Pulled up the carpet in my living room and replaced it with hardwoods. The hardwoods had to be matched to our existing hardwood floors throughout the rest of the house. We did have to call him back to our house as some of the boards you could tell were not original. Tom came out the next morning and checked the work and his installers came right out and fixed everything. No one can tell they are not the original floors. We also had Tom do new carpet in our master bedroom. His crew came on the day we asked and did a great job installing. His installers on both jobs were very respectful of our home and cleaned up after they were done.

Tom quoted us $1509.00, great deal, he was recommended by a friend and we were excited to get the friends and family discount. Tom continues to assure us that he will be personally overseeing the work. The day comes for the hardwood floors to be done, and Tom is MIA. He sent us a two person crew that didn't speak much english. We still moved forward and picked the color we wanted and then we waited. We came home to our floors redone, the WRONG color. So we say, please redo, Tom acknowledges the mistake and sends the same crew out to fix the issue. The crew arrives and shows no professionalism whatsoever. They came in upset about having to redo the work. We originally picked ebony and they laid down antique brown. So we explained to the crew why they were back here. Apparently that was something we needed to do and not thier employer - Tom. So they went about thier business still with a hit of frustration but got it done leaving little stains on our baseboards and around our fire place. Well, they forgot to put down the polyurathane/varnish finish. So withing the first week, our floors were scratched beyond recognition. We called Tom again, he quickly sent the crew out to sand the scratches, touch up the coloring and lay the final coat down. One would assume, 3rd time is the charm. We came home and found 1 scratch not attended to. So we asked Tom AGAIN to fix. We went almost and entire month without hearing back. Then we got a text that said, use 'old english'. So we did, but it didn't look right. We approached Tom about this, he sent his team out one more time today, 7/26/12, resand and blend the area. For the most part, they did a good job but the blend was still an eye sore. So I personally reached out to Tom asking him to come and see first hand what my struggles were. He has since told me - it is your problem, nothing we can do. I've asked several more times for him to at least come see it and quote me something to reconcile this issue and he has been silent. For someone with 30 years in the business, I would have expected more especially when a customer is asking for you to personallly visit and advise what to do after they have taken action according to what they were told. I do not recommend this company for any hardwood work. You will get what you paid for. Cheap work, lack of professionalism, and not courtesy to address things personally.
