It was okay. He left with the mess but he did the job. We can live with the mess. We paid the ticket on Angie's List plus $1000. They damaged the outside of the house. They were polite and they knew what they're doing. They were prompt. They went through the brick and they didn't cover it back up. We had to do that.
Description of Work: I purchased a "Big Deal" for Clements Electric. They replaced the panel box and breaker switches. They also had to replace something on the roof.

Contractor walked away from the job. Was upset because concierge would not let him bring a ladder through the lobby. Contractor told me "I don't go to the backdoor for anybody". I don't know the substance or tone of the conversation with the concierge & the contractor; contractor refused to elaborate. I wasted several hours of my time deferring appointments and waiting and then have him walk out. He may have a good reason for being upset, but acting in a non-professional manner towards me was unacceptable. If he doesn't want to work in high rises, he should not have accepted the job. When I lived in a detached house, I didn't permit contractors to traipse through my living room either. I had selected this contractor based on the superb writeup in the June 2015 Angie's List newsletter. Based on my experience, Clements Electric is underserving of your rating.
Description of Work: Was hired to replace can ceiling lights with LED's, upgrade fluorescent lights and install under-cabinet LED lights. Did not start the job.

Alright. Had an appt scheduled for Sat. he called and asked to reschedule for Sunday. I obliged because I didn't want a service guy out here p***** because he had to take the drive. I don't know what my luck is with these guys. He still seemed irritated he had to come. He keep making recommendations about what may be issue like he wanted me to do the work. But I'm not an electrician and am uncomfortable with doing it, that's why I call professionals. Fan was fixed and no smoke alarms are beeping anymore. So if you want work done, call them. But don't expect them to like it. It's just the vibe that I got. Anyway.

This review is for Clements Electric. Horrible service! I'd rate them an F- if that choice was an option I was so shocked because I'd used this company only a few months ago and everything was perfect from beginning to end, so I never saw this coming. This time, the only good thing I have to say about them is in regards to the friendly & helpful agent who scheduled my appointment. Everything else was a giant failure. No one showed up at all for the scheduled appointment, no one called to let me know if there was any kind of problem with the appointment, and no one responded whatsoever to any of the four messages requesting a call back which were left by myself and my by husband. I will be calling Angie's List today for a refund of the money I paid up front for the service and to choose a reliable company to come to our home to do the work.. I will never use this company again. Going forward I'll be sure to read current reviews and not assume that because they provided great service in the past., that their quality would remain unchanged. I don't know what decisions may have been made to change the previous level of service, but they are an epic mistake. Hopefully, they will be recognized and corrected before this company loses more repeat customers like us who are evidently no longer a priority to them. In response to reply: Thank you for your reply, however, I did originally call your office and I spoke with one of your agents immediately at the time of purchase. At that time, she set up the appointment for me. I'm not sure what happened, but obviously someone dropped the ball because 2 days after I'd left a message on the voice mail to cancel the appointment because no one showed up, another agent called me to schedule the appointment. Not that it matters, but it didn't seem to matter when I told her I'd cancelled because no one showed up. All that was said was a cheerful "Okay, thank you, bye". A good customer service agent would've at least made the smallest of apologies because I was stood up, so her response even further reinforced my impression that my business wasn't important one way or the other. I appreciate your reply to explain how busy you are, but in this case, Angie's List isn't to blame, as I did reach out to your company to schedule my appointment.as you advised in your previous reply. I will say the service you provided in August 2015 was excellent and I was impressed and satisfied with the level of quality. Unfortunately, this experience ruined it. Hopefully in the future you can identify the issues which are causing you to get unfavorable reviews, as I noticed there were others similar to mine. The level of customer service can make or break a company, no matter how good everything else may be. I hope you get things straightened out before you lose more customers.

