Although some people turn up their noses at the location, (probably because it is not in North Dallas), the old Whites Auto Store serves the puspose. It gives them enough room to display carpets and sample vinyl. They know carpets and vinyl flooringIt took only a few minutes to select the carpet for the master bedroom and the vinyl flooring. Since I live out of town and have delt with these folks before, I had no problem paying by credit card in advance. The installers arrived on time and were through by 11:00 am. Carpet Outlets delivered the same great service I have come to expect from them
Description of Work: These folks know what they are doing. Almost any carpet company has people who can lay carpet, but few have anyone who can lay sheet vinyl flooring. My kitchen looks great with its white vinly flooring. They also replaced the carpet in the master bedroom.

Awesome experience. We read about Carpet Outlets on Angie's List and were impressed by the reviews so we drove over on a Saturday morning. We talked with Marty in the store and told him why we were there, what we wanted to do, and how we found out about them and he did the rest. He found us a great deal on just what we wanted. He was out the next Monday evening to measure and finalize the order. Two days (Thursday) later they called to schedule the installation, and they arrived as scheduled on Monday to install. The three guys hit the house like a well-oiled machine. They had the furniture all moved and were ripping out carpet in about 20 minutes. They did little things like screw down some loose boards in the floor (upstairs) and spread baking soda to remove some odor in another room. They were very efficient, very fast, and careful. They did a great job of putting things back where they came from before they left. They did a great job of cleaning up after themselves also, no mess left behind. We highly recommend and would certainly use them again.
Description of Work: They removed and disposed of old carpet & pad and installed new carpet & pad. In addition they moved all of the furniture in the rooms they were working on.

Marty, the person that worked with us in their showroom, was very knowledgeable and helpful. He was very honest about certain dos and don'ts when it comes to choosing carpets. It really did help us in narrowing down our choice of carpets and to decide on what worked the best for us. Bruce, the owner of the company was very professional and a pleasure to work with. He was easily reachable over the phone and kept us updated throughout the project. He took the measurements in our house, brought us samples, helped us finalize on the carpet, and was receptive to specific concerns that we had about the job. We ended up choosing a very good quality carpet at a very competitive price; It was very good value for the money. We also got a free pad upgrade based on Angies List coupon. The crew that came to install the carpet were great as well. They were punctual, very professional and polite. Our specific requests during installation were addressed promptly. They did an excellent job installing the new carpet and cleaning up after themselves. They took good care to prevent any damage to the existing wood floors in the rest of the house during the installation of the carpet. It was a long drive to Mesquite to decide on the carpet, but was well worth it! We are very happy with this whole experience and have recommended them to many of our friends. We highly recommend the company and would definitely use them in the future. Oh, they have so many fabulous clocks for sale too. We will visit them when we choose to buy one.
Description of Work: We had carpets replaced in all our bedrooms by Carpet Outlets of Texas. The area covered was about 100 square yards.

