They were polite, informative, and helpful though. They did not charge me for the initial visit. They did have a warranty offered for 10 years for the labor.

They have been out a total of 4 times for us. They came out initially and I have non-standard garage door size, so the first trip they could not do the work since they did not have a part for my door. They came back and they did something else for me too. Yesterday they came out and the manufacture sent them the wrong part. They are trying to make everything right thought. The same technician has been back every time. He seems to be doing the work that needs to be done with the equipment that he has.

I did have a problem with the receptionist though, I felt like she was short with my questions, but the technician did a good job.

This morning we could not get it open. We called and left a message; they will be coming out tomorrow in the morning from 9-11. We do use our garage for most of our entering and exiting; so now it is kind of inconvenient. About 2-3 weeks ago we had a loose screw that made it impossible to be able to lift the garage; my husband was able to repair that. They were good when they came out to install that, but I think waiting a day to have the garage door opener repaired is a little too much. As far as an emergency, I feel like we do have to wait.

That service turned out great. It took one technician about half a day. They were helpful with scheduling. They were understanding when we initially had a plan to delay the service a couple of weeks. The gentleman who did the installation, came back to replace insulated panels for us. He said I would not notice them, but he did and I think that says about a lot of the company. He was also able to get our quiet our garage doors too. They run smoother and they really did go above and beyond. The gentleman who came out to give us the cost for the job. He was well quipped. He also had a tablet and was well prepared to show us what we were getting for our money. He expanded over and over what we were getting for our money. It was hard for me to visual the thickness of the metal, so he was able to explain it to me in a couple different ways for me to finally understand the differences of thickness in metal for the doors. That was just great and helpful.

They are excellent! They put in a new automatic motor and springs. They came out to fix a minor thing. We have been very pleased and we would not use anyone else. I wished I could give them an A+.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. There were no additional charges.

It was excellent. They were very professional. They came by and showed us everything, and they made sure that we were very clear on what was going on. They were prompt and really easy to work with. The cost of service was the big deal amount. We would definitely use them again in the future.

I purchased the deal about a month ago. They never showed and I never got a call from them.

Excellent service, spent a lot of time inspecting the mechanics of the door and was clear in explaining what needed to done to the door. Brian was very professional and very courteous he knew his job and you could tell he did. Well worth the money spent

Discovering early on Labor Day that my garage door wouldn't open because one of the torsion springs was broken, I called Precision Door Service at around 8:00am, half expecting to get an answering service advising me to call back after the holiday. To my pleasant surprise, the phone was answered by a real person, who promised that a technician would show up between 9:00am and 11:00am. A few minutes after 9:00am the technician, Chris Keate, called to say he was on his way, and 10 minutes later he showed up. He made sure that we agreed on his diagnosis (a broken spring) and his recommendation (replacement of both springs). Also revealed was the repair's price; $585 seemed to me just short of unacceptable, but when one's car is trapped in the garage on a holiday, one doesn't argue. Forty-five minutes later, the door was once again in working order. My previous spring replacement was some years ago, but I didn't recall it being so expensive, so later the same morning I did a little research on the repair's price. The Angie's List page on "How much should a garage door spring replacement cost?" gives a ballpark price of $200-$250, plus $50 if both springs are replaced. Precision's invoice shows a charge of $45 for labor, which is quite reasonable. The parts, however, are another story. The invoice shows one center bearing at $49 and two torsion springs at $225 each, for a total cost for parts of $499. Center bearings are available for $5 from PreferredDoorService, which offers two springs of the size and quality installed by Precision for $87, for a total of $92. Even assuming that Precision can't get a better price than I can find in a few minutes on the Web, that's a markup of 442%. Doesn't that seem a bit high? When I showed these comments to Precision, their response was as follows: <begin response> //separator inserted because indentation is not working As you can probably understand there are a lot of costs to what we provide as a company as a whole. 1. Marked trucks so you know what company is coming. 2. Employees, not subcontractors, that are background checked and drug tested to ensure your safety in your home. 3. We are fully insured, if a tech gets hurt in your garage we are insured for that, if a subcontractor gets hurt he could sue you because it happened in your home. 4. Highly trained techs that are certified and tested by the International Door Association. 5. Our parts are the ONLY parts that are specially engineered for our company. We use powder coated springs so they cannot rust. Our industry norm is 10,000 cycles, our springs are rated for 50,000 cycles. We warranty those springs for 5 years and in some cases lifetime depending on the replacement of other components. I respect your review, but we have had these prices for the last 10 years and they have been determined based on costs to run a reputable business that will always be in business to be able to take care of warranty issues. We are a nationwide franchise so we have a corporate office backing this franchise. I hope that this explains why our costs are what they are. There are many ?tailgating? companies in this business and we strive to always be around for our customers if issues arise in the future. <end response> The 5-year warranty on springs (point 5) is welcome news to me--it was never mentioned by the technician and is not noted on the invoice. Taken as a whole, Precision's explanation paints a picture of a high-quality company which charges accordingly. I have no problem paying for high-quality work, but customers on a tighter budget may find adequate service for a lower cost.

