Description of Work: The moving company showed up 2 hours late (2 hours past the latest time in their window). We had to call them to find out what was going on. It would have been nice if they would have notified us. When I called the office, they were unapologetic about it, and just said "This happens." It really slowed down the process and the move, since we had to move in the dark because they were so late. We ended paying several hours over the hours we had paid for in the promotional price of the move. I could see maybe one hour over, but not 2.5. or 3 hours over (I forgot exactly). We only moved a bed, a drawer, a couch, a table (which I didn't have them reassemble because it was 9:30 and getting late), a washer, a dryer, and about 20 boxes of stuff. They also moved about 15 plants in pots, and I helped them move some of them from the backyard since it was getting late. We only moved 5 miles down the road, I think a crew of three guys could have finished it in 3 hours during the day time, not 4.5 or 5 hours. The movers were decent guys. They worked pretty hard, and it wasn't their fault that they had an extra long move right before us (they just moved the stuff, not scheduled the appointments or dealt with the business aspect of it). Moving in the dark really slowed us all down, and I think the fact that they had been working since early in the morning, and then having to work a second move, which began two hours late, did not help. | |Overall, one should expect to pay several hours over the price at the regular rate plus the cost for the protective packing tape (I don't remember being quoted this, but maybe I was...). I believe there was also a gas price as well once you go over the promotional hours. They gave you a survey to fill out that day, but they make you fill it out on the spot, and the guys are watching you while you fill it out. Obviously, the customer is going to give a good score to avoid confrontation. Also, you feel sorry for the actual movers who start work early on a Saturday and finish at 9:30 PM at night on a Saturday. Hopefully they got overtime. I would give the movers a B+ to A- if I could, and the actual company a C-, D+.
