DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO VECTOR SECURITY SYSTEMS. Too long a contract for too much. Only 3 days to review. Salesman came to door 8 pm, did a fine presentation and had a good product. Contract said 3 days to inspect, evaluate. Too little time, but Salesman said no, as a senior citizen, i had 30 days. Five year contract at $54/ month, discounted to be a first in the neighborhood. The crew had come from Nashville days before; this was their last day & they wanted to finish up and get back to base. So could installers come in same night. They were there til almost midnight. Salesman (young, likeable, clean looking, well presented) handed me a folder as he left and as I was going through the house with the installers. In less than 3 weeks, I realized the system would not work with all the goings and comings we had with grandchildren & pets. I called and wrote to cancel, well within my 30 days. Company insisted the contract was for three days, that i could not cancel, that the allowance for seniors was just for those 70 and older (not 66). I had one incidence to use the system. I had left a stove eye on and the smoke alarm went off. Company called, I said I was almost in my driveway so please do not call Rural Metro. With fans the smoke alarm stopped, but Company indicated they had to call Rural Metro fire engine anyway. That would be an unncecessary cost to taxpayers.. So I called Rural Metro, explained and cancelled the trip. In Nine months, I made severnal payments, had many calls to both AMP & Vector (the main sales arm of Vector Security sellinf Honeywell eqpt), & quite a few threats of collection harrassment. I stopped payments only to have them use a different nuimber and still deduct payment from my bank account. (There is a security company in next county that offers same features for half price.) Only by calling my state representatives, Ryan Haynes, who contacted Tennessee's Division of Consumer Affairs Protection Specialist, did the contract get cancelled. I am not sure what Mr Jim Gallery in Nashville said to AMP when he was finally able to pin them down, but finally AMP terminated my service. I got no refund but the nightmare of trying to make a company honor what its representative said is over.
Description of Work: Added to security system in home with motion sensors, sound sensors & system not requiring a land line telephone
