Isdale Construction

Overall, we were extremely pleased with Stephen and the entire Isdale crew. Stephen is a young guy, but has a degree in construction management from A&M and lots of experience. He was able to work with our architect to finalize the plans and give us a very accurate and reasonable estimate. He was very thorough in his estimate, and brought up several potential issues in our plans, which other bidding contractors hadn't bothered to notice. He met with us several times to work out all the details and give us a timeline. The original timing estimate was 2 weeks, which turned out to be a little off due to some permit delays and whatnot. But having done remodeling before, we expected this and were happy with a complete project after 5 weeks. Demolition took one day, and Stephen was extremely conscientious about protecting the rest of our home from damage and dirt. This was the case throughout the project, actually - he contained the dust and debris with plastic sheeting, and was very careful to cover up our hardwood floors. All in all, we were very happy with the final result. The quality of the work was very good, and any changes or repairs we requested along the way were fixed promptly and without argument. Also, Stephen did not nickel and dime us when unexpected problems came up - he stuck to the original estimate. One example: we needed to replace a small area of siding, and instead of buying more of our existing siding, which is cheap plastic, he recommended Hardibacker, and purchased it without charging us extra. He also helped us find low-cost solutions to keep the project within our budget, as was the case with the custom cabinets he sourced for us. He was easy to contact, and was very responsive via email and text, which many contractors don't use. It made communication very easy, and we always knew the status of the project. Overall, I would highly recommend Isdale Construction to anyone. They were on-budget, honest, respectful of our time and our home and committed to doing quality work without constant oversight. I would trust them with any project, and will no doubt use them again in the future.
