I couldn't be happier with the results of this deal I bought back in Oct 13. Baldi sent emails prior to each treatment, including updates when they had to reschedule due to weather, and the lawn looks great. Everything went so smoothly I just purchased a deal for another 3 treatments.

All contact was professional and courteous. Baldi was here twice. First, they performed the lawn weed and feed treatment, then returned a few days later for the aeration. I'm kind of a hard customer in the sense that I'd like someone to explain how exactly everything works. The guy talked to me a little bit Baldi Gardens if I'm home. It was a one time thing so I don't expect a long-term relationship. I had a couple of small complaints. The guy who did the irrigation, he saw my gate and visually looked at it, it was like, your gate is too narrow so I'm sorry but we can't go through gates that are more narrow than 40 inches and he even tried to open my gate, I had a little tree brush in front of it but he didn't even try doing that so he's almost ready to do to the front yard and just leave. I didn't like that but I was there but if I had not been home, he would have not irrigated my backyard. It's a complaint but it didn't really affect the service. Maybe I will use them again. I will shop around first because I like someone to talk to me.

It turned out fine. We were satisfied with it. They followed up with a phone call. We were happy. We will probably use them in the future. They were prompt and called before they came out. They followed up to make sure that we were satisfied. They have good customer service. I thought the price was very reasonable.

Our most sincere apologies to this customer. The Big Deal she purchased did include in the terms that gates needed to be a minimum of 40" for our machine to fit through. We've found, after doing several of these Big Deals, that customers infrequently read through all the "fine print". We are working on purchasing a smaller aeration machine so that this won't be a problem in the future.
I will start by saying that the services were scheduled promptly and completed when they were scheduled. I purchased a special for Lawn aeration with weed and fertilization. The aeration portion of the service went well, but the fertilizer portion did not go as I had hoped it might. There was a miscommunication in what type of weed treatment was going to be applied to my lawn. Because it took place at the beginning of April, I had multiple weeds that were in full bloom, and I expected a broad leaf application to kill the weeds that were in my yard. 1-1/2 weeks after the application, I did not notice my weeds dying or even beginning to wither, so I contacted Baldi Gardens to ask what type of weed treatement they had used. I then learned that it was a pre-emergent which will help prevent existing weeds from germinating, but would not have a noticeable affect on the existing weeds. I was frustrated, but with myself as much as with myself for not confirming the treatment prior to purchasing as I was with Baldi Gardens. (As an aside, I have had a smaller company fertilizing for me for the last several years. Within the last 2 years, my previous provider has missed treatments, and my lawn has suffered because of this. I was taking this opportunity to try to find a new company to take care of my fertilizing needs). I wrote back to Baldi Gardens and told them that it was not clear what type of weed treatement that they would be doing. Typically, I look at these special offers as a way of getting to know a company before I do anything long term. Consequently I was expecting something that would have an immediate impact on my yard, not something that I would have to wait a few months to see if it worked. I told them that this was their chance to impress me, and I was not impressed. I was told by Baldi Gardens that their customers typically sign a multiple year contract and that I was not the right type of customer for them. They also told me that I could not rely upon 1 or 2 heavily discounted treatements per year to solve my problems. I had used the same company for the last several years and have been loyal to that company to the detriment of my lawn. I informed Baldi Gardens that the heavily discounted treatment was their opportunity to impress me and win me over. They absolutely did not. Had I been happy with the service, I would most likely have started using them on a regular basis. Because of the rude way that I was treated, I will not be using Baldi Gardens in the future. I shoulder some of the blame for not knowing exactly what the treatment was going to be, but the attitude of this company is not acceptable to me. I truly love Angie's list. It has put me in touch with great contractors. I have found a carpet company, roofer and a garage door repair company through Angie's list. I have always been able to write glowing reports prior to this one. I will not use Baldi Gardens in the future. I understand misunderstandings, and I can overlook imperfect quality, but I cannot overlook poor customer service.

