Their long-term contract requires a service call once every two weeks, which motivates me to do a quick tidying up beforehand (I am normally not a neatnik ...). Sometimes two, sometimes three arrive as a cleaning team--either way they are speedy, thorough and efficient.
Description of Work: Cleaned kitchen, large living room, three bathrooms, one bedroom. (I clean the second bedroom, which is my home office--as I would not trust anyone around my three computers and mountains of paperwork).

I initially met Brian and received a quote for services. It is reasonable for the services performed. The ladies came in for the first clean. I have a young child and we stayed home and out of their way during the clean. They made it easy on us and never made me feel uncomfortable or in the way. And afterwards - my house looked amazing. They did a fantastic job. Every other week afterwards, my "angels" arrive on time or early. Never late. I don't always have the same team, but the work was always done well. Nothing has been missed, broken, or messed up. I appreciate that the ladies are friendly to me and my children and do not make me feel uncomfortable for staying home while they do their job. They do great work and I highly recommend them. My house is aprox 3000 sq ft and we have four children. The cleans take about 2 hours. At first I found that fast and wondered if they weren't doing everything that is listed to be done. But I'm home and see them. They move fast. I mean fast. And they work well together. My house shines like the top of the Chrysler Building. Again, I highly recommend them.

Their initial clean was fine. Then they started their regular, bi-weekly services. I requested any time of the day, provided that they were done by 3:00. I was told this wouldn't be a problem. I came home on the first scheduled day of service at about 3:00, and they hadn't even been there yet. I called and was told they didn't know why. Adding to the frustration is the fact that you can't actually call the local office. You call the national number and they have to contact the local office. Well, they couldn't get a hold of the manager there (they said they tried 2 different people) but said they left a message for both of them to call me. An hour later I finally receive a phone call. Not from anyone that they left a message with from the local office regarding why they were hours late but from the national call center saying the cleaning crew was at my house, and my dog was not left outside as I said she would. Well, she WAS outside for the ENTIRE DAY. The fact that they were at least FOUR HOURS LATE without so much as a phone call is not my problem. I told them the dog was friendly (which she is), but they can put her back outside if they'd like as long as they let her back in. You could tell the person I was talking to had me on one line and the cleaning crew on another. I never once heard from anyone in the local office regarding the late start time. No apology - nothing. The cleaning itself if just OK. It is really no better than any other service I've used. They certainly don't go above and beyond. For example, I inadvertently left a glass in the kitchen sink. They literally moved the glass out of the sink, cleaned the sink, and then put the dirty glass back. I guess washing one glass or even putting it in the dishwasher was too much trouble. They also charge you if they change more than one set of sheets. In other words, if they change sheets in more than one bedroom, it costs extra. I have never used a service that did that. Most of the time it is just the master bedroom, but every couple of months, it may be the guest room as well (it's rarely used). That costs me extra money. Ridiculous. But by far the most frustrating aspect is that it is pretty much impossible to actually talk to someone in the local office. You have to leave messages, and then hope they call you back, which obviously they don't always do. So if I have a problem, question, or need to tell them something, I have to call, leave a message, call again, leave another message, wait for their call, and if I miss a return call (don't know about that because I've never actually received a return call), leave another message... Very, very inconvenient and not at all customer friendly. I have kept using them for several months hoping maybe service would get better, but it hasn't. I am currently looking for another cleaning service.

