Description of Work: Prior to the actual service call things seemed to be aligned and the interactions were pleasant. Here is a list of things that went wrong - |1. Agreed time of arrival was before 2:00 PM, they did not show up until after 5:00 PM |2. The first words out of the main mover's mouth was 'We're not going to move all of you today, we are only going to move part of you and come back in the morning to do the rest." When I stated that wasn't going to work, he said "Well my guys just got through moving a 3000 sq.ft. home, so they are tired" Without looking at the rooms, etc, he stated that it all couldn't be moved on that day. |3. I proceeded to call Tonya at Wrightway and try to get the mess cleared up, while we were on the call she received a call from her operations guy and she let me go. In the interim the movers had called operations and that is what led to our conversation being cut short. She said she'd call me back, instead she dealt with the movers and I could hear her conversation with them. She stated to them that I had called their operations person and complained, I didn't know the operations person. |4. During the conversation with the point person for the movers, he wanted me to sign a contract that would allow them to take double the time to move my things over to the new house, I objected and that led to more confusion across the board. |5. While Tonya was having her conversation with the movers they handed me the phone and she accused me of calling the Operations person, I told her I had not called him, didn't know him and wanted to just get the situation cleared up. The point person for the movers wanted to start charging me for the time from the minute they walked in the door instead of the time they were working which would start after I signed the paperwork. I tried to tell Tonya more than once that her person wanted to charge me the time they walked in, she kept interrupting me and telling me that wasn't how it worked and at one point yelled at me for not understanding. I finally had to tell her to inform the mover of that process since he was the one telling me something different. We agreed for them to only do the 3 hours of work that I had paid for and then they could leave. When I gave the phone back to the mover, I heard Tonya say something to the effect of 'She called John to complain, we can't have that'; once again I don't know John never spoke to him, etc. She also told him to start the time at 5:30 and when the call ended, the mover informed the point person to start the time at 5:30, the point person looked at me and said, "I'm starting the time at 5:15." At that point I stated that wasn't what Tonya had indicated and I wasn't signing anything, then his mover who had been on the phone with him told him again, "Tonya said to start the time at 5:30" He was annoyed and started to exchange words with me, which I told him to stop, I had handled things with Tonya and needed for them to start working and if he had an issue with his company's direction to go and address it with them. | |Needless to say, they did not move everything, they took their time on getting things moved, etc. There was no sense of urgency from them. The movers either ignored the labels on the boxes or couldn't read them, in fact one of them I tried to speak to in English and I am almost certain he only understood Spanish. | |I ended up having to finish the job on my own the next day to the tune of an additional rental truck (since I don't own a truck) and having to call and hire a few people. The move was a disaster and I'm still trying to recover from it. Cabinets were turned upside down, thrown around, etc. | |I would not recommend them at all, try anyone else but them. There is no recovery for such bad service and professionalism all the way around. |

+ -1 moreAfter purchasing the voucher through Angie's List I received a call from a very nice woman to confirm and schedule my move. I was pleasantly surprised they agreed to move me on a Sunday. Then it started, 1st is was the charge for drive time that ate up 1-hour of my moving voucher. Then I was informed that I would have to pay an additional fuel surcharge. Neither of which were listed anywhere in the fine print on Angie's List. They were late. I will say they at least called, but I got the impression they didn't look up the address to see how long it would take them to get to my location until the morning of the move. Once the drivers got there they appeared rushed and didn't speak but a tiny bit of English. I pointed out what needed to be moved and they started shrink wrapping. I was grateful for that until the end. When we got to the storage unit and they were through unloading the leader hit me with a bill for additional time and shrink wrap. He was stand offish with the bill so I didn't get to see what the charges were for. I was in a hurry and went to give him the credit card I was putting the entire move on when he said, "no, cash only this much and you tip my helper"! About an hour later I had a chance to look at the invoice and see the charges. Ridiculous! I called and complained and the office committed to a $60 refund. I've not received a check yet. To top it off, they put the boxes with stuff I needed access to in the very back corner of the storage unit under every non-movableobject possible. I will never use or recommend this company again.

+ -1 morethe deal was for 3 men for 3 hours and a big truck. The 3 guys were nice but they took a long time loading the truck I wondered why thinking they were just being extra careful with my furniture. I realized the problem was that they were removing parts of the furniture parts off so when we got to the new house and the furniture was unloaded pieces removed from antique furniture were not re-attached. two weeks later the parts are still loose on top of other pieces of furniture I have yet to sort through. The move took over 3 hours but I was not charged extra .

