I had an appointment for 2 weeks with another company. They ended up calling me the night before the scheduled appointment to tell me that I was too far for them to come out. After getting stood up by them, and subsequently contacting another service that stood me up as well, I decided to give these guys a call. I had already been without hot water and a barely working ac unit for a month. I spoke with Nate, a tech that works for Slade. He promptly called Joe Slade and told him of my issue. Joe called me back within 30 mins., and despite having other plans that day, he made the hour drive and came to see me. He explained that helping people is what he loves about his job. Within an hour, he had my hot water fixed! I cannot tell you how grateful I am that he came out. Since there have been numerous tornadoes and hail storms in the area, I was not expecting such a quick turn-around on this service call. He understood my desperation for hot water, and made the time to come out. I would highly recommend his services. Slade's is the only real mobile service in the area, so I know that he gets back logged, but I wouldn't trust my 5th wheel with anyone else.

If you could give A's for being nice, this guy gets and A. However, for Mobile RV service.....BEWARE. We have new travel trailer, under warranty. Our thermostat has never worked right and a local dealer said it would be weeks before they could get us in. They then recommended Slade's Mobile RV service. I called and got an older lady (very nice) named Ginger. She assured me Joe would be out the following day. I saw him in the park (noticed his work trailer which said Joe's Mobile RV Service) working on another trailer. Figured he's stop by when he was complete with his other service calls. Never saw him that day. A week went by and I called his number back. This time, Ginger was gone and Joe's wife, also very nice (and assertive) said Joe would call me that evening,. He did. I took a picture of the thermostat, texted it to him and the next week he came by but it was the wrong one. He called back ANOTHER WEEK later and apologized, said he was and quot;swampedand quot; and that his wife was now handling all his scheduling. He said he had ordered the right thermostat and when it came in, he's be out to install it. I told him OK and that the old thermostat was at least holding its own at the moment. Fast forward TWO MORE WEEKS and no Joe. Called him on Tuesday, got another apology and he said he'd be over and quot;in the morningand quot; to install it. Wednesday now at 5:19, no Joe and no answer when you call. Guy is obviously way in over his head. I'm going to attempt a little DIY now, why not. At least I can depend on myself to get the job done.
Description of Work: Nothing, promised to show up on three separate occasions, never showed. Actually, he did come by once and "adjusted" the thermostat. Came back again with the wring one. Ordered the "right" one then despite saying three times that "he'd be back the next day", he never showed.

Under the circumstances I needed you to be there to show me the problem that was occurring with your thermostat, but after discussing the thermostat issues over the phone I was able to go over and adjust the thermostat to work, and from what you said in our check up call you said it was working just fine. I recommended to go ahead and replace the thermostat with no charge to you, just in case the thermostat started acting up again. Due to our high volume of customer service and the changing of our employee's I was unable to help you and for that we are truly sorry for not fulfilling your RV need's at that time. As you mentioned in your statement" I was way over my head" in which it was due to the changing of employee's and our high demand of service at that present time. I can assure you if you allow Slade's Mobile RV to assist you in your RV needs in the future, you will not be disappointed!!! Thank you, Joe Slade

Another company was contacted first, but they were booked, so we called Slade's. They only had one review here, so we were concerned about the cost. The service man called on his way out. By that time, our power problems seemed to be corrected. He asked if we still wanted him to come out. My mother wanted to be sure there was not an electrical issue, so she had him come out. He made it out to the RV park on time and talked with us about the electrical issues. He was personable and professional as he checked out the entire electrical system on the RV. The problem was in the land line that the RV was hooked up to. After checking everything, our service man would not charge for the hour he spent looking for problems.
Description of Work: My mother's RV was having power problems. Slade's was contacted to come out to diagnose the problem. The serviceman spent an hour looking over the electrical system. At the end of the visit, he refused to charge for his hour of time (the company said there would be a trip charge and minimum 1 hour service charge).

I just moved to the country and now livingn in my RV full time in the city because I'm still working in town. The first week my heater and water heater did not work. This was due to the furnace board andn mud dobbers. This company had to make several trips and charged me $120.00 for each trip. They replaced the furnace board, reset the fuse and replaced a heating element and installed mud dobber screens. All for a total of $800.00. Bob did they see me coming. I think this company takes advantage of individuals who have their RV parked and can't move it. I could have replaced the furnace and hot water heater for $800.00. And on top of that the belt on the furnace squeaks. I believe they might have tightened that to get another sevice call. I would definitely not use this company without getting a bid from them up front and make sure you are looking over their shoulder. I made the mistake of not being there when they did the work.
Description of Work: Furnace and water heater would not work. Called Spades to come out to see what was wrong. They made several trips replacing the furnace board, resetting fuse and heating element and cleaning out muddobbers and installing mud dobber screens.

(removed member name), I am truly sorry that you feel our technician's did not treat you fairly, but after reviewing the work order of the work completed by my tech's your parts alone, came to around $330, and then due to the infestation of mud dobbers in the furnace which needed to be removed and disassembled while also replacing the control board, which took over 2 hours. The water heater also needed to be disassembled and cleaned of mud dobbers, and then installation of the mud dobber screens for future protection of your appliances, which also took around an hour. We sent out two technicians to your unit to complete the job which took over three hours to complete those tasks. We did not quote you for the installation for the screens so if you look at your work order we deducted the labor off your final bill, which came too $700, which I feel as a seasoned RV technician and owner of a successful RV business was a very reasonable price, and we did not charge you for any service call fee's due to you being in our local area. We do appreciate your business, and value your opinion. Also I would like to let you know that furnaces do not have belts, they have bushings. When you have a problem with mud dobbers that tends to wear out the motor bushings, if you would like us too, I would appreciate your business? Thank you, Joe Slade
