Diamond was able to schedule a service call in the afternoon of the morning that I called requesting service. The technicians arrived within the specified time. The two technicians went directly to work and identified that I had a failed igniter. They stated that the replacement cost (including the new part) was $190. I felt that this cost was very high since the price of the replacement part is in the $25 to $50 range and the complexity of the replacement task is simple enough that there are several sites on the internet that provide the general procedure for replacement of a failed igniter (including the recommendation that the homeowner should keep a spare igniter on hand since this was a common furnace failure that could result in no heat until a repair man could be scheduled to swap the failed part out). I had researched this information earlier since I had heard the furnace go through its start-up sequence several times with no ignition and thus no heat (I had confirmed that the gas pressure was high enough to support the furnace ignition). Since I had already committed to paying for the service call, it was after 4 PM, and extremely cold weather was forecast for at least the next week; I agreed to having the failed part replaced. When I was asked to pay the total end amount, I was not provided a written bill nor was I presented with a video display (tablet, etc.) of my bill. I was told that I could receive an email containing a copy of my invoice, if I desired. I always like to visually review a bill before paying it - it often clarifies the presence or absence of subtle items that may be apart of a service activity. In addition, requiring the customer to add numbers in his/her head does not seem like a fair business practice. Later - when I did receive the invoice, the sender was [email protected], there was no text in the body of the email identifying that it had been generated by Diamond Quality Services, just an attached PDF document having no reference to "Diamond" in its document name. The "gmail.com" email service is a low cost service which always raises my concern of potential SPAM and I would not have opened the attachment had the email not arrive in close proximity to the promised invoice from Diamond. This invoice did not breakdown the charge for replacing the hot surface igniter by identifying the cost of the replacement part plus the associated labor charge.

Member, our prices are very fair and very reasonable in relation to the quality of work, quality of our technician(s) and high level of service we provide. You can always find cheaper and less qualified but understand the quality and service you receive will accordingly be revealed. The member needed a company to show up the same day and diagnose the problem honestly. The member contacted the right company, Diamond Quality Services. After our technician(s) diagnosed the problem and discussed the estimate for part and replacement the member agreed to have the work provided. The service call was $69 and the flat rate for the part/replacement was $190. The invoice the member received from Diamond Quality Services was accurate. The member paid no more to Diamond Quality Services than what was original to the diagnostic conversation with our certified technician(s). Our technician(s) are properly trained and certified and this does not happen without expense nor without an intent to deliver a high level of service to each member client we serve. Not that it's necessary to say because I think most people understand that the insurance, the fuel, the time invested for proper training and certifications; all to get a qualified technician to your home is not covered in the price you suggested in your review. We understand your opinion and that's ok however, we would ask you to consider much more than "online pricing" and "general instructions anyone can find on the Internet" before you disparage another company over the prices with which to be able to survive and run a business that you deem to be "very high". The 2-20" and 1-16" returns were added to help the system efficiently because the original system returns were undersized for the size of unit installed. Also the metal "y's" have less friction loss than the original junctions which increases air flow to the registers. The house is 25 years old so the insulation needed to be refreshed. Service was scheduled to begin at 8 am and be completed the same day. The crew showed up on time and worked until nearly 8 pm to complete the project. I am very impressed with the detail and pride they take in their work. They cleaned up after themselves and was very pleased with the project. The main reason we needed work was because we have two rooms that stay cold/hot no matter what the thermostat is set at. After the work was completed we still had the same issue but Diamond Quality Services offered to come back out and make things right and they did. The ended up installing two additional 12" returns directly into each room at their cost. Their stance was we gave a price to fix your problem and we will do what we have to fix it. That is great way to run a company. You stand by what you say and take care of the customer. I can't say how pleased I am with their work and attitude. You will not go wrong with Diamond Quality Services
Description of Work: Diamond Quality services added 2-20" returns, corrected duct work that was run inefficiently and re-suspended where needed, added 1-16" return, installed metal "Y's" at the junctions and installed 6" worth of blown-in insulation.

Diamond has been our "go to" HVAC repair since we first used their "Angie's List Check Up Special" in 2012. Their most recent call regarded freezing lines which would be covered with ice that then melted and drained into the walls below. The technician quickly diagnosed the problem and performed interim repairs. We will have to replace the equipment before the next a/c season... What makes Diamond special is that the technician first checked to see if they had installed the equipment so it fit under warranty. They hadn't, but he then checked with the manufacturer to see if they would warranty. It was past the date... My experience with other firms was that we had to do checks like this to enforce any warranty... Diamond also checks related equipment for mold or wear.

