I don’t know how a company like this stays in business. Bought a new house and builder used these guys to install the septic tank and system. I got a 2 year prepaid maintenance package. They are supposed to come every 4 months to check and write a report. These guys wouldn’t show up. Had to call them after 7 months each time to get them to come out and check the system. They claimed they got backed up. No report was ever given to me and I asked to have someone walk me through the system and they couldn’t handle that. These guys are the worst.

Our home was built in 1974. Our ground was getting a bit 'squishy' in the area around one of our tanks, and the smell, Some septic places were like, "Gotta go aerobic" Um, new homes, yes, older homes with the existing system, no. Plus, aerobic do cost more to install. Nothing like flushing money down the toilet . AAA determined our tanks were still good and added the pump tank to help keep things moving. They did not push the aerobic system, just gave it as an option. 5 year warranty - I did have them come out to check on the circuit on the breaker box a couple of times, recent being Feb 2017 - for which I gladly paid the service fee. All good! For the record, I hate having a septic system, but we're on 5 acres and, to date, the city of Sachse still offers no alternatives. So, as a homeowner, you have to watch everything that goes down a drain, even your garbage disposal. (I learned the hard way that it's not a dispose ALL). Get them emptied, at least, every 5 years. You don't wait for your toilet to fill to the brim before flushing is, do you?

Every time I call to see when this will happen, I am told how busy they are. I paid to have a site evaluation done almost a year ago and to date, do not have an installation date. I will find a new company to put in the new tank.
Description of Work: The driver who comes to drain the tanks is fantastic. He does a great job. We have been waiting a year to have a new tank dropped to replace a malfunctioning/crumbling one.

We've have a contract with them since we purchased this house. Our township requires that we have a contract with somebody. They have been very good. They come out on time and they do an excellent job. If there are any issues, they let us know. Rod is our guy. He is always upfront and checks everything out. We never see anything in the yard. We don't even know they've been here unless we are here or we find the card on the front door. Their prices are average; they are about the same as everybody else.

I have had a maintenance contract with AAA Septic for 12 years. Based on my most recent experience they proved to be the most responsive when compared to the ?A? rated companies on Angie?s List. During the Memorial Day weekend my septic system alarmed due to failure of the Grey Water pump. On Sunday, May 26th I called and left phone messages with AAA Septic and four (4) ?A? rated septic companies. I called again on Monday, May 27th and left messages with the same companies. Since it was a holiday weekend my expectation for a quick response was low. All companies met my expectation. When I called on Tuesday, May 28th, only AAA Septic answered the phone. I called the others to compare responsiveness. AAA Septic scheduled a technician to be at my house that afternoon. As I have a maintenance contract with them it seemed the least they could do. The technician showed up, quickly diagnosed the problem, and had the pump working within 20 minutes of arriving. There was a short in the control box to the septic system (the aerator pump was still operational. only the Grey Water pump was affected). He then went over the septic system components to insure all was operating correctly. He checked and cleaned the aerator, filter, and added chlorine. Since becoming a member of Angie?s List I am aware of the options available. My maintenance contract is up in June and I felt it would be a good time to shop my business. This emergency leveled the playing field. None of the companies have emergency or after-hours contact information. None of them performed follow up calls on phone messages left over the long weekend. During this kind of service outage the customer is left up to their own creativity and problem solving skills. Fortunately, a sump pump, extension cord, and 50? garden hose provided a temporary solution saving the aerator and promoting domestic harmony. Two days without toilet or shower facilities was not an option. Bottom Line: It comes down to the devil you know vs. the one you don?t. None of the companies rose to the occasion. However, AAA Septic answered the phone and reacted quickly; the other companies didn?t bother to follow up.

These guys have had the maintenance contract on the septic for my house for 5 years. I asked them on each visit if the system needed to be pumped, the answer was always no, not yet. It is one of those things, I should have known better, 6 years is way too long for a family of four to go. I wound up having to get it pumped when it became evident I had a problem. AAA would not return calls and finally I got another company to take care of it. He told me it was one the worst tanks he had seen in quite sometime and labeled AAA incompetent.

We purchased a new home in February 2012 which had an aerobic septic system on the premises. The prior owners had a contract with AAA Septic for the past 5 years. After closing AAA asked if we wanted to renew the contract. However, on the advice of our home inspector we had a different company come out and check the septic system. There was lots of things wrong. The filter screen was torn on about 15 different places, the spindle was worn to the point that it could have broken, the depth of one tank was not up to code, etc. In all it cost us$492.00 to replace everything. When I contacted AAA to ask if this had been brought to the attention of the previous homeowner, since if it had we would have recourse to recoup this money, we were told that they had been out there less than 4 months prior to that for a 'regular check' and nothing was wrong at that time. They even suggested that the other company had deliberately 'messed things up' just to charge us. Well, first that's very unprofessional, but second we were out there with the tech from the other company the whole time and took pictures. So, my question is...did AAA actually come out and check that system out as they were supposed to do according to their contract with the prior owners? Or, did they not check those things or did they just not care. Either way, we went with a different company.
Description of Work: None...due to prior lack of service.

Description of Work: We have had AAA Septic Service as our maintenance contract provider for over 10 years (until signing up with Angie's list, we never knew of any other aerobic system maintenance companies in our area). In those 10 years, overall, we have had incredibly poor service from them. A bit of background here.... We have a 4 bedroom, 3 bath house and our aerobic septic system is supposed to be able to accommodate a home with 5 people in it. However, there's only 2 of us living here, so we should have "overkill" on the capacity of our system versus the number of people actually using it. We do not put a lot of food down the garbage disposal, nor do we abuse the system. We just try to live a normal life. For years and years, we have had a continual issue with the aerator on our system. It just freezes up and completely stops working, and this happens several times a year. When this happens, we call the service department (Jody, the service manager) at AAA Septic Service. It is our understanding that if they cannot get our aerator working again, they take it away to "rebuild" it and give us a loaner to use in our system until such time as our rebuilt aerator comes back from whomever rebuilds it. However, the majority of the time, they have so many aerators failing at the same time, they don't have enough loaners to loan out to people. So our system (and what gets sprayed out the sprinklers) gets stinkier and stinkier because there's no air getting churned into the system. On top of not having enough loaners to cover all the failing equipment, Jody will also tell you they're coming on a certain day to work on your system or bring a part or bring the rebuilt aerator and they don't come when he tells you. You have to continually call, day in and day out, to try and get someone out to perform the work you're paying them to do. So either Jody lies to you on a regular basis, or he's the most ineffectual service manager on the planet, because the workers are constantly not showing up when Jody says they'll be showing up. Either way, it's a huge mess and we're just tired of trying to keep up with them. Due to the lying and the constant phone calls needed to "prod" them into action and the lack of loaner equipment when our actual equipment fails (which is happening on a much more frequent basis these days), we can only give this company a failing grade for their yearly maintenance contract service. They offer us no reasonable reason why we continue to experience failures of the equipment, and they do not offer any other solutions to resolve this failing equipment issue. We have tried replacing the failing equipment (at a big expense to us) along with the rebuilding of the failing equipment. They're just mystified over why these problems continue to happen. We're mystified over how they could still be in business.