We do appreciate the timing flexibility you've allowed with scheduling and know how valuable the time with your children is in the afternoon. I understand it was frustrating when our management was unable to answer the phone that October day. As you know, you always reach a live TCA employee when you call between 7am and 7pm Mon- Sat. If our Austin management team is busy, you reach our corporate call center. Unfortunately that day they couldn't get a manager back in touch with you for an hour. Usually in an emergency they can reach a manager live, and I'm not sure why no one local was available to take your call that day. That is unusual and I'm sorry for the frustration it caused you. If our call center cannot successfully resolve an issue, our management team strives to return each call as quickly as possible the same business day. I hope they have been professional in your recent calls since this review written. Additionally, I hope quality has improved in the most recent 15 cleans. I was glad we got to discuss the misunderstandings we had and get on the same page regarding expectations. As you know, we updated your cleaning instructions where needed, and have been able to inspect your home on a few occasions since your October review. Our Training Director, Martha, has made notes indicating your team has been doing well. I know how busy you are... Hi Member, I am so sorry your move-in clean was disappointing; it was clearly not up to our usual standards. As you know, the team spent almost 12 man-hours the first day and another 4 man-hours at no charge the following day. From your feedback, I am sure we clearly could have done a better job. I think confustion in the cleaning instructions may have been a part of the problem. It seems they missed cleaning inside the drawers (an optional move-in clean request and cleaning some of the high trim on the kitchen cabinets. The special notes for the clean clearly stated the team should have gone inside the drawers, but I believe they were confused as the notes indicated not to clean the cabinets, baseboards, doors and door frames because they would be freshly painted. I realize our Satisfaction Guarantee (to reclean missed areas at no charge within 24 hours) is not always convenient. We prefer to get it right the first time, and clearly have the opportunity to better-clarify the items we should be cleaning, both on the job ticket and with the team. The initial estimate and "cleaning agreement" by the Manager were a little complicated because I was nervous about commiting to a firm schedule and I had no previous experience with this type of service. But now I understand the process better after the Initial Clean, which was very impressive and thorough. The results (Before vs. After) are amazing. Everything seems clean, shiny and new. I am very pleased with the professionalism of The Cleaning Authority, and I recommend their house cleaning services.

We have used The Cleaning Authority for a number of years. They have always been very professional, timely, and easy to work with. They send a team of 2-3 employees, usually the same group each time, so they are familiar with our house and the fact that the cats and dogs can't be let outside, which we really appreciate. I gave them a B on the price rating only because they seem to be pretty competitive with the market, but not below what we'd probably pay elsewhere as far as I know.

Their professionalism is terrible. I had communication problems with this company about my credit card which caused problems with collectors. I had my credit card on auto pay, but I lost my card. I called into the office and gave the secretary the card number over the phone. The secretary confirmed it was fine. Next thing I knew, I receive notices from collectors. After many attempts to get a hold of someone in the office, I finally got the secretary again, who blamed me for the problem, by saying that I gave her the wrong number. My credit card number never changed. The problem did get resolved, but not without a lot of headache. There is also language barrier. I told the cleaners that I needed them to use my vacuum because of my kid?s asthma, but each week they bring their own. For responsiveness, I can never get them on the phone. The price is not reasonable, since I pay weekly. There are times; I know that the cleaners have missed rooms. I will confirm that they were always on time. I do not recommend this company and will not use them in the future.

I am so sorry this customer ended up receiving collection letters. Our notes indicated at least four voice mails and emails were made in attempt to collect on this customer's three cleans. After three months of collection efforts and no payments or contacts were made, we sadly had to work with a collection company. Fortunately, the collection letters did generate a response and we were promptly paid. Then the collection process was stopped with no credit reporting and no credit damage. We always enter credit cards into an encrypted system. If a number is entered incorrectly, the sytem won't accept it. Once saved, we can only access the last four digits. Customers have two options for updating credit cards: they can go online to our MyTCA customer portal and enter it “self-serve,” or they can call our office and we will enter it while the customer is on the phone. While the report says we charged $200, the cost to clean this customer’s home was $98, plus tax. I am sorry that the customer’s communications to our Spanish-speaking team were not understood properly. Email is always best, but a phone call to the office will suffice to get the cleaning instructions entered properly in English and Spanish so that everyone will understand. Of course the team carries a company cell phone, so that team leader should have called the office and let our customer speak directly with a manager. On the initial clean when the cost was hourly, rooms were cleaned that I did not ask for. When it was a flat rate after that rather than hourly, rooms I asked to be cleaned were not. An alarm contact was damaged on the first visit. On the second, the stove knob was set to ignite for several hours before I came home and smelled gas in the kitchen. On the third visit, the neglected rooms were still not touched. After that, I was done. Also, I was never told about an extra charge for using a credit card.
Description of Work: Bi-weekly housecleaning. Cost is per clean for about 1500 square feet. First clean was hourly - I don't remember how much, but it was a lot (and our house was not THAT dirty to begin with).

