Diamond Quality Services provided us with the best customer service and care that we have ever received from any company. As soon as we made contact with Diamond Quality Services we were treated like part of their family. The earliest appointment was given to us and they were prompt with a heads up call prior to arriving. This is the second or third time I've used Diamond Quality Services. They are fair, dependable, professional, and customer service-oriented. Last year it was to replace an evaporator coil. They never try to upsell me on anything, but I did not want to deal with trying to have Goodman replace my compressor (even though it was under warranty). I've been told by several friends that also had Goodman's that it's very hard to get them to do anything. I did not want to risk having no air conditioning this summer. Brandon, a very capable and knowledgeable young man, came out and confirmed it was the compressor that was going bad. I had had another contractor out previously who said the same thing, but they wanted to replace my entire system (3 ton-13 seer) with a (3.5 ton 14 seer) for $6700. Brandon assured me that a 3 ton would cool my 1875 square foot house just fine. I really didn't need a whole new system since I just had the evaporator coil replaced last year, so this saved me $3600!!! Rita is the lady who answers the phone. She's a GEM, too! She even called me later in the evening to follow up with me. Who does that??? Even though they had a pretty full schedule the following week, because it was my only unit and it wasn't cooling, she set me up for the following Monday (this was on Friday). Monday, Brandon and another associate showed up early. Unfortunately, it started pouring rain right in the middle of the installation, so they packed it up and were to return the next day. When Brandon showed up promptly on Tuesday, the shop where he had picked up a part, had given him the wrong size and it was after 5:00 by now, so he came back yesterday and finished up. It's working beautifully! AND, if you're able to pay cash, they offer a 5% discount! I can't say enough good things about this company and I have referred friends to them. This is a company you can TRUST!

I agreed to this work and he came out to do the repairs on Friday June 6th. That evening we had a huge puddle in our living room so I called and he came back out to try to fix the issue. Over the weekend we had no more leaks but this morning we have major water damage to the ceiling as well as warm air blowing out of the system. Scott refuses to come out to make the corrections to the installation or repair the damage to the house. PLEASE DONT USE DIAMOND QUALITY SERVICES.
Description of Work: During the annual check up, I asked how I could better cool two rooms that were warmer than the rest of the house. Scott suggested that we install extra ductwork and replace the capacitors.

