Peoples Signature Flooring

Every step of the process with Robert and Julie was a welcome breath of fresh air in contracting with someone to do a job for you. They should all be this informative and the project go so well. My first phone conversation with Robert was great. He gave me expert advice on how best to proceed in selecting replacement flooring for our home. He suggested that we wait a couple of weeks because he was going to be getting in the newest samples from his manufacturers, and that gave us an opportunity to narrow down the flooring type we were most interested in. He also gave us several locations to visit where some of the flooring we were interested in had recently been installed. He emailed us before and after photos of jobs that his company had done, illustrating the various types of flooring choices. Both having the photos, and seeing other installations, really helped us decide on the type of flooring we liked and did not like. We set up an appointment, and Robert came out and spent 3.5 hours showing us all the types of flooring we were interested in, showed us how each one would look in our home, and answered all of our questions about each type. He described what his company would and would not do, and gave us a bid. He also shared with us a number of tips on how best to prep our home before the project to minimize our cleanup once the project was completed. We accepted the bid and Julie gave us a call to set up the time for demo and installation. We had some other things going on, and Julie worked with us on a time frame that best fit our schedule. Anvert and his crew showed up at the appointed time to begin their work. He went over what needed to be done, and what he needed us to do, which was very little during this project. We were very impressed with how hard this crew worked, how they kept the work site so clean and were so professional and respectful of our property. They worked late each day and were able to complete the project in just three days, which was ahead of their original schedule. A week later, Anwert and his crew came out on a Saturday to do all the things on our punch list. Robert came out a week after that and took pictures of our installation, and answered all of our remaining questions. We absolutely would use People's Signature Flooring again, and will recommend them highly to family, friends and anyone who needs flooring work.

Removal of the old floor and the install of the new sheet vinyl flooring (excellent quality product) went well. The manner in which the toilet was pulled made the reinstall (not part of the contract) tedious for us - the mounting screws were bent. We just fixed it - we did not mention this to the company. We had an issue where the rubber baseboard installed at the joint of the floor and the tub did not install well. We called the company and they sent someone out to replace it and recheck the rest of the floor. Very good job. Very professional communication with customers. A pleasure to work with.

I found Peoples Signature Flooring while scouring through Angie's List for new flooring. I wasn't sure of what I would want, and liked that someone from their company would come to our house with know-how and many samples. I called and left a message, and received a call back quickly. Before coming over for an appointment, Robert talked to me at length about what I needed, recommending certain materials and what to steer clear of. He said that our appointment would last about three hours, and that it would be best if my husband were there with me, so we could make decisions together. The day Robert came, my husband ended up needing to be away on business. I'm fairly certain that my husband wasn't aching to be involved in a three hour long decision, but Robert had been right; it would have been helpful to have him there, so I wouldn't second guess my decisions. Robert was super helpful, though, and brought in one gorgeous carpet sample after another. I did not see one ugly piece, and was surprised by that. I was pretty wishy-washy, though, and had a very hard time narrowing my choices. In the end, we went with another company for two reasons. 1)The carpet sample I chose was gorgeous, as they all were, but once Robert did the math, it ended up costing significantly more than our final choice. Had I asked Robert to try to keep the price within a certain range, I'm certain that he would have accommodated my wish. 2) He does not carry tile samples with him, but he does recommend a good number of tile stores in Austin. I did go to them all, and brought some samples home. In the end, once again, I liked a certain porcelain tile that another company carries on their truck. I do feel that for those who are less wishy-washy than I and know what they want, you cannot get get a better selection of gorgeous flooring than what Peoples Signature Flooring provides. It is with a heavy heart that I say we did not purchase from them, for they were so friendly, professional, helpful, and have beautiful flooring products. We are happy with what we got and with the company that we ended with, but I hated to not use Peoples Signature Flooring. What a nice problem, to have too many good companies out there!

People's was super easy to work with (responsive, thorough, etc). Installation was immaculate. Highly recommend.

Peoples signature flooring is fantastic. They come to you and bring samples and can write up an estimate on the spot. What a time saver. The price is very reasonable and comparable to other locations. Plus they save you time driving around or on the phone trying to get estimates. Installation was smooth and they always follow up to ensure the customer is happy! I highly recommend them.

I searched for the store based on their address per their web page, but it is for a P.O. Box. It would have been helpful to know that they come to you up front. After that, everything was great. They worked with me on my preferred days and were able to do the job in one day less than planned.

