+ -1 moreDue to the recent rains, my original date was rescheduled about two hours before their expected arrival. Not a big deal. I had prepared a list of yard-work items I wanted completed. However, I knew that it was unlikely that 8 manhours of work would be time enough to accomplish all the work. Three men arrived on Saturday morning. I walked them around the yard showing them the jobs. They were very industrious. I never was concerned for a minute that they were wasting time. I was especially impressed with their thorough clean up. They tied up all the tree branches in small bundles for the trashmen. They even swept my front porch. I was very satisfied with their work. However, there's still a lot more to be done. So I will likely be going back to them in the very near future.
Description of Work: Cleaned out a lot of the weeds and dead plants, and heavily trimmed two small trees.

+ -1 moreI met with Ricardo Baldi and requested an estimate for a root barrier installation. At that time I asked if I could apply a n Angies List Coupon for 8 hours of landscape services for $299 and he said that I could. When his estimate arrived, it made no mention of the Angies list coupon. I contacted Mr. Baldi again and asked him to include the coupon in his estimate. Since the coupon offered "8 hours of landscape services for $299 (a $425 value)", I expected his estimate to reduced by $126. The revised estimate was identical to the original and but included the proviso that I could use the coupon to pay $299 toward the $618 estimate along with payment of $319. When I next contacted Mr. Baldi, he stated that since the root barrier installation was to be done by a different (projects) department, the coupon value of $425 was not valid. He also said that the coupon could not be used on a current job. My opinion is that it is not a current job until the customer has agreed to contract for the job. I feel that Mr. Baldi's actions amounted to a 'deceptive trade practice'. since the difference in departments was never brought up during our initial discussions.
Description of Work: Provided an estimate for root barrier installation and refused to acknowledge the Angies list coupon" value" for payment for the estimated services.

+ 0 moreI purchased 8 hours of landscaping in a Great Deal last spring; however, due to various issues, I was unable to have Baldi's out to do the work before the summer heat kicked in. They said it would be no problem to wait until fall. I called and thy were able to schedule me fairly quickly. They were able to come out earlier than planned that day and got to work. They planted some shrubs, transplanted some, dug up an overgrown, half-dead one, and trimmed up and cleaned up two beds. Everything looked great when they left!

+ 4 moreIt went great. My wife and I could not be more pleased with our choice to use Baldi Gardens. Our expectations for work quality, communications, and professionalism were exceeded. They accommodated all our.needs and changes as the contsstruction in a very timely manner. Response time to calls or emails was a 10. Baldi Gardens are true pros and I would highly reccomend them to anyone. We will use them for other services in the future, definitely.
Description of Work: Extended and covered our patio and laid Oklahoma slated, moved sprinklers as necessary and hung ceiling fans. Additionally they added lighting and a number of electrical outlets to add to the functionality of the patio.

+ 1 moreI wanted some landscape lighting done around our recently renovated Koi Pond. They called and scheduled their lighting specialist to come and give me an estimate. They arrived promptly on time, took pictures of the area and went back to the shop to do some designs which they then sent me with an estimate. We agreed on the price and scheduled and install. Again, they arrive when they agreed, and were able to complete the work in a few hours. There were some startup issues with the lighting, and they vendor return a few time until all of the issues were taken care of, all at no extra cost. Extremely pleased with the service and results!
Description of Work: Installed 10 led landscape lights with transformer and timer in our back yard Koi Pond area.

+ 1 moreProvider did not do the back yard on first visit because dogs were out. I called to discuss rescheduling to have the back yard done, the service was delayed because the company was having equipment issues. But the real issue was that it took two more phone calls to get the service rescheduled. Then for the next visit, I asked them specifically to make sure I received an advance phone call so I would know they were coming and could keep the dogs in; they sent an email but did not call. I will say that when I finally met one of the technicians, I found him to be very knowledgeable, helpful and courteous -- I just hope they can work out the bugs in the front office.

+ 0 moreInitial call back took a few days, but they were very nice. They came out, evaluated the yard and gave us some options. They had scheduled us out for the installation a few weeks out but called when they had an opening so we had the work done almost 2 weeks earlier than anticipated. The yard looks good other than some weed issues (which this yard has always had), but they did came back out and put some poison down for us.
Description of Work: Paved backyard with decomposed granite including removal, regrading, installation and cleanup.

Description of Work: I bought a Big Deal. It took longer than the allowed amount of time that they said to schedule the appointment. My husband and I called to set it up within minutes of each other from different places not knowing that the other was doing it. They set up the appointment for yesterday with a time window of 1-3. When I called, the man told me he had just set the appointment with my husband and confirmed the same time, yesterday from 1-3. When they didn't show yesterday my husband said he had the most "amateurish" phone call with a woman. She acted like she didn't know what she was doing, and when my husband asked her to hold so he could run some things by me via text, he could hear her talking to someone in the background saying "what should I do--what should I tell them." They couldn't find our appointment for a long time, and when they did they said it was next Friday, even though we had the time and date confirmed twice. They said they couldn't reschedule when we wanted. We are trying to sell our house, and there date would have been either when we were out of town or after we put it on the market. I am currently trying to get our money back from Angie's List.