It is our opinion your wrongdoing is a violation of the trust placed in you within this public forum. The information you intentionally neglect to disclose to everyone in your misleading statements; we, Diamond Quality Services will trust to the member community and will bring to light. Now we, Diamond Quality Service bring in accurate documentation, details and timelines: From the beginning, The member had contacted us after we emailed our existing customers that it was time for a seasonal tune up before summer kicked in to 100+ degree temperatures. The member contacted us and said she would like to see about improving air flow to all the rooms in her house as we had suggested on appointment the previous year, providing it was affordable to her. One of our technicians-Brandon, went out and performed the system inspections and recommended return plenums, return ducting size increase, and replacing duct board triangles with metal wyes. Poor air distribution is a very common problem in many homes. Additionally Brandon found 2 capacitors out of tolerance that should be replaced based on manufacturer recommendations. The member authorized and scheduled the work be done. Scott (owner), technician Brandon, and technician John went out on Friday June 6 to perform the ducting corrections. The work was completed by approximately 2 pm. The temperature was elevated inside since both systems were off. The temperature was a little over 80 degrees so the systems were going to run longer than normal to bring the temperature down to more comfortable levels inside the home. At around 7 pm we received a phone call from the member stating that water was coming through her ceiling. Scott was almost home from his last service call for the day. He turned around and went back to the members home to identify the problem. When Scott arrived at the residence the member/homeowner explained that a pipe was leaking in the attic. Scott went into the attic to see what the cause was. He identified a drain vent pipe overflowing with water. This had nothing to do with the work from earlier in the day and he explained that to the member. The vent pipe did not have an extension on it because the original installer placed a duct directly over the top of the vent pipe opening. Only about 1.5" was available to put an extension on the vent pipe. There was a condensate shutoff switch on the drain line as well, but would not fill up far enough to shut off the unit because of the short vent pipe. Scott installed extension on the vent pipe so the condensate switch would be effective in shutting down the lower system. Scott traced the drain line and found both air conditioning systems drained down the same pipe, but one system was elevated about a foot above the other. This causes a problem if there is a plugged drain line. The condensate shut off switch will turn off the lower unit, but the upper unit will not recognize the restriction and will continue to overflow the other system. Scott attempted to unplug the drain line, but it would not come unplugged. When blowing out a drain line a partial release of the blockage is possible and this appeared to be the problem. Scott requested bleach from the member and he poured approximately 1.5 cups of bleach down the plugged/partial plugged drain. The member was warned about the issue on Friday June 6, which we Diamond Quality Service had not caused nor created. On Friday evening June 6, Scott proceeded to explain to the member that the drain was restricted and the vent pipe was not installed properly, and to compound the problem the other unit feeds into the lower unit creating a potential problem if the drain is plugged regardless of the vent pipe on the lower system. The member then told Scott that a previous remodel was done and that one drain line was connected to another drain line behind a wall that could not be accessed without removing sheetrock. Scott offered to come back to the members home Saturday morning to verify the drain flowed properly after the bleach had a chance to kill any microbial growth causing the blockage. Scott offered 10 am, the member asked for later. Scott offered 11 am or 12 pm. The member preferred 12 pm. Scott dropped his family off at Grapevine Mills Mall on his way to the members home. About 15 minutes away Scott called the member to notify the member he was almost there. The member did not answer (the member later informed us the number we had as the primary number was no longer a good number). Scott arrived at the members home a couple minutes after 12 pm. He rang the doorbell and waited about 30 seconds then knocked on the door and waited again about another 30 seconds with no answer, Scott knocked at the door again then walked back to his truck for a business card and walked back to the door. Scott tucked his business card in the weatherstripping of the door above the deadbolt. Member did not show up for appointment at members home. Did not call us until 5 days later. There was no call from the member on Saturday afternoon or evening, no call on Sunday or Monday and no call from the member on Tuesday or Wednesday. The member called Thursday morning at 6:54 am and told our dispatcher, Rita, she had water coming thru her ceiling again and Rita let the member know she would contact Scott. The member then called back 4 minutes later at 6:59 am. On the call Rita let the member know that Scott was at the members home on Saturday at 12 pm for the appointment and that no one was home and that Scott left a business card in the door. The member got angry and said they were home until 1 pm. And again, Rita our dispatcher, let the member know about contacting Scott. At 7:16 am the member called back again and Rita let the member know that Scott could come out around 11 am and the member (screamed) you better have good insurance because your going to need it and (demanding) we come out now. Rita, our dispatcher told the member she would have Scott give her a call and then Rita ended the call and hung up. Scott returned the members call at 7:19 am and spoke with the member until 7:24 am. Scott let the member know he could be there by 11 am and may be able to make it there as early as 9:30 am. The member then threatened suing for the water damage to her ceiling and possibly her floor. Scott then said to the member again that we did not cause the water problem and now that she/the member is threatening legal action he is not sure if he should come out, and so first, will need to check with his attorney to find out what the proper protocol would be. She then said she would stop payment on services rendered and sue if that's what Scott wanted. Scott explained again that now he would need to contact his attorney before moving forward. Scott left a message for his attorney to call. Scott attempted to contact the member at approximately 10:30 am and left a message on the members phone to inform her that he had not heard back from the attorney yet but that he would keep her posted. Scott spoke with the attorney at approximately 3:45 pm to 3:55 pm and was told that going to the members home would be okay. Scott attempted to contact the member at approximately 3:57 pm to inform the member the he could in fact come out. He left a message as the member did not answer the phone. The phone rang twice and went straight to voicemail as if the phone was being silenced? Then Scott left a message on the members voicemail informing the member to contact him at the members convenience and Scott left his cell phone number again. The only contact we have received from the member at this point is an inaccurate and deceitful portrayal of the events. As for the warm air blowing out of one of the cooling systems that is because the vent pipe was installed which triggered the condensate safety switch to shut the condensing unit off which was also explained to the homeowner as a possibility on Friday evening June 6. We at Diamond Quality Service always take responsibility for our actions. In the event that any member would take the time to read and research our reviews it will/should be obvious this is an outlier, someone unhappy that bullying didn't work out for them. We provide service beyond expectation, that is what we do, and that is why Scott was taking the time to help this member/customer out with her problem that was not the cause of or the responsibility of Diamond Quality Services. The pro technicians at Diamond Quality Services are very thorough in diagnosing refrigerant levels per recommended manufacturer specifications. When refrigerant levels are several pounds out, this can create a worsening condition whereby the AC system works inefficiently harder to cool, typically shortening serviceable life and possibly costing the member/homeowner much sooner to replace due to a premature system failure. *It is very important that refrigerant levels are properly maintained over the life of any system. (Prior) to our technician adding the recommended/required amount of refrigerant the additional work was authorized by the members wife/sister/friend who was there to meet our technician at time of the appointment. Both agreed the additional refrigerant was needed and required to be added to bring the freon back within recommended manufacturer specifications. Once again, thank you for your support. We called Diamond Quality in panic when our old furnace gave out two days after we brought our newborn home from the hospital. The crew came out to install a new furnace and worked into the night to have us up and running, all the while sharing stories of their own kids. Every member of the staff is kind, knowledgable, and honest. We used them again two months later to totally overhaul our A/C system.