The entire process was uneventful. That is high praise in Austin and for such a big job. Everything was handled professionally. The install team was very good. There was very good attention to detail. Everything was explained clearly and followed up on. Perhaps not the least expensive option, but you get fast, high quality service.

They were wonderful. We've used them four or five times. We have been very happy with their product and what we have chosen and their service. I have used them off and on for 15 years for carpet, tile and all kinds of things. I have recommended to several people. They came out as soon as I called them. Other people have used them because of my recommendation.

Couldn't be better. Professional, timely, courteous and great follow up. I would use them again and recommend them.

We received a good value for our money and appreciate the effort by Robert and Julie in carpeting our home. Before selecting Peoples, we did benchmark big box stores and some other shops to get a feel for the carpet we wanted and the price range one could expect to pay. You can save yourself a lot of time if you don't wish to do that and calling Robert from the start. Robert has more samples in his truck than my guess three or four big box stores all together. So I would say to you, he can really make carpet selection easy knowing a few basic items such as your leanings and your budget. All in all, we knew what we wanted and Roberts many suggestions just confirmed the selections we had already made. He has several carpet installation crews which enable him to meet his schedule. While you will likely save some money if you do select a big box store, I don't think it will be enough to justify going with an unknown commodity as far as the quality and installation crew that might be randomly selected, and that in my opinion is the bottom line, you get what you pay for. He warranties his work but we have not had any problems, its quite well done and his crew repaired some broken concrete at one of the door thresholds. The only glitch we had is that with the particular installation crew we had, I wound up helping with the furniture move more than I wanted, perhaps a misunderstanding as to the crew wanting to finish without going into an extra day into a Saturday, so I helped somewhat. That was not comprehended in the plan for me to be as involved to the extent I was, but I chose to since we were also anxious to finish that Friday after living two weeks out of a bedroom due to another contractors wood floor refinishing. Absent that misunderstanding with the crew, and I think somewhat complicated by starting on a Thursday rather than Wednesday, they gave us a very high quality install at a reasonable price. After the job is done, Robert does come out and inspect the work to ensure it meets his standards. Thanks, Peoples!

They were very professional, friendly, and hard-working. The owner arrived on time for our first meeting and spent 4 hours with us showing us wood and carpet samples. Unlike other places where samples were 6 by 3 inches, they brought large wood planks so we could get a good idea how the wood would look on our floor. He had a much larger selection of wood samples than other places we had looked at and they did a good job of narrowing the options to our specific style. He was very knowledgeable and gave us direction in the type of wood and carpet that would look best and was also most practical. Due to rain, both our carpet and wood installations got delayed. They called us frequently and kept us up-to-date on all changes. When they put in our carpet they scratched the railing that we had just stained. Fortunately, our wood railing was stained dark and they covered the scratches with sharpie marker (which luckily worked). The floor prep for the wood took all day and left a fine dusk EVERYWHERE. The wood installation took 1 day also and went well. They gave us a complimentary wood cleaning kit.

I recently purchased a 4-year old condo in So. Austin. The carpeting was "contractor grade" and already needing to be replaced. I initially went to Home Depot and frankly the sales lady was quite knowledgeable and helpful. I then went to a local Flooring company in So. Austin. I won't mention the name, but "royalty" is part of it. These folks were awful. In both cases I made it rather easy. I told them I wanted the best carpeting for my application. Both the sales person and the manager at the Flooring company were unable to explain why any of the carpeting was the best. I was astonished by the lack of knowledge from these "specialists". I don't know why but for some reason I forgot to check out Craigslist. I did and found Robert of Peoples Carpeting. He is a PROFESSIONAL! Everything went perfectly and I paid considerably less than at Home Depot and this Specialty Flooring Company. Robert knows his stuff. He arrived at my home on time with a huge selection of samples to discuss. He also helped me narrow down choices and actually recommended the least expensive option among the best carpets. A couple of days later Robert's wife called to set up a specific installation date, 2 weeks later. This past Monday, Joe and George arrived to remove my old carpet and install the new. These guys are also Pro's. The worked non-stop to complete the job by the evening and their installation was PERFECT! I could not be more satisfied! My recommendation hands down - People Signature Flooring. My next flooring job I will not even shop. I'll just call Robert! Bill Meyer

In summary, it was flawless. The installation team is the best...very professional and courteous. They demo'd the tile floor and prepped the concrete. I can't believe that I was thinking about doing the demo myself...very glad I had this team to do it. We had been warned by everyone that there would be tons of dust everywhere in the house, so I covered everything. Turns out that the tools they used were really effective in picking up the dust; there was very little dust even in the non-protected areas. After the demo, they took about 1.5 days to install the wood flooring. The installation of the flooring was very nice..very smooth and no gaps where the wood met the walls...and we had a lot of funky angles around some of our cabinets. I would highly recommend this company...their product selection is good and the installation team is the best by far.