I scheduled the appointment and the tech showed up on time. He was efficient and checked inside unit, outside unit, and ductwork. He checked voltages and freon pressure. The system was performing normally. This was part of a home inspection prior to sale.

I originally scheduled an appointment for the service technician to come out at 1:00 PM, but the operator called back twice to reschedule my appointment. I ended up with a 4:00 to 6:00 window the following day. When they finally came out, the technician acted very rushed. I assume it was because I was his last appointment of the day. I was charged $195 to have my drain pipe unclogged. It took the technician and his apprentice no more than 15 minutes to do it. Thanks guys. I'm also getting estimates to replace my A/C unit, because it's out of date. So, I had several related questions for him. He answered them well and seemed to know his stuff, but again, I felt very rushed. He said they would work up an estimate and email it to me, but I never received one. I won't be using Diamond again. I feel they charged too much for the amount of work they did, and they didn't act like they needed my business anyhow.

Dear member, You are speaking of two of our top technicians. Fully trained and experienced with the overall situation at hand being faced with. First you did not require a new system proposal. You should remember this service call was 69 dollars and the clearing and cleaning of your drain line was 125. You were also offered a proposal on a new system and you said no. You said you you were just looking for information. Our technicians have more things to do than stand around around trying to convince someone they need more information than they say they require. Your appointment was rescheduled yes. It was rescheduled for the end of the day, which was whee you had asked for and our technicians drove approximately 55 miles to service you. The clearing of the line also took us more time than 15 minutes. We understand its easy to lose track of time when all you want is your system up and running as if nothing ever happened. Our technicians on site asked you prior to leaving if you had any other questions and you told our techs that you had given them all the information you wanted to give him at this time. It's hard to prepare a proposal for a new system this way, isn't it. We don't charge to much for our services, that absurd. Any other member can make the time to absolve themselves of this sort of rhetoric when acting on and performing and or doing their do diligence. Either way, we appreciate your time for the review but please if you review any other company on Angie's please just review the company with facts rather than innuendo. Our 30 year plus Lennox indoor and outdoor units began to falter due to old age, & I carefully reviewed all reference from family, friends, and Angie's List. Narrowed down to two, I decided upon Diamond because they sold the brand I was interested in buying and the other eligible company did not. I was not disappointed with my choice! Head man of the Company Scott and Secretary/Receptionist/Dispatcher Rita were diligent about answering all my questions and were patient with scheduling. Our first date was a rain-out (job can't be done in the rain), but the second scheduled date was dry and clear. Work began early in the morning and went on a total of eight to ten hours that day. Here's my advice: Before the work crew arrives clear kids, pets, and furniture well out of the way of the main "avenues" down which the action will take place between the outside and the area where the furnace is to be placed. Remember that this is "construction" work and you don't want kids or pets to have access to this area while the work is going on. Then, clear another "avenue" between the front door and the little access hatch in your ceiling where the work crew will need to gain access to your attic to put down the additional insulation. Lay down old sheets, blankets, or get some very thick plastic sheets to pave the avenue. Diamond Quality does an excellent job of protecting your home, however you can make it easier for everyone if you're willing to do some real "prep" work before they arrive to do the job. Diamond will also protect the area before beginning work, but you can make a positive impact by doing as much as you can before they arrive. Clean the area where the outside unit is to go. Mow the grass and make it easy for them to carry the old unit out....they'll need a nice wide avenue for this job and getting the new unit in. Cover everything around the access hatch with plastic sheeting.....furniture, rugs, clothing, etc. It simply isn't possible for a crew to do serious work up and down the access hatch without spreading a lot of dust and small pieces of insulation. Make it easy for the work crew & safe for your kids and pets, protect floors and furniture and cover everything near the access hatch & you'll be pleased that you did. Remember that the work crew will need access to a rest room and water and need parking space in front or near your house. The easier you can make it for any work crew to do their job, the easier it is for them to generate excellent results. My wife and I were very careful about doing our share before the work crew arrived & in rating Diamond I'm rating us as well. Diamond did their job and we did our job, too! Scott and crew were really excellent during installation & when they finished for the day the a/c unit was in the process of cooling down the house from the July heat. We were very pleased with their work, their clean-up, the care they took to cause as little mess as possible while working and avoid damage to our house or possessions. However, the depth of value of Diamond became clear two months after installation when it seemed that our outside unit started pouring out smoke. Scott came out the very next day after I emailed and phoned Rita, and Scott spent hours examining our unit to be sure it was all right. Long story short, the unit of the duplex next to us had blown a compressor & on that day the wind was just right where it blew the smoke over to our unit where it was pulled in and expelled out the top, making it appear that our unit was kaput. Scott was patient and explained the tests he was performing on our unit. When he'd determined that the neighbor's unit was responsible, I could see that he was correct when I shined a flashlight into it and saw the compressor burn marks and the fluid the neighbor's unit had thrown all over the inside of the unit as the force of the compressor's failure scorched their wiring. It turned out that the neighbor needed an electrician and a replacement compressor along with a lot of other new parts. Our unit had not malfunctioned in any way, but circumstances gave it the appearance of having done so. I was sorry for our neighbor, but glad it wasn't our new unit that had failed. Having had the pleasure of working with Scott, Rita, and crew at Diamond Quality Services, I know that they'll do their job exceptionally well. Now.. if you'll do your prep work and get everything shipshape before they arrive to perform any major work, then you'll be pleased to give them a very high rating, too because you become in fact a contributor to the result rather than a spectator. The price was very fair for the value received. Remember that the main work will take at least a full workday start to finish, and plan your day accordingly. The services of an electrician might also be needed to bring your system up to city code. We had an electrician come out the next day to do the necessary electrical work to bring our system up to code from the original installation back in 1982....Scott is able to advise on this, as it all depends on the current setup before installation of the new unit. And, the city inspector came out several weeks after installation....the work needs to get approved by them within six months of installation. I wasn't worried because Scott at Diamond had done the work and the city inspector passed the job after inspecting the outside unit and the inside furnace...wasn't a problem at all. But, you can understand that the entire process requires you to take a full day off work for the installation, half a day for the electrical work, and half a day for the inspection. Wasn't a problem for me, but you need to know about it going in so you can arrange things at your job. Because I recommend Diamond Quality Services to my family and closest friends, I recommend them to you as well!

