Buzz Custom Fence

Very stressful experience. Although I made the appointment through Angie's List, their staff did not seem to know who I was. They set up the contract without the Angie?s List discount. I had insist on getting that. Also, they said that they will call the Utility locate service but that turned to be a fiasco. Only the gas line was marked. When the workers started digging they broke the conduit of the underground 480V line. ADVICE:READ THE FINE PRINT - "Location of the the lines not marked by the utility marking services will be clearly marked by the customer" and the BUZZ Services is not liable. Fortunately there were no fatalities. It was extremely difficult to get hold of the original person who visited us to measure the fence and give us the estimate had to leave messages on the answering machine and send emails. ADVICE; VERIFY MEASUREMENTS YOURSELF. We found out later that that the measurements were over-estimated. Please note that once you agree to a contract, they will out-source it to a couple of guys whose first language won't be English, and who will be ignorant of electrical safety work practices. ADVICE: You will get a letter assuring you that you won't need to be at home for the installation -ignore this. Take some days off from work and be at home. Supervise the work. MORE ADVICE: Contact the Utility Marking Service yourself and make sure that work gets done properly before the fence installation commences. Fortunately the fence turned to be beautiful and strong. But then again at around 23 dollars per foot for a cedar fence, we were paying for a high quality product.

Well, I would say pretty good. Now I could not give them an over all of A, but I could give them a B. It was quite some time when i contacted them initially until they contacted me back, but that was mostly due to the rain. The salesperson would not get back with me when I called her. I finally had to talk to a supervisor to get my questions answered. That's not OK. The second item was the actual installation of the fence, there were a couple of the posts that the installer left open at the top, so rain can get in there. My brother in law fix that. But the guy that installed it should have done that at the time of installation. Basically overall, aside from those two things, they did a good job.

The primary contact I had with Buzz Custom Fence was Michael B. He came to my house, and observed the work that we requested an estimate on. This happened on March 22, 2015. As we were not completely certain what work we wanted performed, we had the Company prepare estimates for a few options. On March 24, 2015 I was sent the first quote for the work, the only issue is that it wasn't for our job/house. I was provided another customer's quote. I contacted Michael and he provided me with the correct quote. I then asked several questions on the small pool equipment fence that they quoted, including the cost to add a top cap and trim. Michael failed to answer most of the questions, but informed me that the top cap and trim for 14' of fencing would be $980 additional, on a fence that he originally quoted at $450 total. I sent an email to Michael inquiring if there was a misunderstanding or mistake, and he responded "Yes, that is Just for that 14 feet.." He then followed up with another email noting that he was incorrect and the cost was only $66.50. While they did catch the error, after I pointed it out and had to inquire twice, I believe it shows the general attention to detail. After this, we decided to have the pool fence built and the arbor restained, and I attempted multiple times to contact Buzz Custom Fence to get the work scheduled. I was unable to reach Michael via email or direct line, and finally called the front desk. On April 2, 2015 Michael called me back to discuss the matter and we attempted to finalize the plan for the small fence. He was supposed to get back with me regarding the changes I requested and provide an updated pricing quote. During this conversation he also informed me that the quoted price to restain the arbor of $650 was going up to $750 due to its proximity to the pool...please note, the arbor was not moved from where it was located when he came out to prepare the original quote. Upon my questioning this upcharge, Michael did indicate that they would perform the work at the original quoted price. During this conversation, Michael informed me that due to rain and the upcoming Easter holiday, it might be the next week before he could get back to me. As of the time of this writing (May 6, 2015) I am still waiting for that follow up. Clearly, Buzz Custom Fence pays little attention to detail and as such I have no interest in them performing any work for me now or in the future. The lack of professionalism was apparent and we will not be using them in the future for any additional work. After reading this review, the Buzz Fence management indicated that someone would be contacting me. To date, that hasn't happened. Further evidence that they have little interest in performing the work and continue to fail to pay attention to detail.

I recently moved into a new home that came with an automatic driveway gate. I had no idea how it worked except that I knew it wasn't opening. I called, they were able to get me an appointment for that week and arrived promptly at our appointment time. They quickly saw the problem of why the gate was not opening properly and explained to me how everything should be working so I had a better understanding of the unit. They fixed the driveway gate and then were nice enough to do also make it so my pedestrian gate also worked more smoothly. Will definitely call again for any fencing needs!

I reached out to Buzz Fence through Angie's List. Someone sent a response the next day requesting more information and contact details. The following day I spoke with Mary Ann Franklin who scheduled a time to come out for an estimate on the next day. Mary arrived a little after the scheduled time, we meet, discussed our plans for the new fence, she took measurements, and said she would follow up with an estimate. I never heard back, thus my grade of a "D" here.