We needed the flooring replaced in a rental property in Austin. Within a day of contact, Robert went to the property, measured and developed a basic quote. Because we do not live close to the property, Robert was able to supply us a nice selection of options via email. The removal, cleaning, disposal, and installation were basically done in an unsupervised way. We inspected the property a week later and could not be more pleased with the result. Just a very nice installation. We really appreciate the professionalism of Peoples Signature Flooring.

Their recommendation was to go to a brink and mortar store and shop around for what I liked. Well, I went to chase flooring and they were able to answer all of my questions and make recommendations on the spot so I went with them instead and was extremely pleased.

The owners of Peoples are so kind and answered all my questions. They set a date to start work and were even available a day early. The floors look perfect and they finished a half a day before what they had predicted. Kind, professional, and great craftsmanship. I would hire People flooring again in a second.

From the first phone call with Peoples Flooring I was 100% satisfied. I received bids from 2 other places and Mr. Peoples was the last one I received. He spent so much time with us making sure we knew all of the options, colors, and upkeep required. It was my daughter and myself so it was back and forth on what we wanted, and he was always so patient. I guess the main points are, Julie and Robert Peoples, the owners, were 100% hands on. Every time they said they would be there, they were. Every thing they said was going to happen, happened. The floors turned out to be the most beautiful wood floors I have ever seen. They are truly the best investment I have made in my home. I credit Mr. Peoples for assisting us in the decision making process. Julie Peoples has always been so helpful and knowledgeable, with amazing customer service skills. Every time she said something was scheduled, or was set up, it was always exactly what she said. In closing, I recommend Peoples Signature Flooring 100%. They made the experience easy and I never felt frustrated or uncertain, just ecstatic with the finished product.

I was very happy with the two person crew that performed the installation. Very knowledgeable and professional. I live in a "home build" house so there are many little quirks that are normally never noticed but when doing work like this the installer has to recognize these differences and know how to adjust. I am happy to say that this team did this well. I was originally told that they would not be able to schedule my install for 6-8 weeks however they were able to work things out and had it installed in 3 weeks from my order and in time for thanksgiving. Great people to work with.

Robert and Julie are great to work with and so friendly! Peoples Signature Flooring provides an amazing service. Generally, you go to a flooring store, take home a few small samples, find out the colors are all wrong, and repeat the process over and over until you finally get it right. Well...not with Peoples Signature Flooring. Robert brings all the samples right to your house! That's right--Robert has a truck filled with samples of hardwood flooring, tiles, and carpets. It made the entire selection process so easy and efficient. I was able to make my hardwood selection in one meeting. But be prepared for a 2-3 hour consultation meeting to look at all the samples. Robert was so helpful and patient. He brought in samples based on our prior conversation of my likes and dislikes. And the samples where actually 3-5 boards of each type of hardwood, not a small sample you get at most flooring stores. It was so much easier to determine what I liked because the samples were large. And Robert even moved the samples to different areas of my house to show me how the flooring would look with my furniture. The entire process was so easy! Another benefit of working with Peoples Signature Flooring is that Robert has used the same installation crews for several years. It took a few weeks to schedule the installation but it was well worth it. The crew who installed the hardwood is actually three brothers who know what they're doing! They were well prepared (due to Robert's clear instructions) and worked long hours. Our job included demolition of tile, carpeting, and baseboards and then installing hardwood floors and new baseboards. The crew was polite, efficient, and neat! We also had carpeting installed in three bedrooms and that crew did a great job, too! I strongly recommend Peoples Signature Flooring. The selection process was easy and convenient, the crews showed up on time and stayed on schedule, the installations went smoothly, and the hardwood floors and carpeting are beautiful!

The installation crew was timely and we are very happy with the finished product.

The workers stayed at work until done. We had a large bump on the slab. they ground down and filled around until it was just right.