The ladies have all been very professional and industrious. The service has made every effort to accommodate my needs, and supervisors come by frequently to see how things are going. I am extremely pleased with their work. They are careful and thorough. Although they do not speak English fluently, we usually can communicate well enough. If athey don't understand something they call their supervisor who talks with me and then explains our conversation to them.
Description of Work: I have a specific team that comes weekly and cleans the house. This service has a rotating schedule which they use to clean one area in detail each time in addition to the normal weekly cleaning. They provide a schedule each time of which area is to receive more attention and which area is scheduled for more attention the next time they come.

Overall we're satisfied, but not thrilled. It seems like there's a different cleaning crew every week, so quality is inconsistent. The first year we were with them we had pretty much the same crew each time, and they knew which cabinet our kitchen trash was in, where to get replacement trash bags, etc. New crews each week make it hard for consistency. Also, they can't seem to place stuff in the place it was before they arrived. I'll start washing my hands and then can't find the soap, only to find they placed it on the other side of the counter. It drives me crazy. Also, the crews come on the right day but rarely at the same time each week. It's frustrating not being able to plan your day since my wife works from a home office. Will they be making noise first thing in the morning or will they come late in the afternoon? But overall the price is right for what you get. They beat their competitor's price by about 15%, and I'm not sure that any of the other franchises in town would do a better job.

We used The Cleaning Authority for a year or more and then decided to try to go without a cleaning service, thinking to save money. We couldn't come close to doing what the 2 women would do in 1/2 a day and after a year called them to come back. The dust and pet hair is much better when they clean (better vacuums? I don't know) and our allergies are also better. It might be less expensive to find an individual, but I think their prices are fair and they are extremely reliable.
Description of Work: They come every other week and do a very good job. They clean the entire house each visit, but concentrate on a particular area each time to do the extra intensive cleaning. The women who come are very courteous and friendly. I have called for various reasons in the past and you may get an answering service, but they seem to return calls quickly.

The ladies have come twice so far, and I am delighted. One of the ladies on the cleaning team kept asking me if everything to my liking. It was clearly important to her that I was happy with their work. It made me feel welcome to make suggestions without feeling like I was micro-managing them. In the end, there was little need to make suggestions...they did that good of a job. One of the salesman made me a little uncomfortable at first by insisting on the keys to my house in case they arrived when I wasn't home. I'm a stay-at-home mom. So, I didn't think that was necessary. In the end, I ended up working with another salesman (the one who wrote up the original estimate), and we compromised by making my house the first cleaning of the day for the team. That way, I could guarantee that I would always be home because I'd always be scheduled first thing in the morning. I'm glad I gave CA that second chance. If they had refused to compromise, I wouldn't have hired them.
Description of Work: They charged $168 for the first two cleans, and $125 thereafter every other week. I have a 3100 sq. ft. house. A two-woman team has come twice so far, and I am very pleased. The first two cleans are deep cleans of the house (1/2 of the house deep cleaned, 1/2 of the house generally cleaned). After that, they do a general cleaning thereafter of the whole house and do a deep clean of 1/4 of the house, rotating the deep cleaned area to another part of the house each time. They are very careful and don't rush through the cleaning. So far, they clean my house with the detail and care as though it was their own house. Some of my other friends have a cleaning service too, and there's always something that they're not happy with. So far, this has not been the case with the team from the Cleaning Authority. During the first two cleans, an inspector came to see how the work was going too, and then later someone called me to make sure I was satisfied with the work. How professional!

