My daughter and I went shopping for a replacement microwave because hers was destroyed. We first shopped at Lowe's and found two which would meet her needs. We were quoted prices for each of the models. We then went all over town looking at similar models and decided that Lowe's offer was the best. When we returned to Lowe's and attempted to purchase the model the salesman said there was the problem placing the order and he needed to get his manager. The manager came over, looked at the file, and announced that the model the salesman offered to sell us was not available anywhere in the local area and he was not allowed to incur the expense to have one shipped in from outside the area. I explained the events of the day and that we have been told me could have this model at the quoted price, so if this model was now not available we wanted him to show us an equivalent model and sell it to us at the quoted price. After doing various searches, the manager, Jeff, said that he could get us one by June, but that he would not honor the previously quoted price...meaning it would cost us more than one hundred dollars more. We understand that mistakes are made, but if a firm makes a mistake, they should behave honorably after the customer has invested their time and effort, and at least offer another model at a reduced price. All the manager said was: "can't do that .... can't do that...". We left very disappointed in Lowe's and will not make future purchases there.
Description of Work: The salesman called the area manager and he kept saying he could do nothing!

For the door I went to Lowe's and used one of their contractors. I went to the Lowe's in Burleson. It is a big home improvement store. The providers that they contracted us, The job he did, he made it look so much better than it did when the house was built. They did a good job. He is coming back next Friday to do another door. I am so pleased that I decided to get another door, a storm door and have him come and put another one in. The work was meticulous. You never would have known that this wasn't the way the house was built so I would say it was meticulous precision, measuring and installation. The price, I thought that it was fair.
Description of Work: He did the door about 6 weeks ago. He came and put the door in, in March. These doors were a little over 200 dollars because they had to do custom work on the door to remove the old and then replace it with the new to make it work right for this house. I think that each door is a little over 200 dollars.

My experience with Lowe's Home Center #514 went fine. They didn't aggravate me, which was good. I don't usually go to Lowe's. I prefer a different home improvement store.

SINCE WE DID IT OURSELVES WE SAVED MONEY BUT THE EMPLOYEES MADE IT VERY EASY TO DO. ANY TIME WE HAD QUESTIONS THEY WHERE READY TO ANSWER. WE JUST TOOK THEM OUR ROOM DIMENSIONS AND THEY FIGURED EVERYTHING OUT. THEY ALSO MADE SURE WE HAD EVERYTHING WE NEEDED. I WAS REALLY IMPRESSED BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T TRY TO SELL US ANY UN-NEEDED ITEMS. OTHER STORES TRIED TO SELL US EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN.
Description of Work: WE PURCHASED LAMENT WOOD FLOORING FROM THEIR STORE. WE DECIDED TO DO IT OURSELVES TO SAVE A LITTLE MONEY. ALSO INCLUDED WAS THE BASE MOLDING, PADDING, AND TOOLS.
