+ -1 moreOverall we are very pleased with the result. Our plants have been revived now that they have water, the controller is easy to use and was programmed keeping in mind water restriction guidelines. All materials were cleaned up and the current landscaping did not suffer from trampling or damaged in any way while the work was being completed. I did ask our landscape company rep to meet with Cole at the end of the job to make sure that all of the spray heads were properly adjusted. Cole left before the rep arrived. The landscaper and I did find a head that was spraying directly into a holly and not adequately covering the area in front of the holly. Cole returned and moved the head and adjusted it accordingly.
Description of Work: The initial visit was for a water leak near the control box. "Cole" dug around the box to determine where the break was. He determined that it was caused by tree roots that had dislodged a connection between the main water line to the house and the sprinkler system control box. Unfortunately, about a week later, we had to call them out again because the repair put pressure on another area which then separated. This was also repaired as part of the original billing of $208. I then contracted with him to look at our existing sprinkler system which was not properly hooked up in the backyard by a different contractor. We discussed what was needed to correct the problems adequately so that all areas were being properly watered and determined that an extra station was needed which necessitated a new controller. Zach, the owner, and Cole converted an existing station from "drip" back to spray, they installed 2 new spray stations and the new Hunter Proc controller. All stations were then tested to ensure that coverage was adequate. We were also instructed on how to use the new controller. The cost of the additional work done to upgrade the system was $2000...money I hated to have to spend since we had spent money last year with another company but the system was never hooked up. I finally gave up trying to get the other company to "make it right" so we are now pleased to see how well the system works correctly thanks to Zach Irrigation.

+ -1 moreThey did a wonderful job. A few weeks later, our lawn guys broke a sprinkler head break. They came right over and fixed it. We needed it fixed quickly as the temperature was over 100 degrees, and we were leaving on vacation the next day.
Description of Work: The first time they worked 8+ hours meticulously fixing our 30 year old sprinkler system. Three of the old-time brass values needed parts replaced. They found the needed parts, and fixed them rather than replacing the whole value. Additionally, they fixed a large broken pipe.

+ -1 moreCall Zach's and talk directly to Zach. Told me that he could fix my issue and handed me to his son to get information. They came out on a rainy day within a couple of hours of the call and accessed the issue. Returned a day later because they needed access to the control panel. Left them access to the garage and the backyard. They fixed all the issues and walk the entire system to make minor adjustments. They locked the backyard gate as to not let out my dogs. Left the bill in the garage and shut the garage door. I called them the next business day (Monday) to pay for the service. They accepted all major credit cards. They were professional and completed the job as required. I would recommend them again.
Description of Work: Replace Hunter head. Replaced rainbird head. Fixed leaking valve. Located valve control boxes.

+ -1 moreZach's son Cole answered the phone and made an appointment for the next day. Zach and Cole arrived exactly on schedule, checked the electrical circuits between the controller and the broken wires, and quickly repaired the broken wires. After the repairs, all sections of the sprinkler system were checked to insure the right section came on with the appropriate designation on the controller. The area that was dug up to access the wires was filled in and smoothed out so there was no indication that the area was disturbed. A very professional job, very reasonable price, and will definitely call them again if any additional work is needed on my sprinkler system.
Description of Work: Repaired broken wires on our underground sprinkler system that were cut during the removal of a tree in the garden area.

+ -1 moreThe day of the appointment they were right on time. Unfortunately it was raining hard and I could only show them where all the equipment and valves were. They said they'd return later that week when it was dryer. I told them to just come on and call if they needed me. I returned home that day after work and the system totally up and running, totally checked out. He did a walk through of the entire system making adjustments and replaced 2 heads. Nice people and they seemed very honest. I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Had several problems with a 6 zoned sprinkler system. One zone would not stop, another would not come on, a leak and override valve would not shut 100%.

They showed up on time, fixed what they needed to, and were nice. However, I was worried that they were not going to return to finish the job. It was a stressful situation for awhile. However, I would use them again in the future.

On Friday 7/18/08 Zach called me and set up an appointment for the following Tues. for irrigation line repair. On Tues., 7/22/08, after calling first, Zach and his son arrived promptly at my house in Arlington. After making a very hot, tedious search tracing the line for an irrigation leak which had been diverted from its source by underground mole tunnels, Zach and son repaired the leak at a sprinkler head some 20 feet away. They then repaired the lawn in front and completed the other services as listed above.
Description of Work: Repaired (2) irrigation line leaks in the front lawn and side flower bed after having to trace the front lawn one down. Readjusted several sprinkler heads in the front lawn. In the back lawn and garden area, made (2) sprinkler head extensions for better coverage. Completely checked out the entire irrigation system.

+ -1 moreZach and his son showed up at the exact scheduled time and detected a fault in the rain sensor which was broken by the roofers. This took all of ten minutes. I'd highly recommend Zach and his son for any irrigation problem.
Description of Work: I recently had my roof replaced wherein the next day the sprinkler system stopped working. I could only determine there was a field wiring problem yet couldn't figure out where.

+ -1 more3-yr-old pipe damage and bad repair job by exterminating company. Just found out it had been leaking ever since. Tree roots had made a compact mess of pipes and wires. 4 hrs digging out roots, mainly with a little garden trowel. I attempted the repair but failed. Called nearest A rated service about noon, Saturday, they could be here about 1pm. Estimate minimum charge of $82. While one repaired the pipe, one repaired damaged wires. Cost $10 more for parts. While waiting for glue to cure, I noticed a head along my drive had been previously broken and washed out. Five minutes later, it was fixed! He taught me about "recharging" the system to avoid more damage, about gluing PVC, protecting wiring, etc. We walked through the system, 1 min per station. At station #8, the repair hole had a major fountain. Two more broken T s I hadn't known about. Another half hour, some really clever rework, and a bunch of PVC parts later and I got the bill. Same as originally quoted! (1000 chars? Whew)
Description of Work: Repaired 1" supply pipe that I had tried to repair. Repaired wires damaged by my digging. Found two more breaks at T's and repaired. (I had the hole all dug out and the pipes washed down.) Instructed me on best method for gluing PVC, protecting wires, recharging system (turning water back on). Went way above and beyond original quote for no added charge.

+ -1 moreThis sounds pretty basic but we called them on a Saturday morning, they were there in 45 minutes. It was freezing cold outside and the place he worked on was full of icy mud. Rather than turn off the water to the system so we could turn the water back on to the house (which we had been without since Friday afternoon) and fix it when the weather was warmer (as we thought he would), Cole fixed it in the bitter cold. He tested our system too and got sopping wet. He was so professional, polite and very personable. We were very impressed. I will be their customer as long as they are in business. Totally excellent experience all around.

Description of Work: I was doing some landscaping in the back yard and broke a PVC irrigation pipe with a shovel. I called Zach Irrigation just before noon to see if they could repair the pipe. + -1 moreI have had so many problems with other companies. I have an old system and we have to nurse it a lot. Finding Zach's was great. They only do repairs, but, they do wonderful. I have had them out to replace a few heads on the system and also straiten them out for me. They seem to be really great and they show up on time every time. I would use them again and recommend them in a heartbeat. Zach also has a cell number and it is 817-807-1283.
