This company refused to contact me about the over-charge as of this date. I have only received an "unapplied" credit and still have not received contact from the company.
Description of Work: I requested that current security system be converted from land-line to wireless. This company assured me that it could be accomplished with my existing system - all that was needed was new 2-gig base unit. As it turned out, the smoke detectors would not convert and required new ones.

Description of Work: DO NOT use ASG security. ASG bought out my original security company. I moved to a new house and signed a 3 yr contract. Hidden in the contract ( small print in middle of a random paragragh ) is a an automatic 2 yr renewal clause - not uncommon. However, the sales person had circled and highlighted many other items in the contract to divert attention away from that one clause. I was also presented with a certificate ( large print ) showing only a 3 yr committment with no mention of renewal. I am paying cancellation fee to get out of automatic renewal b/c I do not wish to do business w/ dishonest and misleading salespeople.

My alarm company last year or so sold out to ASG. I have had alarm monitoring for the past 7 years, so I was not under contract. I got a letter of the transfer, but no further notice. I was on automatic bill-pay (NOT a good idea for ANYTHING). Since I had an alarm in which they took forever to contact me and when my alarm battery went dead I called (their number was HARD to find for service) to see if a technician could come out and replace it. They told me to replace it myself if I wanted it done quicker than a week. I decided to shop for better and cheaper service. I found that I was paying too much (at $35/mo) and called another service that I found on Angie's List. The other folks called me back right away and scheduled with me for service the next week. The new company switched me. I called ASG and told them I no longer required their services. They told me to write them a letter. I wrote a letter to their Irving branch and the corporate. They billed me for that money (with the automatic bill-pay). I advised them I should no longer have any deductions for service I was not getting from them. They continued to charge me. They called me once or twice a day and left messages that they now had to "talk" to me. I contacted the BBB and after three months I finally got them to stop charging me. What a horrible experience! I am glad I switched and it cut my bill in more than half ($14/mo) and the new service is great!

Description of Work: I have been with ASG since we built our house in 1995. Past efforts revealed that there were issues with the alarm system needing repair. Phone company came out checked the line, ok. ASG came out checked system, and could not re-produce problem. I go to renew and request service call to verify proper systems operation. They come out, verify, and claim all is ok. I go to use the system, and multiple false alarms along with system trouble reports. I'm done with this company.

I have been with this company for about four years now. The overall experience has been good. I have had the alarm go off a couple times and they are always responsive and call to check and see if I need anything.

This was a great experience; the technician spent almost an hour checking out our entire security alarm system to be sure that the damaged control pad was the only thing damaged. He did not have a replacement pad with him, so they had to come out the following week again to replace the pad. Even though we do not pay for monitoring with this company, the only charge they rendered for both visits was the cost of replacing the pad! I was absolutely flabbergasted that there was no trip charge, no time charge, and there was no rush; he checked everything very thoroughly. We wound up with this company because they had bought out the company that installed the system 10 years ago, but I could not have found a better company than this if I had looked around!
Description of Work: We had a near-lightning strike, which fried one of our security system control pads and caused the house alarm to malfunction. They checked out the entire system and replaced the damage keypad.

Great company, fast follow up if alarm has gone off, great customer service whenever I've had questions. We have been with Spectrum Alarm Systems for about 10 years and apparently they have merged or are now part of ASG Security. Several people in our immediate people use them as well. I feel really comfortable having the peace of mind that their system and people are monitoring our house.