. We purchased a service package for each door through Angie's list. This included full service, checkup and some parts replacements on both doors. The service was done in a knowledgeable fashion. We are totally satisfied with the work and the warranty on the work. Will definitely use Precision Door again should we need any additional work. Or, if we decide to change our doors.

We called them because the previous opener was broken, they did the tune up, roller replacement and he installed a new garage door opener to bring the door to code. He came out the same day that I purchased the deal. The service was great and the garage door is very quiet now.

Since the problem was not corrected I an unhappy with the service and would not use them again. See above for problem

I highly recommend Rich Trader as a technician. He was on-time, very professional, friendly and went above and beyond. He was able to fix my problems, and did not attempt to upsell me anything I didn't need. I got the angie's deal for annual inspection and roller replacement. In addition, my opener was broken, so he replaced the whole thing. It was a good price, and was so much better than the old one. I just assumed that all garage doors were noisy, but now they are whisper quiet. I don't have to time when I use the garage around when my husband is sleeping anymore! Rich made sure that I knew how to operate and re-set the outdoor panel before he left. My only issue was that one of the rollers popped off the next day. I called to have this fixed, but was never contacted to make an appointment. I chalked this up to them being overwhelmed with the angie's deal customers. When I came back two weeks later after vacation, I contacted them again and they were able to make me an appointment for the same day. Rich was my technician again, and he was super speedy. Everything works great now!

It runs and sounds like it is brand new. I'll be calling them back for all future garage door services.

Door works better than new after he installed new upgraded wheels and adjusted springs and latches.

Rick showed up right on time, was very thorough in his explanation of what he was going to do, discussed maintenance with me and made suggestions for future adjustments/replacements as needed. Brian did a complete inspection..found some issues that needed attention...most laymen look at a garage door system and if it goes up and down then it must be ok. ..well not so much...lots of moving parts...important stuff!!!Brian recommend. Some repairs...price was very reasonable and I now have the quietest. Safest. Double wood door in town...it's. Almost 30 years old...

Originally, they had come out to service the door last year. Then they came back this year and apparently, the company had changed local ownership and they no longer carried the electric door that I had. It was going to require a complete replacement. But the good news is they came back and they were able to work with the vendor and get me a replacement with no charge to me. Actually, I was very happy. They went through and ordered it and probably within a week or so were able to bring out the new part and put it in. It was a new electronic board that they put it. I thought they did a great job going up and beyond what you would have expected them to do. To come back for them to do the board replacement, it didn't cost me anything. There was an initial service charge when they came out. It was under warranty. It would have cost me about $500 if I replaced the door. I was very satisfied. I was really impressed with their service man. When I first called them out for $45, that's just your service charge, he came out and he spent about 4 or 5 hours trying to see if he could fix it. If he could go through and look at the logic. He couldn't do that and finally he said, "Well, we're going to try to go back to the vendor" and they did. I was truly pleased.

It was not good. One time I had a problem with the door and they came in and tried to fixed it dragged it up. I don't think it's the best. They could improve on their response and done right and not to repeat it.

I was very satisfied and will use them again in the future.

I had a good experience. In general they were good about coming out and fixing the problem. There was one issue that did not get resolved properly. We had problems one time with the rollers not allowing the door to close and they came out and fixed it, basically, at their cost. We appreciated that. They came out right away.

The good news: We were leaving for vacation the next day and they came out immediately (on a Saturday) to fix door so it would go down. The bad news: The technician also said that my door system was dangerous and completely worn out, and wrote me up an estimate for $800 to repair. I paid the service change and told him I was going to get a second quote on the extensive repair. Called another local firm and the owner of the company himself inspected our door and said that there was absolutely nothing wrong with it and no repair were needed. I was concerned that the technician from Precision Door may not be trained correctly, so I called Precision Door and asked to speak to the owner. He was very rude on the phone, even though I was providing a suggestion. Do not do business with this company. Every time I see their ads on TV I cringe and wonder how many people they are overcharging.

i called and asked for fast service because my car was stuck in the garage and the door wouldn't open. they were busy and said they could do it tomorrow for sure but would call if they got a chance to do it earlier. a few minutes later, the technician called and said he could do it in about 15 minutes. he arrived with everything required and fixed the whole thing in about an hour. he clearly knew exactly what he was doing and was very efficient and thorough. i think it was less than two hours from my initial call till it was all done. the service was outstanding! i certainly plan to use precision door service again if i need to replace the garage door opener, etc.