It went very well. I appreciated his professionalism and efficiency. This was a pretty big service and took all day, but he was very pleasant and cleaned up once the work was performed. This was a big deal to me, the mess was substantial and I didn't have to clean up anything. I even rescheduled the work for a week on short notice with no trouble. I really cannot say enough about how well this went because it was an effortless process for me, which is what I wanted. As much as this service cost, I was very aware that his cost was substantially lower than most other companies. I always believe in being perfectly honest as well. My only suggestion to Mr. Clements is that he work on his cutting skills. My home is very old and the drywall is very thick. There are a few chunks of drywall missing around the new electrical box, but I say this with a smile. The box is in my garage and I could care less what it cosmetically looks like, but I know others may think this is important. It's solid and it works very well - that's all matters to me.

I CALLED CLEMENTS AND TOLD THEM I HAD A LOT TO BE DONE. ACCENT LIGHTS A SWITCH MOVED / ADDED AND A ATTIC SWITCH AND A BIG OUTLET BOX BY THE ARBOR . BUT JEFF THE ELECTRICIAN SAID HE DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO DO IT WHEN HE GOT HERE. HE WAS HERE FOR ROUGHLY AN HOUR AND THAT'S IT. I USED THE PROMO FROM ANGIES LIST FOR THE DISCOUNT. BUT WHEN HE WAS DONE HE SAID HE COULD COME ON SATURDAY TO DO THE REST OF THE WORK FOR OVER 800.00 DOLLARS. WOW!! SO WHEN HE LEFT I CALLED ANOTHER ELECTRICIAN WHO DID ALL OF THE WORK PLUS SOME FOR NEARLY 1/2 THE PRICE. GO FIGURE. WE NOT USE THEM AGAIN.

We bought a 2 hour labor deal and had them come out to do our work. When they got here to see what we wanted done they said they would have to reschedule because they didn't have all the parts they needed. They also told me for what I wanted done it would take longer than the 2 hours that I bought on the special. I said OK since I really didn't know how long it would take them to do the work. They ended up coming out a week later but it was a different guy and he knew nothing about the job and what needed to be done. So he had to look at everything and then had to go to Home Depot to get parts. He was gone about a half hour and then the job only took a little over an hour. So needless to say I wasn't very happy with getting charged an extra $200.00 when the job actually took less time (including his trip to Home Depot) than what I paid for on the deal. The quality of the job was good but the communication and getting charged an extra $200.00 was very frustrating.

Deal was $99 for $200 worth of electrical services. Did not mention in the deal that the fee for coming to our home was $60 which was part of the $200 worth of services, so in fact only had $140 remaining. Electrician was at our house for less than an hour, and only got a few basic things done - was not worth the deal, so would be careful when making this purchase if you expect to be able to get a good amount of service completed.

It went fine but I don't think we got our money's worth. The coupon was for $200 worth of work and we did not get that. The electrician was in the home for much less than an hour and there were no parts required for the work. When we asked about getting a GFCI outlet installed in place of the closet light install, we were told that the coupon had been fulfilled with work already completed.
Description of Work: They were supposed to install a closet light but they stated that their was too much poor to that area and so just capped the power cord. they also installed a ceiling light.

I wish I could give them straight A's, because in the end, the service and price were good, BUT - The first repairman that came out did not repair all of the issues and even worse, he tried to sell us light fixture covers that we "needed" in the entire house at a cost of about 3K. He had my husband go to a home improvement store and buy several items that either were not needed or were out-right wrong. He then proceeded to miss two Saturday appointments in a row wasting several hours of our time. I could go on. After a few phone calls an a handful of weeks, Clements sent a good, reliable repairman out that did a great job. He did inform us that the first repairman was fired. If we had had the second repairman first, they would have had all A's.

It went great. They had a coupon on Angie's list we purchased, they were able to schedule us the day after we purchased it and everything went smoothly. We are very happy with the product and how we were treated. Also using the coupon saved a lot off what we thought it would cost.

I don't think it went very well. They did find what the problem was. But, we paid $100. They came out and they just told us what the problem was. We had to get another part. But, they didn't offer to come back and install it or verify the issue. So, I thought that that was pretty bad service. They weren't very responsive. They were on time.

Quickly and simply put in whole-house surge protector; made recommendation for LED light fixtures which we LOVE because they look great, use less electricity, work well with dimmers, brighten the kitchen immensely over previous recessed lights with CFLs, and we no longer hear that incessant buzzing!