Went great. It was a bit on the pricey side but they did repair my AC promptly. My attic ladder got broken in the process of the technician going up and down my wooden attic ladder. That will be another expense for me but all part of owning a home. I would recommend them to anyone.

Great. The technician was on time, even called ahead when they were on the way to our address. They inspected the entire system and recommended that I replace the cooling coil. When I inquired about replacing the entire system, the technician told me the unit was only eight years old and had a normal service life of 15 to 20 years. He also told me that if/when the outside compressor unit needs replacing I should replace the refrigerant with the new formulation. He said the coil they were installing would work well with the new formula. The new coil was installed the next day and has been working as expected.

We had old AC unit outside that broke. So called up about 5 companies one of them Diamond. Before that a good friend diagnosed a leak and said we'll be better replacing it. He also told us what we want to replace it with and we checked the price. Unfortunately he doesn't do replacements, he just works in a big commercial company. Diamond representative came on time and same day, may be 30 min after I called. Out of 5 companies that came since him he was the only one who actually gave us honest opinion and therefore I believe also that he knew what he was doing because we already knew exact problem and what needs to be done to fix it. He recommended 410 A and replace a part on the inside unit to fit it with that system. His price $4000. We actually found a friend who done that for less but at least he gave an honest opinion.

Scheduler and service techs were very professional and courteous. I'd recommend Diamond to anyone, and I would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: Our air stopped working Monday evening. We contacted Diamond through Angie's List and by Tuesday morning had a same day appointment between noon and 3:00pm. Service tech called at 12:15pm to let us know he was about 30 minutes away, and was at my house 35 minutes later. He asked me a few questions about what the air was doing or not doing, and spent a few minutes looking at the unit. He figured it was a bad capacitor and told me how much it would cost to change it out before he did any work. He changed it out, fired it up, and it was as good as new in about half an hour.

They came on time, diagnosed the problem and returned in two days with the correct part. They also filed for a warranty on the part without my asking! That reduced the cost of the job by about 25%. They are a company that has figured out how to turn lemons (broken A/C unit in the middle of August in Texas) into lemonade (responsive, on time, on budget, professional)!