Can't speak highly enough of Diamond Quality Services. We new we wanted to overhaul our 20+ year old a/c system in our 1959 house. We got several bids from other a/c companies for how to upgrade our system and solve the problem of the temperature disparity in the two stories of our house. Previously we never could get the upstairs cooled, no matter what temperature we set the downstairs thermostat at. Every single company we got bids from had different ideas of how to solve the problem--most wanted to put in a 15 SEER system. After an initial inspection, our first technician said he wanted to come back after brainstorming with other technicians on the best way to solve the problem. A couple of days later, Diamond Quality explained that they did not think the square footage of our house constituted a larger a/c system, rather that the current 13 SEER size needed more room to breathe and a smarter ductwork system. They proposed adding strategic returns and ductwork and moving the condenser into the attic. After working with Diamond Quality on several small projects, we decided to go with them for our overhaul and I'm EXTREMELY glad we did. We now are able to separately control the upstairs and downstairs temperature, all from one a/c unit. Previously, we needed a portable a/c unit in the windows upstairs to keep the rooms at a bearable temperature, and now I have found myself adjusting the thermostat upstairs in order to not freeze out my daughter's bed room. We paid far less than we would have if we had let the other a/c companies put in a larger system, and I think we ended up with a far superior result. These guys know what they are doing! Every single time we've contacted Diamond Quality we've had a positive experience. I will use them for any project, large or small, and would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Total overhaul of A/C system. Removed old a/c system, moved pad from front yard to back yard, and installed new Ruud 13 SEER a/c system. Installed new ductwork throughout the house, and returns in the stairwell, added three zone systems with damper and thermostats for each.

The repair was scheduled for later in the afternoon and they called and said they could come in the morning (which was great!). The repairman noted that the unit was actually iced over and therefore he had to wait for it to thaw before running his diagnostic tests. It was another person who came back in the afternoon and he told us there was no problem with the unit itself. The filter was blocking the air flow. Since we replaced the filter the night before, it would start cooling down again after all the ice thawed. I really liked that the repairman was professional and very honest in his assessment. Would definitely use them again in the future!

We have used Diamond Quality before and they are easy to deal with and the technician has always been professional, friendly and punctual. One of the problems located by the technician could indicate the unit is coming to the end of its life, but there was no sales pitch. The technician performed a service that would keep the unit functioning and explained what to watch for in the future. Completely satisfied with the service.

Another reputable company who says they are #1 informed me that I was in need of a new A/C. I called around to get quotes (just to do my due diligence) and Rita informed me not to fall for this gimik. She sent one of her A/C Tech/Comfort Experts to our home and he checked our home out. I informed him of what other company tech had told me and pointed out the "problem/issue" areas. Well, to my surprise, I was informed of what I was told was incorrect. He described what this pieces did in response to unit and said there was no need to replace my unit at all. Thank you again Diamond for the honesty and for saving me 13k.

The dust justed seemed to come back too often. I finally told my husband there has to be a reason and a way to fix the problem. I called and setup an appointment for Monday, April 7th for a proposal of work to fix the problem. We received quote onsite and requested work to be done. There was a window of time available on Friday, April 11th so I booked it. The guys were late but called to let us know they ran into an issue with what was supposed to be a 30 minute job that turned out to be a 2 hour job. The ducts in the attic were not sealed only bolted together. They sealed all of the ducts, capped the return vents near the floor and put in 2 larger return vents in the ceiling. They also removed an attic fan. These 2 men worked extremely hard, kept us informed of their progress and did an excellent job. They cleaned up after themselves so no leftover mess for us to deal with. It's early days yet but we can already tell that the a/c unit is not running as much. I would definitley use this company again.
Description of Work: Sealed sheet metal ducting, capped off floor return vents, added 2 16" return vents in in ceiling and removed attic fan.

