not service water heaters or repair roofs. That doesn't mean the member has to do anything about it, as we are only informing not selling. It's an inspection, not a sales call. Then we provide the member with a written proposal, not, a sales pitch. We provided the member a proposal based on his concerns about indoor air quality. We have multiple pictures of air ducts with no dust build up. It would have been easy to sell duct cleaning to the member, but he would have seen zero benefits from a duct cleaning. The approximate one hour we spent and the pictures of the areas we inspected, which the member also received along with the quote on the day of the inspection, is proof that we were very interested in discussing with the member the current issue he had in order to help resolve the issue. We also invested additional time inspecting problem areas which we felt the member should have wanted to know about. All the areas we inspected could be contributing factors to the allergy problem the member mentioned and we let the member know about it. Sometimes we have to tell people things they would rather not hear. At the end of the day we believe that we should always give the member any/all the information so they can make the most informed decision based on what is best for his/her family. We do believe allergies are a problem for this member. It's unfortunate the member has a different view of a properly performed air duct inspection and based on his consulting background should know, that air duct cleaning is not always the only remedy to dust or allergy problems.

The appointment went well. He showed up on time, looked at the sytem, changed the filter, added a pount of freon and was on his way. Since most of the work was instrumentation it seemed like a quick visit. Not rushed or as though he had somewhere else to be, just efficient. Overall this was a good experience.

I walked outside when the young man arrived at my home and walked in the back yard with him, I explained to him, that I hadn't turned on my A/C unit yet, wanted to get it checked first. I asked him to explain why a unit would need freon and he informed me that it shouldn't unless there's a leak. There was no leak, but he did notice the compressor part was rusted and could perform for a while longer or I could replace it. He recommended I replace it and he had the part in his vehicle. I agreed and paid for the compressor. I would use this company again in the future.
Description of Work: I called Diamond Quality Services and Rita was great to work with. She's takes the calls and passes the information along to the technicians. The young man arrived and explained what he saw with my A/C unit. The compressor had gotten rusted and old over time and he recommended I replace it and I did.

Very well. The serviceman was here approximately 30-40 minutes, checked the furnace and thermostat and made sure it was all working properly. After he had finished working in my attice, he checked several vents to make sure that the air was flowing properly and was heating to the proper temperature. He was a very nice, polite young man and was a joy to work with. He seemed to be very thorough.

They got to the house five minutes early and called ahead of time. Rita the manager is wonderful, accomodating and polite. They worked to get everything done and were very neat. We also had them to air conditioner work for us in the past and I will not call anyone else to do this type of work. I really trust them.

The tech arrived late for the tune up saying that he had been held up at another job. There had been a few days that it seemed my air conditioner was not cooling as usual, and I wanted to make sure there was not a problem that could leave me without air in the middle of the Texas summer. He was here for only about 15 to 20 minutes. Other companies in the past have taken a lot longer for a tune up and air conditioner check up, but he assured me that everything was working fine and that he saw no problems that I should be aware of. Since my house is only 7 years old, I didn't question his findings and assumed that I the days the air seemed to not be cooling up to par was just the heat from wearing a neck brace due to a recent cervical fusion. However, within a couple of weeks of this perfect report from Diamond Quality Services and in the heat of a Texas summer, my air conditioner stopped cooling. I called the company back and explained they had just recently given my air conditioner a complete bill of health yet only a couple of weeks later it was not cooling. Since I had just paid for the tune up, I asked her to send a tech back out to see why it was not cooling. She told me she didn't have anyone to send and that she didn't know of anyone that sh could recommend. Very poor way to do business. I then called a company that I had used several times and should have used in the first place. (I bought the deal for the price - just shows you get what you pay for). They came out within 30 minutes and found and fixed the problem immediately. It was a problem that should have been found in the tune up if it had been properly done. I would NEVER use this company again and would certainly not recommend them to anyone else. I feel that they did not do what they were paid to do, and that I paid for a tune up that was not done properly and I question if it was even done at all.
Description of Work: I purchased an air conditioner tune up from Angie's Deals. It seemed that on some days my air conditioner was just not cooling as well as it should. I had recently had cervical spine surgery and was wearing a neck brace so I wasn't sure if it was the discomfort from the brace or if the air conditioner needed freon or something. I decided it would be better to have the air tune up rather than risk a problem during the middle of summer with my health problems. Rather than call the my usual company, I decided to save some money and buy the deal for the air conditioner tune up that I found on Angie's list.

