Best Austin Handyman & Remodeling

He did okay nothing special, Not too happy with his work or so. Will not be using his company again. He did not have the proper tools. He was hired for 4 hours maybe work for 2 hours.

We purchased two separate angieslist deals for areas in need of repair. It did take a little longer than anticipated to get the job scheduled. However, our contractor showed up right on time got right to work. He was thoughtful of the best way to make repairs and worked hard to get everything just right. The deck and fence look great - we couldn't be happier with the work! We will definitely look to Best Austin Handyman for future projects.

I bought the Big Deal for 2hrs of Handyman service. Scheduling was easy. However, there was a lot of push back on what could be done within the 2hrs, I felt there was a strong push to upsell as well. On the day of the scheduled service, the handyman, Jaspel, came on time. He fixed the pull out drawer on a cabinet and cleaned out the dryer vent without much fuss. I would recommend them.

He showed up on time and was pleasant to work with! He took on every task from changing out lighting fixtures, hanging picture frames, installing cameras and more! Will be calling again for our next move!

Took care of items that had been on my to do list for longer than I would like to admit. Did a great job and I would not hesitate to use this service again.

I can't say enough good things about this company. They contacted me promptly. The handyman called me ahead of time so I could make sure I had the right supplies. He showed up and worked straight through for over 7 hours. I offered tea or coffee, but he never took a break. The work he did was perfect. I will definitely use this company again. I just hope all the people that work for them are as good as Mike.

The job they did was less then what I expected, it was some weather issues at the time it was too wet to do some caulking.

It appears that Best Austin Handyman is no longer in business. I called several times last week and all I received was a recording. I left 2 messages but no one responded. Last November they installed a window for me. Sunday 2.16.14 I noticed the glass was cracked. I suspected it was caused by settlement. I went to where I bought my window and was told that the window must be shimmed correctly to allow for settlement problems. I called BAH to ask them to come back and check that the window was installed correctly and if it was then I could have the glass replaced. If the window is not installed correctly then the glass would probably just break again. The installer could also be retrained. I would think BAH would like to know their workers can do the jobs they are assigned to. I have two other windows on that side of the house and they have not cracked. I was faced with trying to find someone else to check my window before I can have glass installed but John came back and installed the window. The old window was difficult to remove and the new one does seem to work better. This problem would have been solved months ago if home depot had done their job. I feel like the problem has been solved and hopefully there would be no additional problems but they should work on their customer service.

Charles called the day before to confirm the appointment; when he arrived, he was prompt, professional and personable. We walked the fence line together, and I showed him what I was wanting fixed and he pointed out a couple of things I had not noticed. He then walked it on his own to notate his findings and provide an estimate. Due to rot and instability, one of the posts in the gate had to be replaced - at a minimal flat fee - which after departing to purchase the materials (including concrete) he did. I had some extra pickets, which - at no extra cost - he used to replace the broken one's that were not incldued in my "deal". I was extremely satisfied with him and the work that he did, and would definately use this company again for other work.

It was great! did exactly what i asked. very professional and courteous. will use them again. i thought the price was great.

Mike Terry came at the scheduled time and went right to work. He was organized, focused and knowledgeable of his multiple trades. He cleaned up as he went, and finished every item on my list with a pleasant demeanor and respect. The rotted wood on the chimney cap was our highest concern because, except for Austins Best Handyman, all others had declined the job due to the height of the chimney and/or lack of their own insurance coverage for this purpose. The quality of the work was outstanding!

It went really well. They were very prompt. We were able to schedule an appointment within a week of purchasing the deal. The person who came out did a really good job and they answered all of my questions. When they sent me an estimate of the renovation, they answered all of those questions as well. We have not yet scheduled any work but we are probably going to use them.

I set up an appointment for 11/10/13. When the provider arrived, they realized that a different person should meet with me. They were going to followup and set up another appointment. That never happened.

They were able to do some easy stuff which was fine. I had a more complicated issue. The most valuable thing they did was find a referral for the more complicated work.

Great job. Handyman came prepared, but had to pick up an item due to unusual configuration of the product to be installed. He did that promptly; returned got to work and completed the job. Very pleasant and efficient.

I purchased a Big Deal coupon from them. It went fine. They worked hard and worked through the whole day. They were professional and did a good job. They did what they said they would do.

MIke was a big help as well as the owner. He came by and made sure all was well with the job. Get this, some of the wood on the railings of the porch was new treated wood, so we agreed I would pay the last 100 of the job when Mike came back after 6 months so the wood could age. Sure enough in Jan 2014, I texted Mike and he came out and finishe the railing for me and did a great job. such a nice guy to be around and very good at what he does...no mess no clean up after he left!

I was disappointed. Having been in the home improvement business myself, I never charged for a bid or a drawing of a project. I was however in this case willing to pay the $50 because I was supposed to get a consultation/drawing from an interior designer. The designer never showed up as promised and I never received a rendering, drawing or designer's suggestion of design ideas. The owner came out and was a nice fellow. He offered some opinions and suggestions and said he'd have a bid for us within a week. That week came and went. I called to inquire and he said he had had trouble getting measurements of our interior from the builder (?) To save him a trip and me some time, offered to take the necessary measurements and send them to him. A few days later I still had not received a bid or drawing so I called. The owner said he had sent it but I hadn't received it. A couple more days passed still no bid so I called again. Turned out he was sending it to the wrong email address which is (IMO) unacceptable since I had emailed him the measurements earlier. Once I received the bid, again no drawing, the bid did not fit the scope of work we discussed. I called and was told he sent the wrong one that he had several jobs going at once etc etc. I told him I was disappointed because I had paid for a designer consultation. He sent the appropriate offered to reduce the price of the job by $100 if I went with him. I explained It wasn't the $50 but the input of a designer I was willing to pay for. We had also inquired about having some work done to our back yard. He sent someone he described as a landscape designer out to look at our yard. I spoke with this person and we discussed what I wanted done. About a week and a half later, I got the bid. This one was on target as to the scope of work but again, no drawing. As I mentioned earlier, I have been in this business and never charged for a bid or a drawing of a potential project. In this case I was willing to pay for a professional designer's consultation but never received one. Therefore, I don't think I got any value for my $50. No big deal but I'll not be using these folks.

We purchased an Angie's list deal for a Handyman for a day. The work was done well; as per our arrangement, we painted the deck. I ended up painting the wall, but that was no fault of the handymen. Easy to deal with and timely. Will use again for handyman needs

Originally, I wanted my gate adjusted - I had a big space between the lock & gate that needed minimizing. I also wanted the lock reversed. However, that wasn't possible due to the lock I had. He had to buy another lock to install on the other side of the gate, and he couldn't close the gap as much as I'd have liked. He was very neat - cleaned up after himself and picked up his tools and cigarette butts.

Great! I would hire them again.

It went beautifully. It was a gift that I gave my son, he needs a new deck and he has the plans and he loves the plans. He hasn't done the deck as yet but he was very pleased with everything. The deal was that they would come out and draw the plans for you. Talk to you, measure it and draw the plans. So that was the work and it was done wonderfully. She was a sweetheart that came and they did a wonderful job so I was very, very pleased.

On time, polite & knew what he was doing. Did a good deal of work on my coupon time but did not finish. Came back and did the remaining work in a timely fashion. Billed me for materials and extra time - which was appropriate.
