Blackmon Mooring

After 4" of rain fell in a space of a few hours, our downstairs bedroom was flooded. The pool overflow drain had become clogged with mud and leaves had dammed the water up against the side of the house. We awoke to find our carpet soggy in the entire bedroom. Since the carpet was old we opted to just have it removed and later replaced it.

It was expensive, but they did a great job. It was comforting to know that everything was insured while they were storing it.

1/30/12 - 3 rooms, 2 hallways, and 26 steps were cleaned by Blackmon Mooring. 1/31/12 - I had the opportunity to inspect the cleaning done on the steps. I found the steps at the baseboard had black lines along the baseboard, with what appeared to be black drips down the steps. I called Blackmon Mooring to register my complaint. They said they would reclean the steps. (The carpets throughout the house were still damp. I was told they would be dry in 4-6 hours.) 2/1/12 - We started putting rooms back together. We found the living room furniture was put on blocks, but not all furniture had been moved and cleaned under. When we pushed one of the den couchs back, we discovered the traffic pattern was still there, indicating it had not been cleaned, plus there was a long black mark at the end and side of the couch. (Looked like accumulation of dirty water.) The upstairs' hallway also had the "black line" at the baseboard. The dining room was the only room done to my satisfaction. 2/2/12 - Blackmon Mooring returned to clean steps, which they did not do. Technician had an excuse for everything that was pointed out. The best one was that the black lines on the steps and baseboards were caused by the atmosphere in the home, such as burning candles (which we do not do), that usually goes into the return ducts! When I questioned why they didn't clean under the railing, I was told that they one have one size tool available. It won't fit under the railings, which he demonstrated to me. He claimed that the carpet in front of the den couch was cleaned, and when the couch was pushed back, something on the bottom of the couch caused the long back mark, even though that had never happened before when cleaned, and the couch was up on styrofoam blocks. He did admit that they did not move all the living room furniture. I told the technicians that I was not satisfied and that Blackmon Mooring will never be in my home again. It went perfect. They cleaned up a mess and they did a great job. They will come back and fix anything if needed and they give you their contact information.

The job cost a lot. They didn’t get the carpets cleaned as some other carpet cleaning that I have had in here. They were couple of areas that normally other carpet cleaners have been able to take care of, but they were not able to. It just didn’t seem that it was up to what I thought their standards were going to be. I don’t know if I would call them back again. The price was high, very expensive. They were good on punctuality, professionalism and responsiveness.

We spent $3200 on that service. Initially they were very prompt, but then we were hesitant to use them and file with insurance initially. We started to go ahead and go with the insurance and all that stuff and tried to get them back here, but they were on another job, so it was a bit of a scheduling to get them out here. Once they were here they were very professional, very detailed, and technical. They got everything all taken care of.

The estimator came in the morning and the cleanup crew began arriving in the afternoon. We left the house to them. There was no A/C on because we had replaced the system but were afraid to run it until the house was cleaned. Blackmon Mooring brought a post-construction cleanup crew that usually cleans homes after fires. They covered every single thing we own with plastic, ran a whole-house HEPA filter while they worked, vacuumed with a truck-mounted HEPA vacuum, vacuumed the ceilings and every flat surface in the house, and hand cleaned just about every surface in this 1800 square foot house. It took three people working three hours in 110 heat and then six people working six more hours into the night (they were at our home until 10 p.m.) to get it at a satisfactory cleanliness level. We were so impressed with their work. And we were very relieved that our housekeeper could do the rest of the small things in just one more day. These are the folks to call when you need a seriously dirty house cleaned after remodeling or, in our case, repair after a water disaster. You don't even have to tell them what you need, but they listen very intently and add services where they need to when you tell them about your needs. I would recommend them without hesitation, even though I pray I never need them again!

There was an error on the original schedule. We scheduled the service for Saturday morning, but the peron on the other end of the phone booked it for Monday without telling us. They arrived Monday 30 minutes early but did call to say they would be early. Other than the scheduling everything was great.

I set the appointment by telephone. The technician called a couple hours before my appointment to tell me they were running ahead of schedule and would it be okay if they came earlier. That was great, but I wasn't completely ready for them to arrive. I managed to get the smaller furniture moved and a light vacuuming done by the time they arrived. They were quick and efficient and I was pleased with their work. I have used them in the past and prefer them to Dalworth primarily because they don't use subcontractors. They always come in pairs and are done more quickly as a result. I like that they move the heavy furniture and don't just clean around things.

We were moving into a new house that had been vacant for a while. I had vacuumed the carpet several times, but it needed a good cleaning and I wanted it done before the furniture arrived. My normal cleaning service was booked so we called Blackmon Mooring. We were able to give us a quick appointment. We called 2 days before I wanted the cleaning. They arrived at the time they said they would. After looking thru the house the on-site quote was more expensive than the telephone quote. This was discussed and the price was lowered somewhat, but was still slightly higher than expected. They started the work and got done quickly. After and during the cleaning I was shown spots (stains really) that they were not able to clean. Most of these were small places that I probably would not have noticed, but was glad that they showed them to me.

