Best Austin Handyman & Remodeling

It was absolutely fabulous! The man they sent was 15-20mins early and was ready to go. There was nothing that I wanted that wasn’t completed. He had all his tools and knew had to do everything. It was the best experience I have ever had with a handyman!!!

Handyman did a good job. He came when he said he would and he did a good, thorough job. I am happy with the end product.

The men who did the work were on time, polite, efficient and did exactly what I wanted them to do with the materials I provided. When there wasn't enough of the new screening material for the whole project, they re-used the best of the old screen to finish up. They cleaned up completely, including any screws and staples they removed, and disposed of the waste. I was very happy with their performance and the look of the completed porch. There were no communication issues whatsoever. Very professional!

Getting an appointment with the vendor is quite easy. They do a very good job about asking what are the required services and provide an estimate on how many hours it will take. Initially I had a 2 hour coupon and provided a list of items to be done. The vendor clearly mentioned the accurate time it will take which was way more than what I estimated. I was scheduled for 2 handy men for the job. One handy man arrived on site on time. He checked on the priority and also looked for things that were missing. For the items that were required to complete the task, he called the second handy man to buy those items. The second handy man purchased the required items in Home Depot and arrived as expected. He second man called from Home Depot when he had questions and also Home Depot called to get my credit card information for the items. They started working on the priorities and were handling in a very efficient manner. They did all the required prep work for every item. for eg, for painting they clearly taped the required areas and also putting appropriate items in the floor to take care of spills. Once the vanity was installed it required some plumbing services. Since the handy men were not licensed for plumbing they found a qualified plumbing person the same day. For plumbing services, the cost was a little high than the handy men price but that was expected. The handy men also used some items from their trucks like sealant and so on when it was required. I have already used the services of the vendor for 2 separate occasions and I was satisfied with the services both times.

The young man arrived on time, had me take him around to get an overview of all that needed to be done. He worked on the list and continued to give me feedback as he went from one item to another. I was very satisfied with the service and would use them again.

I bought the 7-hour service coupon off Angie's List. They were very responsible getting back to me when I wanted to set up an appointment. As a matter of fact, they called numerous times when I was hard to reach. The handyman showed up exactly on time and was able to address all of our big and little projects. He was professional, courteous, and clean. He was able to get the original work finished within the allotted timeframe but then I thought of a couple of other little projects so he stayed an extra hour. The rate they charged me for that extra hour was exactly what was quoted on Angie's List. I will definitely use this company again.

The fence in the backyard needed repair and I called for tenders with 2 other specialty companies before choosing this one. The fencing companies were at least twice as expensive. Perhaps the job would have been of higher quality, but I am fully satisfied with the results obtained here.

Everything went smoothly. He was able to do most everything on my list.

They are hard working... but our initial workers seemed to be out matched by our project. They were nice and professional, work hard but the job wasn't completed to our satisfaction. They did send out the expert who spent another 4+ hrs on the door to make it better - at no charge, so they did stand behind their work. The whole process was a little fustrating. .. I had the two hr handyman coupon... but blew thru that quickly and ended paying another $400+ . I was a bit surprised by the duration of the project and the cost.

One person came to prep the walls. Another came to finish that work. Two others came to spray on the texture. By the time it was finished I was satisfied that I could paint, but I had to clean up the mess including redoing the caulking. Too many different people were involved. Each left a little bit and it added up in the end. I was not confident that they were knowledgeable. They were quite likable, though.

Purchased an Angie's list "Big Deal of the Day" for two hours of handyman services, which stated it could be one person for two hours or two people for one hour. They showed up 30 minutes late, reviewed the list then one person worked while the second individual watched- doing absolutely nothing. About 30 minutes after they arrived, I explained that it was my expectation that when two people showed up, both were going to be working on different items on the "to-do" list. They said they understood, then nothing changed- the same individual worked while the other individual watched and chatted with him. It took an additional hour and a half beyond the promotion that I purchased to complete 3 items on the list- replace 3 light bulbs in our entryway fixture, hang a 2 ft x 2 ft chalkboard, and install 8 knobs on a dresser. When they finished, the chalkboard was crooked and 2 of the 8 knobs were off center and crooked. I called the owner, who never returned my call. Terrible experience and I share it to hopefully save other people the frustration and expense I experienced with this company.