This is the information provided for the members to read before they purchase the Big Deal. We tried to list everything that could be done (if applicable) to your system, so there would be no confusion. No cleaning is mentioned or included. The pro technicians at Diamond Quality Services will perform a complete 16 point check-up and inspection of your A/C system that includes the following Refrigerant levels, compressor contactor, running and starting amps, capacitors and relays, condensate drains, evaporator coil, drain pan, plumbers hub, wire and safety devices, thermostat, vibration/noise, lubricate motors (if applicable), ductwork conditions and filters. We did go to the members home on July 12th, and performed the complete check that we have listed above. When we left the home the unit was working properly and the member was very glad we had been there. The member called back after a month, to say her unit was not cooling properly. The unit was working properly when our technician had performed the ac tune up and, even though we were booking appointments two weeks out at the time she called us back, I let her know I would certainly go to work to fit in the diagnostic call within the next 24 to 48 hours. This would take some re-routing and possible rescheduling of other member appointments to make this work the best I could for the member diagnostic. Then the member asked if we could recommend someone that could come out that day and I told her I was not aware of anyone. The member became angry and verbally abusive. The member contacted Angie's List 5 months after this happened and demanded her money back, because she was unhappy with our service. The member was aware of our efforts to address her situation as quickly as was humanly possible, but she chose not to let us.

I got a Deal through Angie's List for a tuneup of my AC with freon. It was a lifesaver. I'd had someone else come out and tell me that the system needed to be replaced but I could not come up with the funding to do it, so was looking for a company to just get it running enough to last the season. The guys at Diamond found a problem that no one else had ever picked up on, and even came back the next day when I had another issue that simply required a $10 part. It ran great all summer. Yes, I know that I will need to replace the system at some point but Scott was able to get an old system up and running. I would absolutely use them again.
Description of Work: No AC... house was 85 degrees. That is not a good way to start the summer season. Scott came out and checked out my system, recharged the freon and repaired a breaker outside.

The pro technicians at Diamond Quality Services will perform a complete 16 point check-up and inspection of your A/C system that includes the following Refrigerant levels, compressor contactor, running and starting amps, capacitors and relays, condensate drains, evaporator coil, drain pan, plumbers hub, wire and safety devices, thermostat, vibration/noise, lubricate motors (if applicable), ductwork conditions and filters. When we went to the members home our technician performed service on everything listed above. The member was unhappy that we had informed her about the dirty condenser coils, (which we have pictures of), and that we had recommended cleaning vs adding even more freon to an already overcharged AC system. If the coils are not cleaned/ maintained on a semi annual or at least annual basis, (depending on location), then a service company could add freon and actually overcharge a system, when actually the AC system may not have required any added freon at all. This was apparently what happened prior to the member calling our service company for the Angie's list ac service offering. Overcharging an AC system is not the technical answer to cooling issues. After proper maintenance an AC system can be properly charged. We gave the member a written quote for the coil cleaning and removal of excessive freon before we ever left her home. The member declined the repairs. It is a fact: that there are times when we have to let members know that there is more to making their system right than just adding more refrigerant/freon. Occasionally, a member gets upset with us because their system needs a part or cleaning, prior to us being able to properly diagnose and have the system in full functional operation, per manufacturers specification. We will continue to give "Service Beyond Expectation" to all Angie's list members and thank you for the opportunity to serve.

The representative from Diamond Quality Services was on-time and seemed very knowledgeable. He walked me through the steps he would take for the tune-up and explained the indications he was receiving on an electronic gauge of a refrigerant deficiency in my unit. He added 2 pound of refrigerant for ~$120, which seemed on the high side. However, I would recommend Diamond Quality Services.

Inspection was on time. He was not very talkative, but did answer my questions. He said it was a winter inspection and did not cover the summer componets, like the outside units. Overall I was satisfied.
Description of Work: Know what you paid for (I did not know it did not cover AC).

Description of Work: Diamond Quality Services serviced our heating and a/c systems. The work was completed quickly and efficiently. I had been told by other companys that my a/c needed to be replaced because it was leaking freon. It turned out not to be the case. They didn't need to add freon and my system finished out the summer without any problems. It is nice to do business with honest people. JLW

They were punctual, polite, and gave me options on a small repair I needed. It was cheaper to do it right then rather than pay another service charge, so they made the repair at a very fair cost.
Description of Work: Seasonal heating check on two units. Checked for leaks, accuracy, any repairs needed.

The service was satisfactory, I had a problem with the deal. I scheduled the service, and immediately I was able to get someone out within a couple of days. The technician could not perform his duties on that day because apparently my ac coils were frozen and needed thawing out. A couple days later the tech came back and perform his duties. The only problem about my experience was when the tech told me I need some freon added to the system. I contacted the office inquiring to why I was not receiving freon with my service. The lady explained that a turn-up did not include freon, the tech only came out to check and make sure all components were working. This was my problem. I did not know I was purchasing a ac checkup (which is what it is), I thought I was getting a tune-up (like you would with a car). To make matters worse, after explaining to her what I was expecting, she informed me that the freon deal was $10 more and I should have purchased that one. At that moment, I had to pay the normal rate for freon in order for the tech to add some to my system. Take it as you may, but I felt like she could have offered to go ahead and have the tech add the freon and I pay the different from the deal I had to the deal with the freon ($10 + tax).
Description of Work: The technician came out and checked the ac unit (working parts, filter, and freon).