The service has been good. They are pretty busy for routine appointments but they can get out quickly for emergency appointments. They stay very busy.
Description of Work: I had a part on the air conditioning unit that went out and they replaced that. I have them scheduled for two weeks to do maintenance on the air conditioning system before summer.

I lined it up for them to come out. They were quick to set up the appointment. I ended up having the company who replaced the unit a year prior come out so I didn’t use their service.

We were very pleased with the service. We felt they did a thorough job. I had several questions about the amount of dust we had due to the area we live in. They were very professional and did a great job. It took them awhile to get the job done and they made sure to replace the grates in the ceiling.

The initial call to schedule appointment was quick and pleasant. The tech showed up late and seemed in a hurry to leave. He did a initial check that seem to be to quick. He never went to the AC unit which is located in the attic, His only inspection was the compressor outside. Unfortunately I later found out that the main and back up drip pan where cracked. I did find it before serious damage to the ceiling.

Member, In the last 2 years the member never contacted us regarding the concern stated in the members negative review. Also member, why not first contact the company directly to express and or resolve a concern, and then, persist with the negative review that would include an update regarding how the situation was handled? Additionally a two year old review such as this, obviously begs the question; (why has the member waited two years to post it?). We would also further the same question to Angie's List. Again, why would a member wait two years to post a negative review such as this? Notwithstanding the foregoing, Diamond Quality Services a highly rated company on Angie's list would prefer to hear the answer or it would be preferable at the least to understand prompts created and or being used, if any, to generate at best outdated, sketchy, uninformed depictions of the highly rated services we provide to all Angie's list members. We think that recalling a particular visit 2 years later would be challenging to most without documentation, which we keep in our records. In this particular event, 2 years ago, we visited the members home twice? Once for an air duct cleaning and again shortly thereafter for a complete AC tune up which at the time included charging the system with some refrigerant. No question at the time, 2 years ago, we were familiar with the members mechanical system both inside and out. We provide the intricate details below. The member purchased an Angie's List Big Deal on April 2 2012, but the work completed was on April 12, 2012. Additionally, we had cleaned the air ducts of the home one month prior to the tune up so we were familiar with the layout of the home and system. The single system tune up was completed on the 12th of April 2012. Both the attic unit and the condensing unit were inspected. A proper refrigerant check cannot be completed without verifying the air filter, blower wheel, and evaporative coil are clean. The voltage, current draw, and capacitor on the blower motor needs to be verified as well to make sure the blower motor is running at the proper speed for proper air movement over the evaporative coil. If the air flow is moving slower than designed the refrigerant will absorb more heat which will may cause sub 32 degree temperatures, the coil to freeze and, may allow liquid refrigerant back to the compressor which can result in catastrophic failure over a period of time. Compressors cannot compress liquid being returned to the compressor. Additionally, if the air flow is slower than designed, air coming off the coil-cooling the home, is colder than designed. This causes low air temperatures which can induce microbial growth with elevated attic temperatures. Two pounds of refrigerant was added to the system for proper operation. Again, refrigerant is not added unless proper operation of the system can be confirmed. We at Diamond Quality Services also charge systems by sub-cool or super-heat depending on the type of refrigerant metering device. Refrigerant charge is not verified by pressures, this only gives ballpark refrigeration charge information. ALL Manufactures give guidance on sub-cool and super-heat for proper system charging. Condensate drains can become plugged at any time. A system can be draining properly and within a week or two could become plugged. This is sometimes caused by poor plumbers trap design/installation at p-trap of sink drain piping, a clogged sink where the system drains the condensate to, or inadequate or unfiltered air going into the air conveyance system. If a filter is not installed or has not been replaced then debris can deposit on the coil and hopefully is rinsed off by the condensation. If not, the debris will typically start to grow mold on the evaporative coil. If debris does rinse off the coil it will commonly grow into mold in the condensate drain which can cause a limited restriction that will only become evident on a humid day or excessive system run time because of elevated temperatures. A complete blockage is much easier to identify. Member, we cannot comment on a cracked internal and/or external drain pan as this was not the case during the tune up, (2 years ago).