Well I never could really tell if the spraying had been done.No flag was hung as said. I Was not notified prior to it happening so my dogs could have gotten poisoned for all I know. The owner says they were sending emails but I didnt have any including spam/junk. Was supposed to tell me the time they had done the service but never did. I did see the holes in the ground so that was accomplished. they also blamed Angies list for causing problems in communication. F because simply put my kids or animal could have gone outside and gotten very sick or worse. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I actually was able to go back and confirm that we received no angies list messages that said anything about service date. Also because I didnt know the date and dont normally go out and roam my yard how would I know it was wet? Furthermore my last messages requesting how long it takes for the treatment to dry and what product was used went unanswered..so they are correct in stating that I didnt know what product was used though it is because they did not respond via the message center. I have had no issues with the message center with any other providers and am sure if there were issues, the site would resolve them. Lastly....WEEDS WERE GROWING LESS THEN 2 WEEKS LATER!

This customer did not provide a phone number to Angie's List or to us, nor did he return to the Message Center to check for messages from us. I have an email sent to him on 4/23 to notify him that we were coming out the next day. This customer is making accusations without knowing what was done or what product was used. Unfortunately Angie's List does REQUIRE us to communicate with customers through the Message Center which has been problematic for ourselves and our customers on numerous occasions. If the lawn was dry when pets and people went out on it (I'm guessing he would have noticed if it had been wet knowing that he hadn't watered in the middle of the day) then the treatment was safe to walk on. Our apologies to this customer for his frustration and his experience. I would recommend that if you want a service provider to call you to let you know when they are coming to do your service you should supply them with a phone number to do so. Emails sometimes go into junk/spam folders or are lost in cyberspace completely.

I scheduled an appointment with Carlo Baldi for yesterday at 5 pm. I received a call from their office confirming my appointment early in the day. 5 pm came and went with no word. I tried several times to call Carlo. When I finally got through at 5:45 pm, he checked is schedule and noted that we were on it. He just forgot. Fail. I will not use a company that can't remember to come to appointments that they made and confirmed. If they can't handle the most basic thing, why would I trust them with an expensive job.

9/2/13 Purchased Service 9/5/13 Received message that the weather was still too hot and they would contact me in October 11/4/13 Since I never heard anything from them, I contacted them to no avail 2/20/14 Contacted them again that I had never received service and would give them one more chance to preserve their ratings, They said they would look into it. 4/21/14 Once again they did not follow up. Requested a refund which I doubt I will ever receive.

This customer claims that we never followed up with him which is just not true. He and I have exchanged several messages through the Angie's List Message Center, which I'm sure Angie's List can attest to. This customer contacted me more than 6 months after purchasing the Big Deal to tell me it had never been done. I replied that our time records and GPS records told a different story. His service was done on 10/19/2013 and I did have records of email exchanges between the two of us showing that on 10/17 I sent him an email stating that service would be done on the 19th. Why now, 6 months later, is he contacting me saying it was never done? Why not in October, November or December? This customer requested a refund from Angie's List for a service that has already been done. He contacted me through the Message Center threatening me with a horrible review if I didn't give him a refund myself. I explained to him that I wasn't intimidated and that he was welcome to write a review to his liking. Our company has over 400 reviews on Angie's List. Unfortunately we can't please everyone, even when we try our best, but I think it's easy to see that we do pretty well. Our A's and B's account for over 90% of our reviews, that's nearly 380 glowing reviews. We do have some C's, D's and even F's (although most of those F's were from customers we never did any work for) but those are very few and far between. We haven't won 30 Super Service Awards since 2005 by acting in the manner this customer is accusing us of.

I will not write a novel here but plan and simple...the scheduling took forever (don't remember the actual date) and I had to contact them to finally get noticed after purchasing the deal on Angie's List. The scheduler for Bali finally contacted me via email, very impersonal, no phone call...I discovered immediately they were too busy for me. I later requested other services and they came out but attempted to over charge me for other landscaping services. Response time is poor and services are over the top. The Angie's List Deals appear to be a sly way of baiting and switching to more expensive services. I'm sure they will agree to disagree on that last comment but its true. Clever marketing at its best...

