Master Services

I think they charged too much for the work performed. Whey they got there to do the sweep/inspection, they said they'd have to send someone back to do the dryer vent. Since we told them we wanted the dryer vent done when we made the appointment, this is not good practice. We wish we'd have been told that upfront so that we could have made schedule changes with more notice. Gave us estimates for chimney cap, chimney brick work and waterproofing which we said we'd consider. They said that this was part of the inspection provided and needed to be done soon. I'm going to get a second opinion based on their upsell and high charge for services provided.

It was very satisfactory. They came on time. They were very clean and careful.

Jon installed fireglass and the accompanying burner in our fireplace. He was timely and professional, and he always called to say he would be arrived shortly. The fireplace looks gorgeous and we are thrilled! Jon also swept our chimney to remove any cobwebs for us. He patiently answered all my questions.

Wife set up appointment. M.S.'s Salesman/inspector Kelly came out the next day. He gave us a estimate with a sort of "a la cart" approach and presented the benefits of each but did not pressure us into buying anything we felt was un-necessary. We mulled over our options for a couple of days. I even called the owner Christa, concerned over the height of the cap. I might have confused her but she discombobulated me with a wealth of knowledge that I called Kelly. He replied that Christa may be one of the most knowledgeable members at the company and assuaged my fears. My wife and I decided on what we wanted, and put the order in. A day later the installer(Omar) came out on time and was careful and respectful of the landscaping around the house where he had to maneuver his ladders. The Cap looks awesome in two ways: it conforms to the Chimney attractively and secondly it's actually unobtrusive and doesn't stand out! Omar also demonstrated the sealer and you can visibly tell it works. All in all I would use Master Services again. They did such good work though I may not have to see them again for another 20 more 30 years!

Josh arrived on time to fix a leaking toilet in my home. He explained what the cause was as well as checked out the same part on my other two toilets and sure enough, the same part was broken down. He repaired all three and the cost was great for the service! He was on time, clean and nice.

Tech came out to give an estimate on chimney cap and waterproofing . Very thorough and professional. After reviewing bid, called other vendor and verified product for water proofing was the same and that cap was fabricated in the same manner. Ended up saving around $200. Will let Masters Services bid for chimney work again in the future.

It turned out perfectly. They were very helpful and made some suggestions for the future. The tech was very thorough and explained everything.

Took my $100 for a 10 minute inspection. I felt that they did not explain the situation or process during the phone call. He came out did his 10 minute inspection, then told my wife and I, could not clean our chimney until the wall is repaired.

Josh came out to take care of a line block. He was very punctual, professional and just what you would hope as an owner would represent your business. Highly recommended!!!

Great! "Scolded" me for cleaning all ashes out of chimney before his arrival because that was HIS job:) Great job. One recommendation with estimate. Have not pursued yet, but will.

They were good. He took time to explain to me what he was doing. He was very thorough. He made sure that he finished and put it all back the same way it was. We decided to use them because they were on Angie's List.

I first contacted Master Services about a chimney cap back in June 2014. We arranged a date for the estimate. My phone conversation was very pleasant with some information about how the process from start to finish would work. The estimator came out on our agreed upon time and date. He explained how it worked show me examples of the different styles and types of caps that they custom manufacture and install. I would have loved to see an example or two of them but, that being said it would be next to impossible to bring the right type, color or style. My wife and I waited a very long time to decide to do this. I contacted Master Services this month Sept 2014 to accept the estimate and. Not once did they balk at giving us the estimate price despite the length of time between estimate and install. They did have some minor problem finding the estimate due to computer system change over, but that was fixed and we were on track. The morning of the install I was out of the house in town when Omar called and asked if he could come install my cap. I was very concerned about that due to the drizzle and being up on an extension ladder 25' in the air. I told him if he felt safe enough go ahead but if not don't do it and just call me and we'd reschedule. Omar did come out and installed the cap 9/12/2014 in the cold drizzly rain. I got back home as he was finishing installing the cap on the top of the chimney. I was a very heavy drizzle. However, he had installed it and was soaked. At all times Omar was very professional, friendly and provided me an answer to all my questions. Our new cap looks great and I have already set the date to get the seal done. This reschedule is in no way Master Service fault but, the weather and this was explained to me at the original estimate. If I am need of any of Master Service's assistance with other projects that they provide I will not hesitate to give them a call or recommend they to others. My wife and I are extremely satisfied with their work, prices and professionalism.

Fabulous from start to finish. They were incredibly responsive from the very beginning, and were able to come out within a day to give an estimate, and able to do the job just a few days after that. The gentleman who provided our estimate and completed the work was very much a professional--he very clearly "owned" his work and took pride in doing a good job...he definitely was not just someone punching the clock and out on a service call. I was a little nervous going with a bigger company that wasn't local, but this guy did the work like he owned the company. He did a really thorough job of diagnosing the problems with our chimney, educating me about it, and never even remotely tried to sell me anything we didn't need. Quote was actually the lowest we received, they were delightful to interact with, and service was top notch. I would give them a grade higher than an A if I could.

I had an emergency family matter after I paid in advance for their service . I called them in advance to let them know that I would need to postpone at the time. They kept my money and I never have used their service.

The technician was very knowledgable and pointed out things i would've never noticed. He entered all attic access points (4) and took pictures of rat feces as evidence of invasion. Had the quote back to us the same day and we will be hiring this company. The quote covers all removal, closing any and all entry point including weep holes and replacing flashing. It also includes 6 follow up visits and a 2 year gaurantee.

It turned out very well. We've used them several times. In their professionalism and service, they cleaned up after themselves and they point out things that they recommend to you. They were the first company we used and so we were up happy with them and we never shopped around. They are early and on time every time.

They didn't really turn out to be very good, because I think the guy wasn't very conversant with the fireplace. The problem was with the adapter and they wanted me to order a part, while it was still working on the machine, and all I had to do, was put some batteries in the adapter. I don't think he understood what the problem was. They charged me $90 for the service, and then they sent me a quote for the parts to be replaced.

Josh came to my home and took a look at the upstairs toilet which had been clogged for over a week. He was able to quickly handle it when he found that the "flushable" wipes had not in fact flushed and were clogging my toilet. Once these were removed my toilet was working perfectly! Tip: The flushable wipes are not really flushable.

They came out to see the fireplace and the team that initially arrived said they could not diagnose the problem and that they would send a specialist out to look. That did occur and he did diagnose an issue with the electric starter. He collected the fee and left. I never heard back from them again.