+ -1 moreFirst, Tonya was very nice and very professional over the phone, first when I scheduled, and when I called back to add some additional requests to my service order. She listened to what I needed and correctly estimated the size truck and crew required. She also called to confirm a couple of days before the move. When the movers arrived they didn't seem to quite have all of the information, but had no problem fulfilling every detail of the move. They were pleasant and professional as well and handled all of the items, including a glass shelved curio cabinet, with extreme care. Nothing was damaged in the move and that's always a nice result.
Description of Work: They moved several items from a home in one Dallas suburb to a home in another.

+ -1 moreThey got there on time, but they moved as slow as they could knowing they would be there only three hours. There are many things that they did not take, and I had to hire a second moving company to finish this job! I have a regular sized half duplex, and I do not own that much. When she called to confirm the appointment, I told them I was moving from one floor & need some of my belongings upstairs and some of them downstairs. They left at least 20% of my things including a patio table with 4 chairs, a full rug, 4 office chairs, daybed, 2 artificial plants, 2 side end tables, a TV, 10 paintings, and my scooter. They took the bookshelf unit, but left the shelves. They took my end table, but left the shelf for the table. They took the sofa, and left the cushions and the pillows. They damaged some of my belongings. 1 of my antique paintings is scratched and one of my dining table's rollers are missing. Every time I call the company, I only get the answering machine. When she did call me back (the night before the move), it was to tell me that there was going to be an extra $150 charge, and I felt like I was being scammed. They ended up charging me $50 extra for gas money in the end. My neighbor was witness to all of this, as well.

+ -1 moreThe move went great. The moving team was very professional and got right to work and moved everything efficiently and quickly. They took some furniture apart that they didn't think would be safe moving in one piece and then put it back together at our new home. They shrink wrapped a lot of things to keep them safe for the move and wrapped them in moving pads for us. At our new house we just told them where we wanted everything and they got right to work. Overall a great experience and I would recommend them.

I asked them to connect everything they could, especially the exhaust (I couldn't find the electrical cord) but it didn't get done. Otherwise, they were the best movers I've ever worked with.

+ -1 moreI ended up not having as much to move as I thought I would. I got rid of a lot of my furniture. Also, I had a few weeks after the move date to get the old house cleaned out, and was moving only about a mile, so I ended up not having a lot of boxes for the movers. I moved a lot of the boxes myself as I cleaned out each room, and got rid of a lot of stuff. So the move took less than two hours. The movers arrived on time, and got everything done quickly. They did charge me extra for wrapping furniture in "saran wrap" type material. Also, since the move was smaller than I anticipated and ended up taking much less time, some value from purchasing the "Big Deal" was lost. I probably could have gotten the move done less expensively. But overall, I was very satisfied with the service. The office was very responsive and friendly when scheduling the move, and had good follow-up. The movers completed the job quickly, and the move itself ended up being pretty stress free. I would use this company again.

+ -1 moreThey sent 1 packer for a 3000 SQFT house. It ending up costing over $700 packing. The packers also was so inefficient that it took way more space than was necessary. I found a box packed full of EMPTY shoe boxes. The movers themselves were fine, but they missed the whole attic and I had to go find that and remind them to load it. Overall, I just didn't feel like this was a good experience and it was SUPER expensive.

+ -1 moreThe three me that showed up got right to work. They were careful of doors, jams and walls. Took care in loading and unloading truck. I had signed up and paid online at Angies's List. After unloading truck at storage facility I was informed there was a $50 cash fee as a fuel surcharge. No checks or credit cards. This fee was never mentioned in any listings or agreements. As it was late at night I was lucky to have enough cash to make payment. I felt I was shaken down for the $50. It was too late at night to call anyone at the company.

In the days/weeks leading up to the move, i had to reschedule my move date 5-6 times as there was a number of issues with the closing of my home. Wrightway (Tanya) was very understanding and accommodating. Never once did i get a sense of irritation or frustration from her. Once the move day finally came, the movers worked efficently through the house making sure to wrap all my furniture in both moving pads as well as with plastic wrap. They moved directly from one location to another without delay. The entire process went as well as I could have hoped for. If/when i move again, i will certainly reach back out to Wrightway.
Description of Work: Wrightway came to my ~2400sqft 2-story home and moved all the boxes and furniture. Additionally, they stopped by my 5x10 storage unit and grabbed all the stuff their too. They took all the furniture and unloaded it into my new home. The overall process required two trips.