I found this company on Angies List and I purchased an Angies list coupon @ $75 for 2 hours labor. It was originally communicated to me that $75 would be removed from my final bill. There weren't many reviews for the company but I went ahead and agreed to have them perform work at my house. Initial phone correspondence was satisfactory/helpful and an appointment was scheduled. They arrived on time the morning of the appointment and I went over the desired job description with the job foreman. I expected the bathroom tiling to take 3 days (based on past experience) because I had already scheduled a return trip for our plumber so he could complete his work once tiling was complete. Once tile work began is when our expectations were not met. They made slow progress on completing the tile work and had to rush at the end of the 4th day to finish the work. This of course threw off scheduling with our plumber. They had to come back a different day to re-grout the floor tile because the first effort was totally unacceptable. The joint area where the shower tile meets the sheet rock was not leveled properly (which I specifically adressed prior to the work starting), therefore several areas in that region had "bulges" where the tile slightly protruded. We also noticed areas where grout in the shower was completely missing around the bathtub/shower border, but we chose to instead run caulk rather than ask for the handymen to come back. Because of the delays and poor workmanship I asked for the final price to be discounted by a couple hundred dollars and it still came to $1,425. Keep in mind I supplied all of the tile materials including hardi backer and water proofing paste so their price was only for labor. Even at the final price, I still feel like I overpaid by several hundred dollars. In summary, I did not approve of the number of total days/hours it took to complete a basic tile job, the quality was not what I expected and I had to overpay for this service. These guys may have performed good jobs for other customers, but unfortunately I did not experience Best Austin Handyman as they advertise. I would neither recommend them or use them again myself.

They went over the Big Deal cost. It seemed like he was working extremely slow. He was a nice guy.

The handyman for a day offer is a good deal. I will be honest the day did not go perfectly. A few understandable mistakes were made, but the office staff were incredibly responsive and the owner made sure that everything was taken care of perfectly and quickly. I really appreciated the experience. I will always use this company because of the fair and honest way that I was treated

They were very good. I hired them to do repair work and refurnish the deck. They were very courteous and helpful. They also did an assessment for us at no charge. As well, they follow through on everything they say they will do.

I would definitely hire again. I felt the pricing was more than fair for all the work he did. I felt the work was done well and he had good ideas for my house/ways to fix things. I'm sure I'll need more handyman work in the future and I would not hesitate to call this company. Very satisfied with the work and the handyman was very nice, too!

He was on time, was careful of my belongings, cleaned up and ensured I was satisfied. I would use again.

Charlie and jasper arrived on time and ready to work. They went to the hardware store for me and purchased all the supplies needed to complete the work. They were professional and courteous and completed all of the work. They were also patient and kind toward my 6 year old son and answered all of his seemingly endless questions!

I bought the Angies List "Big Deal" package, $75 for 2 hours of handyman service because I just bought a house a few months ago and I had a running list of minor problems with the house. The coupon was getting close to expiring so I called with the list. The handyman they sent, I can't remember his name now, was very friendly, polite, punctual, and professional. We took about 15 minutes walking through the inside and outside of the house discussing the things I wanted done. He realized he hadn't brought everything he needed to do the jobs- he went back and got a latter and some other tools and did not count the time he took to get them as part of my 2 hours which was nice. He wasn't able to do everything that I had on my list- the hole that I wanted patched in the wall under my kitchen sink would require removal of my counter tops and cabinetry, which was more effort than it is worth. He couldn't fix a loosely-fitting spout in my sink because of how it was originally installed (poorly with cheap materials). I wanted him to take my washer & dryer and swap places so their doors weren't opening into each other and rebalance them, but he recommended that they stay where they were based on where the dryer vent outlet was installed in my garage. Although he couldn't do the majority of the things I wanted him to do, I was still satisfied because he fixed things I didn't want to fix myself and took that d*** satellite dish down which probably would have killed me if I had done it. For the price it was a good deal, although after the fact I would recommend only buying that package deal with an expiration date on it if you have one or two tedious and time-consuming projects on your to do list. Their abilities to accommodate to their customer's needs is great and I would consider using their services again for a specific project after verifying it would be feasible/possible.

Due to rain, we had to change the job dates twice which was unavoidable. On each occasion both the handyman and the scheduler contacted me or responded to my call to cancel. When we scheduled a day that turned out to be nice and sunny, four people showed up to get the job completed quickly. They were very focused and on task. I had purchased a sprayer, originally thinking I would do the job. The handyman who started the project used the sprayer for a short time, but they ended up re-doing that section of the fence to get good coverage. I probably would not have noticed so very much appreciate their willingness to make sure the job was done well. The fence looks great. I got my money's worth.

He did an excellant job and was very careful. The shelf system looks beautiful!!!

Sean was very professional, arriving on time, being prepared and completing the tasks I had listed when we spoke to confirm day and time. He attached a flagpole holder to the stone on the side of my house, appraised the task of installing towel holders on bathroom tile, helped me drain and check an outdoor fountain, and patched a couple of wall divots. He reminded me that the work he did would be under warranty. Unfortunately, when the service called a few days later, to ask about my level of satisfaction, in addition to saying how pleased I was with the job, I had to report that the flagpole holder was pulled down by the wind. I have now spoken to Dan, and scheduled an appointment when someone will come to re-attach the flagpole holder. He was extremely nice about it!

It actually went very well. The project lead and hand/tile guy were great. dan, not so responsive to calls, and does not return calls in a timely manner but sure is quick on the draw to send invoice for payment.