The electrician who came out was professional and personable, but he made it clear he was being overworked and that he would have normally charged me overtime to work on a Saturday at all, and so he wouldn't stay to finish the job unless I paid for OT work. I would have rather scheduled the appointment for a weekday and gotten my problem completely solved than have half the work done and have to try again later. My other issue was the scheduling department - whomever I was speaking to on the phone was not very professional. I understand I'm scheduling you at a reduced profit margin, but I'm still a customer, and you have no idea what my actual needs are. Turns out that I needed 4 more hours of labor beyond what I paid for, and my experience did not encourage repeat business. Also, my originally scheduled date was cancelled due to rains flooding a company truck the night before. I understand that things happen, but heavy rain shouldn't disable your workforce. I had my problem ultimately solved by a different company that came personally recommended. They also got other work that presented itself.

I called to schedule service over a month ago and left a voicemail. The receptionist called me back the next day to schedule and a day and time was selected, confirmed, and scheduled. I added the appointment to my calendar immediately following the phone call. The receptionist apparently scheduled the service call on the day after the day that was discussed. As a result the tech did not show up on the day I was available. I called the tech and was told that they would have to reschedule and my information would be sent to dispatch and I could expect a call in 24 hrs. I did not receive a call back. I called the office several times and only reached the answering machine. My calls were not returned. I then called the tech and was told again that my info would be sent to dispatch and I would receive a call back. Again, I did not receive a call back or call backs from the messages I have left. I am very disappointed in the lack of service, especially since I had a great experience with Clements Electric previously.
Description of Work: The provider failed failed to show up on the scheduled day. Also, the provided has failed to answer the phone, return voicemails, and reschedule the original service request.

Jeff called a few minutes before agreed upon time window and reported that he had a flat tire and would be late. We said okay. He arrived about three hours later and was very distracted about the tire. Tire wasn't fixed, it had just been inflated with Fix-a-Flat. He asked if we had a ladder so that he would not need to get one from the truck. I got one out and set it up. Before he started Jeff, told us that hanging the fan would use all of our $200 worth of service. We expected higher cost than some published costs to hang fan but not $200. He did a great job of assembling and hanging the fan while making calls about the tire but when he went to start fan, it didn't work. He read instructions and tried several times and then called customer service -- it was decided after about 15 minutes that the receiver for the fan, the only way to start the fan, was defective. We offered to quickly get another fan and he didn't have the time to wait. We offered to go with him to tire store so that he wouldn't have to wait there and could come back and help us while tire was being fixed and he declined. He declined our offer to inflate the tire. He didn't have time stay and fix the outlets even if we paid more. He just wanted to move on to his other jobs which was his attitude from the time that he arrived until he left. Jeff did take the fan back down (one lead was cut) and left the old fan, new fan, scraps and ladder in middle of living room floor. No one could have anticipated that fan would be defective and I admit that this contributed to our disappointing experience. However the electrician wasn't professional in the way that he handled his client interaction and this is why we will not be a repeat customer and have graded the work as we have.
Description of Work: We purchased a "deal" for $200 worth of electric services from Clements. We told them that we needed them to hang a ceiling fan and to fix some outlets. Ceiling fan was hung and utilized complete value of our deal. Jeff didn't have time to fix the outlets even if we paid for the added work.

After installing the surge protector, I was given a paper with warranty terms on it. I looked on the back and found installation instructions. I noticed the person didn't install the device as described in the instructions. I'm not an electrician or an electrical engineer so I can't say whether or not the way he installed it is acceptable, but I do wonder how it might effect the warranty.

It went horrible, don't waste your time scheduling an appointment because they won't show up or call to reschedule and give you the courtesy of letting you know they have more important things to do then make their appointments with customers.
Description of Work: -F grade for them. I bought big deal for $99 and am so disappointed. I made appointment & no one ever showed up, or called to say they couldn't make it. I took the afternoon off to meet these losers at my house and just spent the afternoon early evening waiting for someone to show up. Big waste of time & very unprofessional/ lazy