I worked with Joe. He came and quoted me a price on an 8 ft fence across the back about 80 ft. The two workers came and they did a great job....The other fence was not taken down, so there was a gap at the end where my dogs could get caught in. He sent over another gentlemen and enclosed that off. The reason for the gap is because of the telephone wiring there. They were able to enclose it and kept the wire box free. They also put a new latch on my front gate. They cleaned up everything before they left. Great job.......

Looking forward to getting our fence installed. Very honest and caring bid. We run a non profit rescue for senior and special need dogs and and a portion of the fence cost was donated. Thank you and looking forward to doing business with Buzz fence. The confusion of the first bidding process has been resolved and no longer an issue. Thank you.

Good. Installed a new circuit board. They did recommend I replace the motor, but I found the part in question online and replaced it myself.

By the following Friday, we had not heard anything at all from the representative they sent out. I e-mailed and called the corporate office and was told that they would give my name and number to the representative who came out. Never heard a word. No e-mail, no call, nothing. I am extremely disappointed as they had an A rating.

I purchased materials for another team to replace an old fence for my daughter. After some issue's I doubted the ability of these individuals to do a proper job. I called Buzz fencing and from the salesman Michael, down to the 2 man team that did the installation, I couldn't have been more pleased with the process, schedule and completion of the new fencing. I will definitely use Buzz Custom Fencing in the future.

The work was done 1 day. Everything was done very professional

Crew arrived on time, quickly torn down and removed old fence, set metal posts and installed the new fence. Total job took two days, the crew worked quickly and cleaned up when finished. We now have a beautiful high quality fence! We would definitely use Buzz Fence again.

Salesman came out right away and gave a quote. The price was midrange with the other quotes we got for what we were asking for. Once we decided to use Buzz, we were told that it would be approx. 2 weeks. The time frame was exact, however, I did have to call the office several time to establish the exact date the project would start. The 2 men working were very pleasant and did the job well. Very satisfied overall with the experience and company.

We needed a new fence for our duplex. We asked for an unusual type of fence but Buzz satisfied our needs completely. Super company to do business with

It turned out great. They scheduled it for 2 days, but they were able to do it all in 1 day. They cleaned up as they went along.

It's really pretty. They were able to start earlier than they had thought and completed it within 2 days. We love the fence. They offered a lot of helpful suggestions and even gave us a 3rd gate at a discounted rate. They were very professional. They were very attentive to what we needed.

The work was done well and in the timeline they said it'd be done -- it took 1 day to do. I am very satisfied & I've recommended them to some of my neighbors.

They did a very good job; I've actually used them in the past. They sent out a full crew the same day I called and did the gate in a couple of hours. They were very efficient and cleaned up their mess. I'm very happy with the finished product. Their prices are reasonable.

They did the job when I wasn't at home and did a great job. Scheduling was fantastic. They sent me an email on or about when they'd show up and gave me a range of two weeks -- which they kept.

They are doing a really good job. They are very professional. It has been a very positive experience so far. They have been very responsive when I have questions or concerns. The man who is doing the actual work is very careful and meticulous, his name is Ruben. The woman representative that did the bid has followed up with me on four concerns that need to be addressed, nothing major, I had a question about something and she came very quickly and took care of it. Her name is Nikki and she is great. She is very professional and very pleasant and easy to work with, most of all responsive, which is my biggest thing. They stay; they answer phone calls, and stay on top of things. The quality of the work is just really excellent. I am very pleased with it. It is not quite finished yet but I am anticipating that the remaining work will be handled in equally good fashion.

Provided service just a requested using the thicker metal poles and method of pouring concrete (mixing and then pouring; some other providers indicated they would put the dry mix and then add water which we did not want). Used 2x4 size rails as we requested. Unfortunately, these were pressure treated and warped over time. Had we know better, we would have asked for the thinner on "normal" cedar rails as those would warp like the pressure treated ones did.

Working with Buzz was not the best experience. I was not given the option to look at various fence styles when the sales guy came out; was told to go to the office to see those. Luckily I had the extra time and did that one day after work. Also, we had to add additional fencing which hadn't been included in the original quote, and that fencing was installed with a 5 inch gap between the bottom of the fence and the ground. Neighbors added some siding underneath to keep their little dog from escaping into our yard. When I told Buzz about this and asked to get the additional fee for this fencing waived or reduced, they refused. They said they would be happy to come out and add a kickboard, for a price. Overall, Buzz just seems like a company that churns out fence after fence and doesn't pay attention to detail or customer satisfaction. Would not use again.

The job went exactly as they said it would. The fence is beautiful to look at and the smell of the cedar is amazing! We did have some pickets that split and they replaced them promptly. Buzz was very good to work with and the yard was clean when they were done. You really do get what you pay for, quality materials and workmanship equals a great finished product. over the years I have learned that cheaper is NOT better! I have a saying " it costs a little more to fly first class" and in my book Buzz is first class.