Our entire experience with Carpet Outlets of Texas was just wonderful. It began with a trip to the company's showroom in Mesquite. We were greeted by Marty Gelino, who despite having just sat down for a late lunch, was more than happy to help us. We told Marty we were interested in engineered wood flooring in a medium brown color. We received quite an education that afternoon! Not only did we learn about current trends in wood flooring, warranties, UV coatings, etc..., but we learned what to look for when we spoke with other flooring companies. We spent about an hour with Marty and left the showroom with a couple of samples to take home and look at in the different rooms of our house at different times of the day, something HE encouraged us to do! A few days later, Marty came out to our home to measure the rooms & hallways in which we wanted to have the wood flooring installed. We were on the fence with a couple of rooms, so he prepared 2 quotes...one which included the rooms in question & one that excluded them. When Marty left our home that morning, we had "strong estimates" in hand, and he had a drawing to which he could refer should the installers have any questions or encounter any problems during the installation process. I say "strong estimates" because until a job gets going, it is uncertain how much leveling compound will be needed, so we knew there would likely be an added charge for this when the job was finished. We did due diligence and checked into a couple other flooring companies, but we just had a really good "gut feeling" about Carpet Outlets of Texas, so about 10 days after our initial visit to the showroom, we called Marty and gave him the good news. That afternoon, he faxed a contract out to us. Bruce Moreland, the owner, came to our home, picked up a down payment, and took our samples back to the showroom. For all of you who have fond memories of college days spent in College Station, Bruce is an Aggie. By the time I learned this, we had already made our decision to use his company, but if you enjoy giving your business to fellow Ags, call Bruce!Five days later, 72 boxes of engineered wood flooring was delivered to our home. Flooring needs a couple days to acclimate in its new home environment before it is installed. Don't worry; the wood remained in the cartons in which it was delivered. Two days llater, the installers showed up to begin the process of "making over" our house. The team's lead was a lovely man by the name of Noe Camacho. He and his team spent 5 days in our home and installed close to 2,000 square feet of flooring!! They moved lots of furniture....lots ofreally heavy furniture! They removed carpet, carpet padding, tack strips & nails. They tested the concrete slab in each room for moisture content & leveled the concrete slab when necessary. They primed countless feet of quarter trim moulding, which they attached & caulked to the baseboards after the flooring was installed. They would have painted the trim/moulding too, but we have several different shades of white, so we said we would take care of the painting! They cleaned up whatever mess they made each day and hauled off the debris to the company's dumpster. After our floors were installed, we receive a follow up call from Tina. She wanted to know if we were happy with our floors, if we had any problems/questions/concerns. We liked that...good customer service even AFTER the work is finished! Throughout the process, the team smiled, sang & laughed...a lot! It may sound odd, but my husband & I were really impressed by this. Our feeling is that a happy team is a team that enjoys its work, and people who enjoy their work tend to produce quality results. And we were right. Our floors are absolutely gorgeous. And they were installed by professional, friendly, courteous, happy men. As glad as we were to reclaim our home and our lives, I must admit I was a little sad we wouldn't be seeing Noe and his team again. As he left, Noe said, "I love my job. I can't imagine doing anything else." My husband and I are very grateful he feels that way! And when we replace the icky linoleum flooring in our kitchen and bathrooms, you can be sure we'll be returning to Carpet Outlets of Texas to choose our tile, and we'll be requesting Noe & his team of installers! P.S. When the job was complete, we had 4 boxes of flooring left over. We elected to keep 2 in case the floor is damaged in the future and we need to make repairs. My husband returned the other 2 boxes to Carpet Outlets of Texas today for a full refund. Pretty great, right?!

Great, the owner came out to measure. Lovely guy. Tina at their store is so friendly and sweet and knows her stuff. Only thing I would look out for is the installers at the end of the job rushed to put things back and never property put our adjustable bed back together. I asked him if he had done this before and he barked for "yes for 20 years" I mean't not the carpet install but putting a sleep by number bed back together. Anyway 2 days latter my husband had to take it apart and redo it. Carpet was installed well but make sure you ask to keep the extra off cuts as I will get them bound for entrance rugs and they had already loaded them on the truck and where very quick to get out of here.

I cannot say enough positive comments about Marty and Carpet Outlets of Texas. It was a little bit of a drive for me (I live in North Dallas) and they are located in Mesquite - but it was worth the trip. I visited his showroom on Sunday, he came out late Tuesday to measure and the following Monday the carpet for 3 bedrooms was installed. Clean, profession and I would use again.

Researched on Angie's List. Went to store. Picked out carpet. Installers showed up ontime on agreed date. They spoke little english and clearly didn't understand me. Next time, I'll insist on at least 1 native english speaker being present during the actual work.

We went to Carpet Outlets based on their excellent reviews posted on Angie’s List. From the time we entered the Mesquite store we were impressed. Tina showed us several floors and gave us pros and cons for each type of laminate and even on some carpeting that we were considering. We scheduled an in-home measure for later in the week and Marty came to measure and gave us a good price on the flooring. It was much lower than we expected. We told Marty we wanted to get a couple more estimates. He wasn’t pushy at all and even encouraged us to get other estimates and asked that if we received a lower estimate than his to let him know and he would try and match it. We priced a couple of home improvement store flooring prices and decided that Carpet Outlets was better priced than those. And with the Angie’s List reviews we didn’t really call any other flooring stores. We scheduled the floors to be installed a few weeks later. The installers were very friendly, professional, and took their time. The first day my husband and I noticed that a piece of the shoe molding was broken in the kitchen (right next to where the new floors were going in) after the installers had left for the day. The installers replaced it before we even had a chance to mention it to them. The floors have been installed and we couldn’t be happier so far. The installers cleaned up any mess they made and the floors look great. We will definitely use Carpet Outlet when we tile our bathrooms and kitchen in the next few months.