Our apologies to this customer for his frustrations with our scheduling. As per our agreement with Angie's List we answer every message in their Message Center within 2 days of receipt. Angie's List always lets us know if there are any unanswered messages (a message is sent on behalf of the customer when they purchase a Big Deal from Angie's List). Unfortunately many customers never return to the Message Center to check for messages. We generally sell anywhere from 50-100 Big Deal promotions and it would be impossible for us to call every single one, we do communicate by email. Not to be impersonal but to make sure we make contact with each and every customer as quickly as possible. I will agree that we are one of the most expensive companies in our area and we do charge a premium for our services (we generally have a 4-8 week backlog, a waiting list of customers waiting to work with us). Our apologies to this customer if he thought we were trying to "overcharge" him, those are our regular prices and our prices are non-negotiable. As far as his last comment I will only say this, we do not use the Big Deals as a "sly" way of getting our foot in the door with customers. This customer knows, just like our other Big Deal customers, that our technicians do not try to sell services to customers when they come to perform the Big Deal services and the customers NEVER receive follow up phone calls or emails soliciting more business. We do work with some customers after they've purchased a Big Deal but we leave it to the customer to contact us if they have any other landscape work that we might be able to help them with. Of all the Big Deal customers we've ever had you wil not find one who will say that we ever tried to sell them anything after their Big Deal services were done, we don't even try. We've done other work for at most 1% of our Big Deal customers in the last 2 years. I can say without hesitation that this customer is definitely not the right fit for us and we are obviously not the right fit for him but there are customers out there who value our service (which is why 90% of our 415 reviews are A's and B's) and will pay a premium to work with us and have their services done right.

As per our "fine print" on all our Big Deal promotions (which we're finding people ARE NOT reading) services will be routed by us in the most efficient manner for us. Customers such as this one purchase services at heavily discounted rates then expect us to come exactly when it's best for them. We have found that to be impossible when we sell 70+ Big Deals at a time. Our records indicate that our technician was at this customer's home on 4/4 from 11:46 to 12:00. That has also been verified by GPS units on all our trucks. Customers do not seem to realize that these lawn treatments are made VERY quickly, in this case in less tham 15 minutes. It's possible this customer missed us. We do occasionally have to postpone or reschedule services due to truck/equipment issues, weather or other issues. In those cases our technicians ALWAYS call any customers who will not get serviced for whatever reasons to let them know and to tell them to expect an email regarding rescheduling. If this customer did not receive a call it was because her service was done. With over 400 reviews and 30 Super Service Awards since 2005 our company did not get our reputation on Angie's List by not performing services our customers pay for.

Not a single on of our technicians have EVER left a note on someone's door so I'm not sure what this customer is thinking. Every customer who purchases a Big Deal from our company first receives a message in the Angie's List Message Center followed by numerous emails from me regarding scheduling. It's possible that this customer never went back to check the message center and never responded to my emails (which possibly ended up in her spam or junk folder). If the back gate was unlocked then both the front and back were done.Furthermore, this customer NEVER contacted our office with these concerns or made any effort (until her review) to let us know there was a problem or miscommunication.

Instead of contacting me to schedule an appointment, they just scheduled one themselves. When I called to let them know that time was not convenient with me, they said that was not their problem. I let them know I wanted to be home so I could watch my pets while they were there and they said who cares and told me to call Angie's List to get a refund.

This customer contacted us as soon as she made a Big Deal purchase through Angie's List wanting service to be done IMMEDIATELY. We typically wait until the Big Deal promotion has ended to schedule service (to make it more efficient for us) but we made an exception and scheduled her. On the day we were to perform service this customer cancelled because something came up. We did reschedule later and I understand that the time for her was not perfect but as per our "fine print" on our Big Deal promotions, the customer does not need to be home for service to be done and we will route service in the most efficient way for us. It is impossible to sell 70 aerations and be able to perform them all on days and times that are convenient for our customers. Furthermore, no one on my staff EVER told this customer that it was not our problem or that we didn't care. I explained the situation myself to this customer, apologized for any inconvenience, and told her that she could contact Angie's List for a refund if she did not want to proceed on our schedule. Her service was done on 3/25 long before ANY other customer who purchased the same Big Deal.