Overall, I'm very pleased with the services provided, our house is spotless. We have a dog, and while cleaning windows is not on the traditional list of services, Norman agreed to add that for certain windows in our home that the dog frequently gets dirty. However, in the interest of a fair assessment, on the first visit, a light fixture and a shower head were broken as a result of the cleaning crew. Unfortunately, getting the light fixture repaired took 5 weeks, and a lot of calls and emails back and forth (we opted to fix the shower head ourselves), which was very frustrating. We have not had any issues since then, and expect to continue using this company. The price is fair, and the attention to detail while cleaning is impressive. The overall rating of A is specific to cleaning services; I have reflected the light fixture issue with the other ratings of B.
Description of Work: I contracted with The Cleaning Authority for bi-weekly cleanings in August. The first two cleanings were detailed cleanings, and the ongoing cleanings are general for the whole house, and detailed rotational cleans every visit (e.g., living room, bathrooms, etc.). We have a 2400 sq. ft house and 3 pets, to put the price into perspective.

I did not keep this company on for several reasons. There was a language barrier, which sometimes made it difficult to communicate. They also sent out several people to do the cleaning and not always the same crew. They were also quite expensive. The work they did was up-to-par, but I desired a more consistent feel from a cleaning service.
Description of Work: They came on a monthly basis to do the general cleaning of my 3700 square foot house. This included the bathrooms, kitchen, vacuuming, dusting, and whatever else came up.

Regarding the language barrier, we always ask customers to communicate directly with our office. We used to require our applicants speak English, but have found that by creating training videos, quizzes, etc., and having fully bilingual management and bilingual cleaning instructions for each customer, we have improved our quality. We now have access to a much larger pool of qualified applicants who appreciate this difficult work, and who appreciate the career opportunity. We have a much more tenured staff, attendance is much improved and we never have any alcohol or drug problems. When we required English, we had a more transient workforce. If customers will communicate requests, special instructions, etc. with our office, we can more effectively manage our personnel.

On this visit, they concentrated on a very detailed cleaning of the kitchen. Every 2 weeks, they choose a different room to do a detailed cleaning on. The rest of the house then gets the usual general cleaning, which is still very good.
Description of Work: The company usually sends out two to three workers every 2 weeks to clean my 3000 square feet house. The last time they came out, they vacuumed, mopped, disinfected, and wiped down all surfaces on the interior. They were there for about 2 hours.

Overall we have been pleased with the service performed. The owner is very responsive to any comments or complaints. We have not had any specific "complaints" but we did ask them to use specific cleaners in specific areas. I think they do a good job. I don't think it is exceptionally outstanding. But it is a good job. They are very professional and courteous.
Description of Work: We use The Cleaning Authority for bi-weekly cleaning at our house. The house is 1960 sq ft and we have all hard surface floors (tile and laminate) except for some rugs here and there. They use the rotating "areas of focus" method.

They were awful to work with. We never could get them to commit to an appointment to come out. We'd call, they'd take our information and promise to call back, but the call never came. When we called them for the third time, they claimed to have no record of us in the computer. At that point, we decided to go with someone else.
Description of Work: I was impressed with advertising we received in the mail for Cleaning Authority, which described their "detail clean" technique. We're about to sell our house, so we called them out to do a complete top to bottom cleaning. Their price is $75/hour with a $150 minimum. I presume that's for two people.

We did receive 2 calls from the member and returned them both. When she called for the 3rd time, our call center had no record of her since we had taken the first 2 calls in the office. We understand how important our prompt response is and price ourselves in our ability handle the many requests we receive daily. Unfortunatley, these calls came in during our very busy Memorial Day week. We have since implemented a call tracking system that will allow us to collaborate more closesly with our call center to prevent this from happening in the future. I think it is also important to point out that we never served this customer. While we may deserve low marks for our responsiveness. I believe our price is competitive and professionalism exceptional.

I have used the Cleaning Authority for about 3 months and have been very pleased with their work. They performed a detailed cleaning the first 2 visits. They do a general clean each visit and a rotating detail clean for a certain area. Each area of the house will get a detail clean every 4 visits. They also empty trash and change sheets! I have 2 dogs and they have done a good job with the pet hair. My only complaint is that when I started with them I was told that I would usually have the same people cleaning each time, but it seems to be different people each visit. It is so nice to come home to a clean house!

They did not show at 8 am as expected. I called them at noon, & they said they were running late & showed up shortly after that. The house looks great.