They were very good and very thorough. I would recommend them. The workers were very professional and they didn’t waste any time. They just did the job and left.

They are excellent. I have no complaints.

They arrived on time, evaluated the job, and completed in 30 minutes. They were very nice guys.

The two gentlemen who came out to clean my carpets were very professional. They did a great job brushing up all the pet hair. I also had a person who came by to purchase my sofa and the guys helped me move the sofa out to the garage for easy pick up by the purchaser. I really appreciated that.

hey arrived on time, but their truck did not work. It was 15 degrees outside and I had to wait-with my door open after they did prep work - for over an hour for a replacement truck to come. The guy said they did little damage to the paint as they took the registers off, but I disagree.

They came everyday to check for the carpet to dry out. They came almost every day and checked on one thing or the other. When they reproved it, they did a good job of putting new padding and redoing the stretch in the carpet and get it back. They were ready to do the flooring, for which I ended up using my son in law. This is the restoration and they did a great job. They were very efficient, looked like very organized and had a checklist to go through. You could tell that they were trying what they were supposed to do. The carpet is good and everything went great. Only thing I can say is that, I never knew when they were going to come out. They would just say tomorrow and I knew they would be there. That was the only thing, which I say I couldn't plan for. I hope the need doesn’t arise, but if it does, I would use them in the future.

Came out, but has never given me a proposal.

I would not have the technician they sent out again even though I would hire the actual company again. He did a good job with the carpet cleaning but when I asked him to clean just clean the couch, he told me that he didn’t have the equipment available (which I don’t think is entirely truthful). He said he would come back the next day but did not return. We have used them before and the previous technician was great.

Overall cleaning was done with the intent to try to eradicate some stubborn stains on both carpets and rugs. Most of the stains came out, or at least were lightened, and the overall effect was clean and clean-feeling area again.

About 11:30 am I realized that my house was 'flooding' from the heavy rains. I worked on my own to address the water coming in, and called Blackmon Mooring in the early afternoon as it was apparent that professional help was needed. They told me that their crews were already busy with other homes/businesses affected by the rains, but that I would be 'put on the list'. The called me late that afternoon to say a crew would be at the house around 10:00 pm. The crew called beforehand, and arrived as expected. They were in uniform, pleasant but businesslike, and ready to go to work. They assessed the damage, and told me what they proposed to do (pull up flooring and baseboards, bring in fans and dehumidifiers). They left a little after midnight. I particularly appreciated their calm demeanor and professionalism knowing that they had been working all day and were very tired. Over the next several days, the account manager kept in touch with me, different Blackmon Mooring associates came to check on the drying out process, and eventually we decided to remove sheet rock and insulation where the drying was not progressing as it should. Throughout, all the teams were professional, friendly, and very understanding of the stress I was under with the damage, having to move out of part of my home, etc. There were times when the folks checking on the progress of the drying could have done a better job of keeping me informed as to when they would be coming by - just telling me morning, afternoon or evening would have helped my arrange my time better. I have used Blackmon Mooring for water damage before and highly recommend their service. It is expensive, but probably no more expensive than any other company of their quality and service level. It feels good to do business with them, in spite of the circumstances.

Two people came earlier than scheduled. Their office had called earlier to ask if they could send their people early because of some cancellations. Both the workers were polite and in their Co uniform. They went to work right away and were done in about two hours. They moved light furniture and sofas and informed me that they will work around heavy furniture like beds,TV and Stereo consoles writing desks etc. After the cleaning they sprayed the carpets with Scotch Guard. They had a broken broom for brushing the nap of the carpet and he wanted to come the next day to finish up with a replacement broom. Nevertheless, he wanted me to sign off on the job, which I refused. So he tried to repair the broom, but was unsuccessful. I took pity on him and repaired the broom for him so that he could finish the job.

They were able to be as clean and neat as possible with such a dirty job. They were not unreasonable price. They were professional and were able to get the job done in a day.

The advice was very helpful and directed me in the correct direction. They did not charge me anything for it. They were on time. They also clean out damps and that kind of thing. I will use them for that. I will definitely use them in the future.

The carpets looked great!! They didn't try and pressure me in to any extra fees like many of them do.

They called to come early and I was not available, so I sent someone else to meet them. They didn't show until after the original time. The cleaning job was decent, but not exceptional. The few stained areas were left looking the same, only sanitized. Overall, they did an okay job and were friendly enough. But there are too many other carpet cleaning companies to choose from, so I would likely go with someone else next time.