+ 0 moreOverall the deal for mulch was a great value and the crew did a good job of spreading it. Lilly was very good with communications and helped me set everything up while I was out of town. The only issue was that after the visit, half of the area in the backyard was missed and there were several bags of mulch stacked around the side of the house. Turns out one of the crew ran into some bees and they had to go home early! I can understand, but they never mentioned this to the office staff and it took a few phone calls to figure out what happened. They came back a week or two later and finished the job.
Description of Work: A crew delivered mulch in bags to our home and spread the mulch across the needed areas. About 3 cubic yards total.

+ 1 moreFine! They sent a two man team, both of whom were extremely polite and worked really hard the entire time. I went over what my goals were and even though it was a big job, they went above and beyond what I expected them to accomplish during the set time. I was a little disappointed that they were unable to dig up the roots/etc. of the brush that was removed, but this had nothing to do with the work team involved. When you get the yard cleanup deal, I found out after the fact it does not include work that requires heavy machinery (like that required for digging up/grinding shrub/tree roots). I would also warn future purchasers that unless you specify, the team will probably haul away whatever trash you have left from the job (no complaints on that) and you will get a bill for the disposal fee. It wasn't a big deal, but maybe worth mentioning for future buyers since I forgot to tell the guys it was ok to leave the trimmings on the parkway, but in the end, it worked out better anyways and it was nice to not have a big pile of trash sitting in front of our house waiting for trash day. :)

Checked on when the next treatment was due because of a month of rain and was pleased to receive an email advising that they would include an additional treatment at no additional cost. So far customer service is great; not their fault it's rained every day in May.

+ 0 moreWe started using Baldi in 2012 for mowing. 1st year (with Angie's list coupon) was affordable. Next year they raised the rates almost double, so we dropped them for mowing. In 2013 we used them for lawn aeration, which went fine. Also signed up for annual lawn maintenance (fertilization, pests, aeration, etc). 1st year went OK. 2014 renewal was a hassle but finally happened. I made the mistake of paying for the year in advance. Early in 2015 we received a letter from Bald that they're technician may or may not have been performing service on the lawn the last year. They let the tech go but couldn't tell me if my lawn was affected. So, when I had a tree issue diagnosed I asked about the lawn and found out I have scales in the front yard. This tells me service was not performed. They're office staff was unable to provide any satisfaction, and the promised call from the owner to discuss never happened. I cancelled service before the next (and last) service was to be performed. But no refund, which is why paying in advance was a mistake. I won't use Baldi again, and I encourage you to choose someone else for your lawn needs.

Considering the conditions we've dealing with all of this Texas rain, he's managed to keep his sense of humor. Rafa came and did the work which took also a day. He did a great job.... VERY hard working! He was very friendly and willing to answer all of my questions. I do believe it's people that enrich our lives and make our experiences more fulfilling. We needed help with poor drainage in our yard and Baldi Gardens saved the day and left quite an impression on my husband and I. Living in a big city, it's not easy to find reliable, good service at an affordable price. Excellent communication setting up estimation and repair date, everything was done as expected, and I will recommend Baldi Gardens to anyone who has landscaping needs. They worked so incredibly fast, that I ran out of things for them to do with 45 minutes to spare! Extremely professional, while still be very friendly, they even trimmed some stuff for my neighbor! They took all the trimmings to the curb for me - where it was picked up by my local trash services. Super hard working team!!! Thank you so much Will & Santana; and Baldi Gardens!

They were organized, did exactly what was asked of them and went above and beyond to and beyond to trim some very large bushes! They did a wonderful job moving 5 mature yaupon shrubs to a new location. I have two other areas of the garden that need some work and I will definitely hire them again! I was very impressed!

+ 1 moreI was amazed at what Will and Alejandro accomplished. They trimmed my holly bushes, cut down lots of overgrown weeds and volunteer trees in my large back yard. They also cut up the huge fallen tree limbs and moved all the cuttings to the front of the house for pickup.
Description of Work: I bought a deal with Baldi Gardens a month ago. They were pretty booked up and I scheduled about 2 weeks out from the date I talked to them. I had planned for them to cut down overgrow grass, shrubs and generally tidy up my yard. Last Sunday during the storms I had half a tree blow down into my yard. When they came this morning, I basically told them to do as much as the two of them could get done in the 4 hours that I had paid for.