I contacted Tina at Carpet Outlets of Texas, Inc. Mesquite location. We discussed the rough costs of replacement carpeting, and she explained that they wouldn't drive out to Keller just to measure for an estimate (it's too far, and I have no problem with that) but that they could do an estimate from my measurements. She also explained that for an accurate estimate, I needed to visit their store because of all the variables in selecting a carpet. I drove over to their store, and found it to be located in a tired strip center. However, inside the store was a different world. Well arranged displays showed all sorts of flooring options with good lighting. I had Marty assist me and my wife in looking at carpeting, after he took my measurements and figured up the needed amount of carpet. Now let me stop here and get into some details that most salesmen won't tell you: 1) Carpet prices "by the foot" are a scam. Carpet comes in a 12 foot wide roll and cannot be installed in just any direction. Marty figured the needed size of carpet both ways (grain north-south or east-west) and got 87 yards either way, including a fudge factor of around 10%. (For the math inclined, that's 4 yds wide [remember it's a 12 foot roll] by 21.75 yds long for 87 yards) Carpet is sold "by the yard", not the foot, but the per foot price grabs people attention as it is easier to visualize. If you have a 50 foot long hall that's 7 feet wide, it is only 350 sq/ft or 38.9 sq/yds..but you HAVE to buy 600 sq/ft or 66.7 sq/yds of carpet unless they have scraps they can use. 2) The Marty steered us away from the carpeting until we talked about what we needed. When he heard we have cats, he immediately knew what type of carpet to recommend. He showed us a Mohawk carpet that has a warranty against staining from pets and that would not run. He then showed us the big brother of that carpet and pulled out pieces of padding so we could feel the difference between the two carpet samples with padding on the floor. He didn't hustle us to the more expensive carpet (the first one would have cost about $600 less installed due to cheaper carpet and bulk buys of this cheaper carpet that is often used in apartments) and we ended up selecting the upgraded carpet (Mohawk Pleasing Touch). 3) Then Marty spent time on the padding, discussing the difference between 6 pound and 8 pound felt, and again pulled out samples for us to compare. We elected to go with the 8 pound felt to improve the life of the carpet. After all this, we decided to go with Carpet Outlets of Texas and their estimate of $2200 and scheduled a measurement the next business day. Bruce showed up to measure for the carpets, and he explained several things and then got the numbers back to the store for them to order the carpet. Before he left, he called Tina and got a stock check on the selected carpet and color (using 100 yards, just in case) and we scheduled an install four days later. The final number was 89 yards, but they declined to increase the estimate. On the install day, we moved all the light stuff, the breakables, and certain electronics before they arrived. The three installers arrived and got right to work. They moved all the heavy furniture, tore up the old carpet and pad, swept, repaired the tack strips and transition strips, installed the new pad and carpet, cleaned up, moved the funiture back, and left (hauling the old carpet and pad with them) in a total of three and a half hours for around 800 sq/ft of carpet. They were fast, quiet, practiced, and good! The new carpet is great, the 8 pound pad is not too firm, but feels wonderful. The musty smell from the one bedroom was traced to stains on the back of the old carpet and on the old pad...and the installers helped us follow Marty's advise to sprinkle a little baking powder on the concrete before installing the new pad to help ensure no old odors remain. For the price we paid, I feel we got a steal on this purchase and install. The carpet has a nice long warranty and the business is very reputable. I will be using this business again when the time comes to replace more flooring. In closing, an interesting note. The bathrooms at a business can tell a lot about the business. The bathrooms at the Carpet Outlets of Texas Mesquite store are old style and, honestly, a little tired. However, they are also spotlessly clean and smell clean too! These people are spending their money where it counts, and making other things work longer by doing things right.
Description of Work: Assisted in selection of replacement carpeting for 2 bedrooms, a master bedroom, a hall, an entry, and closets in all these areas. Measuring carpeted areas for replacement. In both cases I was very happy with the service from price through installation. I would highly recommend the company when you need carpet.
Description of Work: This is the second house I have purchased new carpet for.
We searched multiple carpet stores all over the metroplex. From Burleson, to Weatheford, Arlington, Hurst, Ft. Worth and Dallas. When we walked into Carpet Outlets of Texas in Mesquite we knew right away it was totally different than any other place we had gone to. The outside is not anything special compared to some of the other carpet stores we have been to. The selection is large and since we new the kind of carpet we wanted and the type of pad, Marty, the sales person did not waste our time on anything thing else. He did show us a couple of other types of carpet that were in the same range and explained the differences to us. He also asked about the traffic we had in the house, any pets, children etc. He was informative but not pushy!! We also wanted to get new granite countertops to replace the 15 year old counter tops we had and again, Marty was very helpful. He even suggested a new backsplash and since the quote he gave us for the granite and carpet was below the other quotes we had received so far we knew we had a little to spend and decided to go with the new backsplash!! There was a problem with the granite when it was delivered. The sink area was cut for a 60/40 size sink with the larger side, the 60% on the left hand side. We originally wanted the larger side, the 60% to be on the right hand side. There was two options at the time of the installation. One was to accept the granite as it was and the installers would be out the next day with the correct sink or they could take it all back and we could go pick out a totally new piece of granite and start the process again. We decided to go ahead with the one they originally brought out and after speaking to Marty at the store he assured us he would take care of the problem and he did. We are very happy with the carpet, granite and backsplash and after spending very close to $8000.00 - we do not have any reservations in going back in the future even tho the store is close to 65 miles from where we live in south Ft. Worth! We are totally happy with every part of the experience we had and have already recommeded to family members to go to Carpet Outlets of Texas.
Description of Work: New carpet and pad was installed through out the house with the exception of the wet areas. New grantite counter tops were installed and a new tile backsplash was installed in the kitchen.

