Best Austin Handyman & Remodeling

The very nice professional young man was on time, worked this job between others in order to let the railings dry and did an OUTSTANDING QUALITY JOB. His name was Derek Smith. I've had quite a few professional painters in the past, and I realize this was a small job in comparison and he was not a painter only, but I have to say he was the most skilled and professional person I've had. He also speaks very highly of his employer, which is not the norm these days. Many workers come here for various jobs and complain about their pay, their hours, their employers, which I don't appreciate. He actually told me this company could provide almost any similar service I might need for future needs, even the ones he does not do, so it wasn't a personal promotion for him. I require English spoken as I do not speak other languages and find it the only way to communicate appropriately. I do not have a race or ethnicity requirement, just my language, just so you know. Was very appreciative of that accommodation as well. And, yes, I will contact this company for future needs. A special kudos to the nice Derek Smith and the also nice man I scheduled with, Barrett (?) - first impressions are important.

They arrived right on time, worked in a timely fashion, and were great to deal with.

I hired these guys to do a simple task - hang overhead garage shelves. I have had this done before, and it was done in 30-45 mins max. It has been 3 hours and he is slowly starting on the 2nd one. I expect professional handymen to know what they are doing and do it efficiently and quickly and not slowly read the manual. I am going to send him off with the job incomplete because I am so frustrated.

John H. arrived promptly at the designated time, and very patiently listened to my list of 8-10 small household projects that I hoped he would accomplish in my 2 hours of purchased time. He accomplished each task efficiently and capably, and did not go on to the next task, until I was pleased with the result. An overall excellent experience, and I will definitely call on them again.

Provider refused to come to Leander to do the services I was charged for, but instead recommended remodeling or a refund from Angie's List. Provider should honor the deal instead of making it my problem. Little did they know I needed lot's of work done at my house.

My experience with Best Austin Handyman was great. I called the company before I bought the big deal to make sure I would be able to schedule the work before our planned move. Not a problem. Dan scheduled the work and told me the handyman would show up at 9:00AM. Mike was assigned and he gave us a call the day before to confirm the appointment and called again that morning when he was on his way. Very impressed! Mike worked hard but the work was more complicated as we initially thought so we had to schedule another day for him to come back to finish. Overwall the experience was great and the company is easy to work with. I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone who need handyman service.

It went well. Mike was my handyman, and arrived on-time and was appropriately ready to go. He worked steadily and got everything needed done in expeditious fashion. The work was professionally excuted and he was affable when approached with questions or concerns. He even had to exterminate some ants that were trying to nest between the shingles. He finished early and was eager to see if I had anything else for him to do. He was Not in a hurry to leave, which I kinda expected, ( I got the handyman for a day service) but instead wanted to make sure I got full use of his services. I appreciated his help and service. The people at the office who dispatched him, were very nice and were asking questions to insure I got the right guy for the job, and I did. Make sure and tell them about specifics you may have to do, so they can send the right person out for the job. It was a great experience for me, and I would not hesitate to recommend them. My service was 5 stars *****. Thanks.

They refused to drive the 20 minutes to Manor to perform the service. Nowhere on their website did they say they would not leave Austin for a job. Wasted several days for a job I really need to get done.

We will have the owner come out next week to give us an estimate. Initial appointment was missed due to a calendaring error, but the owner was very apologetic and vowed to make it right. I appreciate his professionalism and look forward to them coming out to give us an estimate.

Mike showed up on time, was consistently pleasant, focused and professional. I already had all the materials available but he moved them from my garage to the work site, including the sack of cement. He pointed out additional repair that would probably need to be done within the year but assured me that the fence will hold for now. He was gone by the time I came home from work so i inspected the job upon completion. The work was perfection and he had cleaned up the work site so that it was hard to tell work had even gone on. I will definitely consider requesting him again when the next project comes up.

I met him here, discussed what was to be done and how, then I went back to work. He called me when he finished. The work looks good to me.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was good. I went a couple of hours over. They were very friendly. They had to reschedule because they forgot about the date but they were really nice about it.

