Their sales rep came out and did a thorough assessment of our needs prior to ordering materials and creating the milling blades necessary to achieve the desired profile. We were given a tour of their facility and saw the heavy-duty equipment that would turn each board into a functional piece of art, with machine precision to 1/10,000th of an inch. When the slats were ready, Vintage sent a talented finishing carpenter to do the installation. The process took time, as each slat was installed at a 45 degree angle to the walls of the dining room, which would allow a different 'look' as one walked around the room. Each slat also had to be grooved at top and bottom to fit around metal placement cleats, and had to be aligned and spaced apart perfectly for the overall pattern to work properly. We are very pleased with the end result and credit Vintage Material Supply Co for their professionalism, attention to detail and superior craftsmanship. We have no hesitation in recommending their services.
Description of Work: We hired Vintage Material Supply Co to create a 29-piece vertical wood slat screen wall separating part of our dining room from our breakfast area and living room. Each of the vertical grain Douglas fir wood slats needed to be identically milled from 8' clear grade 2" x 6" x 8' boards into a semi-elliptical profile, then installed between the floor and ceiling beam. The slats would not only serve a decorative function, but would help carry part of the structural load of our house, as well.