We were getting our nursery re-carpeted. We got roughly the same carpet the big box store was selling for about $150.00 less from Carpet Outlet. They were able to use the measurement from Home Depot and did not insist on doing there own measurement, which a few other places did. My wife was treated very well, they worked with us and we got exactly what we wanted for the right price. The installation was done by a father and son. They were incredibly quick and the work was excellent. We will need to do some other rooms in the future and will reuse this company.

After visiting numerous carpet stores and being fed up with the high prices and rude people, I decided to go to the Carpet Outlets of Texas based off of Angies Lists reviews despite the fact that it was no where close to my house or work. They were very attentive and waited on me as soon as I walked in the door. I was wanted decent quality inexpensive carpet since I was selling the house and they had several great recommendations. I was in and out of there in 30 minutes! The installers were very nice, prompt and efficient. They did a great job. I will definitely use them again.

Description of Work: We were looking for carpet for over a month and received 4 quotes on our three large rooms. Of course we did the Home Depot and Empire Route with no luck at all. I joined Angie's List for this particular reason and located my 4th quote option. Well I saved the best quote for last and Carpet Outlets of Texas was the winner! They did a excellent job. They showed up early. They completed two small bathrooms. There were some problems with one of the floors and they came back out to repair it with no hesitation. They did great job.
Description of Work: They installed some tile for me. I chose tile that was expensive, but their labor was not.
Visited store after gettting an estimate from another vendor who was polite and professional but quoted the job with no consideration for the size of the job. (They essentially wanted to charge us the same amount per square foot as they would have if we had one room!). Working with Marty at Carpet Outlets was refreshing. He did not steer us to the most expensive availalbe. Instead, he determinned our needs and spent time explaining pros and cons of various varieties of each product. He allowed us to take several samples of each product home over the weekend while awaiting his measurement visit Monday evening. He arrived as scheduled, took measurements and helped us finalized the products we wanted (again going over the pros and cons of each for our home.) He gave us his estimate the next morning--significantly beating the other company for price/quality. Work began a few days later. Removing existing wood and replacing it with new wood and tile took three days. Noe and his crew were outstanding. They arrived on time each day, kept us informed on progress and next steps, protected furniture as much as could be expected and cleaned up before leaving daily. Couldn't have asked for more. Eli's carpet crew also did a fine job finishing its job in one day.

When we visited the showroom, the sales person made suggestions as to which carpet would fit our requirements. We have dogs so we wanted to be sure that it would hold up over time. The sales person came out to look over and measure the room. A few days later, the carpet was installed efficiently and expertly. It looks great, and we are very pleased. Everyone we met in the company was professional and knowledge.
Description of Work: We purchased carpet for a bedroom. The company measured the room at their first visit, and then on their 2nd visit, pulled up the old carpet, disposed of it, and installed the new.