This company went above and beyond and I would highly recommend them. Our AC went out on a weekend and I sent in an appointment request through Angie's list which was answered first thing Monday morning. Although the company was scheduling a few days out, Rita was kind enough to work us in that day ( which we were very grateful for as we have a 2 week old baby and could not stay in a house without AC). Brandon came out and assessed the situation adding freon to our system over the next couple days followed with Scott coming out to replace a part and only charging us the initial quote. I appreciate that this company really put the customer first and tried the least costly fixes first. They took the time to monitor the situation over the next couple dats to ensure the problem was fixed and even offered to set up a portable unit if we needed to stay in the house. Wonderful company and great people. We will use them in the future for sure. Highly recommended!

Scott, Rita and the entire DQS team are first class folks. I talked to several HVAC contractors and Scott had the best solution at the best price. If you are considering a zoned system - talk to Scott.. Zoned systems (awesome HVAC solution by the way) are newer technology and I don't think a lot of contractors are up to speed on the technology yet. This was a big boy job and four guys worked their tails off and got it done. We could not be happier with the whole experience. p.s. Coincidentally prior to this work being done, we had one of our units start blowing hot air (no A/C). This was August, an old unit and my wife and I were prepared for the worst. I called Rita and she scheduled someone very quickly. Turns out it was only a motor issue (not the "you need a whole new unit" you expect from most HVAC outfits). Whew!
Description of Work: Installed complete zone system, including zone panel, 4 zone dampers, 3 new thermostats and 1 return bypass. Added a duct return and re-sized two existing returns.

I called on Tuesday to have them come out- mentioning the Angie's List reduced service call price. My air conditioner was blowing out hot air. At first, she said they couldn't come until Thursday, and I set that up. Then she found a way to get them here on Wednesday afternoon. They came out- after first calling to let me know they would be there in 20 minutes. There were 2 men, who were polite, they removed their shoes when they entered, even though I didn't ask them to. They went outside to the unit, repaired it at a part/ labor cost of about 190. They checked the freon ; I gladly paid them and they left. I think they were honest about what was wrong; it works now . I think I paid a fair price and would definitely use them again.

We are extremely pleased with the service and high quality of workmanship that Diamond Quality Services provided. They fixed in 2 days (it was a time of day issue with the A/C unit) what two other companies couldn't figure out or fix in weeks of trying. We are so very pleased with Diamond Quality Services and their knowledge of Trane A/C units. They charged a very modest fee for their work, and they showed at the time arranged. Working with Diamond Services was great. I called to get a service appointment on the same day. They said that they would see what they could and call me back . I was able to get an appointment that afternoon but after a cancellation my appointment was moved up to 10am. They arrived on time and were very professional. After inspecting the AC unit they quickly diagnosed the problem and were able to fix it quickly. I will definitely use Diamond Services again in the future for all of my AC and Heating services.
Description of Work: The provider come out for a service call on my air conditioner. After inspecting the AC unit they determined that I was low on Freon. After replacing the Freon the unit was back to working like normal.

The tune-up went well -- no issues. They replaced the filters and we didn't have any issues with the unit immediately afterwards. There were no issues with scheduling, either. We've since installed new units and we'll be using that company to service them.

This all started with an assessment performed by another A/C repair company. They recommended I replace my 16 year old system and I found Diamond Quality Services on Angie's list when looking for someone to give me a second opinion. After assessing my current system, Brandon confirmed that a new system was an appropriate decision (not too much of a surprise!) but provided valuable feedback regarding how to approach the replacement. Specifically, the size of the unit, where to place returns, supplies, types of duct work, etc... I appreciated his patience as he explained how a system works end to end and continued to take my phone calls as I had follow up questions based on internet research and feedback from friends. Before we could schedule an appointment, my AC unit stopped working on a Wednesday night. We called Diamond Quality Services on Thursday morning and Rita moved several Friday tune-up appointments to accommodate a Friday installation. They showed up at 6am and were done before they left that evening. The crew was very efficient and did whatever it took to get the job done as promised including working with me as installation hiccups came up. One example included running to home depot to get a sledge hammer to remove the exceptionally heavy concrete slab from the old unit so it could be replaced with an appropriate sized slab. The team also gave me options when placing return vents, including some that required them to remove attic decking. Also, I installed a Nest with my last system and Brandon stayed late to make sure the Nest worked with the new one as expected (including calling nest to troubleshoot issues). Overall it was a very enjoyable experience. It's never fun writing a check that large but I don't have buyer's remorse and feel comfortable calling Diamond Quality Services if anything pops up.
