I purchased a dining set on 11/10/2015, delivery was scheduled for 11/18/2015. When the furniture arrived the boxes it was packaged in were visibly damaged. This was an indicator No One at Rooms To Go really cared considering damaged boxes were placed on a delivery truck and the contents were not examined. I took pictures and explained to the driver it was not acceptable. The driver contacted his dispatch to request a replacement, the dispatch person did not believe the driver and requested to speak with me. The dispatch person was very rude and wanted to know what did I want them to do. I explained to the rude person I wanted the furniture replaced. The replacement was scheduled to be delivered January 2, on December 30 I contacted Rooms to Go to reschedule the delivery and was told I could not reschedule and I would need to call back. I called back on January 6 and was told the furniture was discontinued and I would need to go in the store to get a replacement. Since then I have contacted Rooms to approximately 5 times Speaking to Amber (supposedly a supervisor) who stated they would deliver the damaged furniture and an hour later received a phone call from Sandra in the warehouse who refused to give me her supervisors name claiming she did not have a supervisor and stating the furniture was not going to be delivered. And my last phone call was with Cheyenne (supposedly a Supervisor) who is completely Rude and Incompetent. Cheyenne was horrible to deal with but does represent the true Culture of Rooms to Go. I still do not have furniture but was promised by the Store Manager (Phillip) they would refund cost of the chair ($24.00) the Total Cost of the 4 Chairs and Table was $750.16 but they are willing to reimburse me $24.00 Really Comical. Phillip was pleasant and understanding but the Rooms to Go upper management / culture restricted his ability to resolve the issue. In Closing I will Never Purchase Anything from Rooms to Go again

They were supposed to call the day before the appointment to give a 4 hour time frame for arrival, and the tech was supposed to call one hour prior to his arrival. Neither of these things took place, he just showed up at my door. He looked over the couch, wrote down some information about the condition of the couch and said someone would be in contact within 3-5 days, not business days, 3-5 DAYS. That was a Friday. Wednesday rolled around and I had heard nothing from them so I called only to be told that the report had not even been filed and that It could take up to 5 business days. I called back thursday , still no report. I called Friday and was told the report had been filed and that the case was still open. The CSR told me that she was going to find out what was going on, and promised me that she would get back to me within the hour. That was at 3:30 my time. I never received a call back. Saturday afternoon we went directly into the store where we purchased the sofa. We waited over 20 minutes for the manager Pam. She had reviewed our claim, and wanted to know what it was exactly that we thought she could do for us!! Not the attitude I was expecting from a member of management. She stated that per the tech's notes, the condition of the sofa was due to "normal wear and tear"!!!! REALLY????? In 4 MONTHS???????? I don't freaking think so!!! They are now sending out a Sr. Tech who is going to give his opinion and yep, it will be 10 days before he can drag his sorry butt out here to look at it!!!
Description of Work: In late February of 2013 we had relocated from Reno Nov. to Houston Tx. Our sofa was old and didn't want to pay the $ to drag it with us so we decided that we would just purchase a new one when we arrived in Texas. We went to Rooms to go and purchased a moderately priced sofa which was delivered two days later. After a couple of months we noticed that the cushion backs were losing their firmness as was the support area under the cushions, and the cushions themselves had begun breaking down. The frame on the right end of the sofa had also broken, and the couch was sitting on the floor. At the end of June, I went into the store and voiced my dissatisfaction to the manager on duty. He said he would file a complaint with customer service and someone would be in contact. 5 days later, I received a call and they set up an appointment to have a technician come out and look at it but it would be another week before that took place!!

Description of Work: Warning make sure you go over your purchases before paying. We bought a whole apartment worth of furniture so a lot of little inexpensive items were added to the list with out us knowing. No trying to return something with a no return policy after its in your house. It was a horrible experience. Rooms-To-Go has a policy of customer satisfaction, so thats how we won on getting them to return a few items. Oh, the sales force reminds me of a used car lot. Now the furniture, it looks great, but the quality is poor. After 7 months all the cushions have broken down and fabric is fading fast...it's only been 7 months! We really did not save any money going here. If we took our time, we could have gotten better quality furniture and cheaper priced at other stores. I suggest looking on Fondren St. Around Richmond Ave. Houston. There are a lot of furniture stores there and they compete for your business, a lot of good deals.

Description of Work: Anthony is a fantastic sales person. He has made daily calls to us to keep us updated on delivery of our purchase. I know there have been several bad reviews, and my furniture hasn't arrived yet, but so far I am very pleased. Our electric recliners are on back order. Anthony has tried to move us up and to make sure that our time is not wasted waiting on a delivery. I would highly recommend using Anthony if you purchase from rooms to go.

I was concerned about buying from such a chain store but ignored my gut and now regret it so much. The 6 piece sectional I bought is too big for my living room, when I asked my salesman before paying if I could return a piece, he reassured me I could. Fast forward to delivery and I realize it's one piece too big, the deliverymen told me to call the store within 48 hours and it would all be ok. I called the same day but was told they don't do returns and that I needed to call back the next day to talk to my sales associate. After talking to him and the manager, I was told to simply list the extra piece on Craigslist since the sales associate and deliverymen were wrong. I filed a complaint with the corporate office and am stuck with an extra piece.

The leather has started losing its color in a drastic way where your head area touches on the top cushions. When I bought the set I asked many questions including details about the leather and recieved all the right answers. Well it turns out they pretty much mislead anyone who buys leather products. They will not work with you whatsoever and have seen others with the same issues.

This isn't about a chair. It's about a company and whether they will stand behind what they sell. Despite proper maintenance this chair looked like it was ten years old before we had it a year. Rooms to Go refused to cover the damage under its warranty because "wear is not covered." The leather is not worn, but the color has gradually disappeared, apparently into my clothing and it is then washed out. My bare skin never touches the chair, except for my hands. (I cannot stand the feeling of leather on my skin.) These photos were taken at about two years. The light spots are everywhere my body touches it, upper back, seat, and arms. The dark streaks are where folds of leather protected the color. The chair actually looks worse than it seems in the photos. When you are buy furniture remember, almost all damage will result from "wear." So, what is your warranty worth?
Description of Work: We purchased a beautiful, dark brown leather living room set (couch, love seat, recliner, hassock) with an end-table and two lamps. The price was a little above normal, but the furniture was so good looking it seemed to be worth it. The salesman spent a LOT of time telling us the set was a good value because of its quality.