Mike did an excellent job. He discussed the job with us to make sure we were all clear on the work that needed to be done. He went to purchase the material he needed for the job, then proceeded to do the repairs promptly and professionally. He cleaned up the area after he was finished. The actual charge was very close to the estimate. I think the charges were very reasonable for the work that was done. I will definitely call them again.

We purchased a big deal for the service, and it turned out well. I asked if I wanted them to do it, and they gave me a quote or if I wanted someone else to do it.

To start off the response time was really great. Considering that we had a bit of an emergency (or at least I thought so) on our hands they sent us a repair man even when it was getting really late in the evening. Barrett was understanding of our situation and ensured us that he would get someone out to us quickly. Repair man Mike Terry had a really great attitude (even though he was pulling a double shift to get this done for us). Thanks Mike! Mike worked very quickly to troubleshoot and assess the damage and was able to stop the leak immediately by bypassing the affected plumbing. This was a huge relief considering that the Wife and I were expecting to have visitors from out of town staying with us the next evening (and throughout the weekend). Barrett was understanding of our house guest plans and worked with us to schedule follow up repairs so that we could still enjoy our weekend with our friends and family! Outstanding! Additionally, Mike noticed several things that were not up to code with the A/C and Water Heater (namely the water heater electrical wiring was not secured to the wall and the water heater drain pan didn't have a water sensor/alarm). He was very observant and noticed multiple other things around the house; like a leaky outdoor faucet (which he fixed) and a host of other concerns (such as some sidewalk and yard settling/shifting, etc. As scheduled (by my request), Mike Terry and Zach Johnson arrived on Monday to finish up plumbing installation, flooring removal/replacement, drywall installation, and various other tasks. These guys worked very quickly, had an excellent attitude, and were very professional. Job well done. I might go so far as to request these guys specifically for future jobs.

It was a large project. I'm mostly happy with the work. The cost ended up being 23% higher than the original estimate. Some of the work ended up taking much longer than originally planned. I do have one minor complaint/suggestion. There was so much drywall work done that the dust clogged up the air conditioner filter. The air conditioner blower motor burned out because of this and cost me an additional $600. This is something I'll keep in mind for the future, and it seems like something an experienced company should be mindful of.

We purchased a big deal for the service, and it turned out so so. He did his job and everything else like that. They stuck to their timing and worked the whole time but I would give them a lower grade in terms of the actual work that they did.

Derrick was my carpenter and he did a superb job. He works very quickly and his attention to detail is outstanding. The finished project is seamless. I plan to ask for him again when I schedule service to install crown moulding in my entire living area.

It turned out very good. He did a great job. He was on time. He did everything I asked, he was very helpful, it was a very good experience. I did pay more but it was because he stayed longer, I asked him to continue working. Everything went very well, no problems at all. I would use them again.

Mike did a great job of adding on to our existing patio and building a stone wall around it. Our yard is deeply slanted and the existing patio was at the highest point, so the add on ended up being 15" of concrete at one end. There was some miscommunication with Barrett, the owner, but he worked with us to make it the way we wanted it.

Haven't decided to go with him, but would definitely consider for good communications, knowledge of remodelling, and customer service.

It turned out fine. No problem. I didn't spend anything extra other than big deal. They are prompt, polite, professional, cleaned up after themselves, friendly. I would use them again in the future if there was a deal otherwise I can't afford them.

He was prompt, professional and courteous. He worked diligently in a very, very hot garage (it was over 100 degrees that day) and finished the work within the purchased time frame and cleaned up the job site afterwards. He even made several suggestions that would secure the shelving further and used his own material to do so. I will definitely use this service again.

The owner was very involved and easy to talk to about the progress. I had no issues other than the main handyman showing up a little later than expected.

They had the wrong time, wrong address, took about two weeks to get plan returned to me, it was only because they were contacted by me wondering where the plan was, that I got any response. The plan showed nothing that i couldn't do myself.
