True Friends Moving Company

The owner replied to my first review, saying that he couldn't locate my work order. I can assure you that I have my invoice, and it's from true friends moving company. When the moving guys explained to me the total, there was an extra $200 to the bill. He explained to me that this was the driving cost added to every move, this charge would of not of bothered me except that when I had originally contacted the company they did not discuss this with me. I talked to the owners when looking for a moving company, they went over cost with me, and at no time did they tell me there was a charge for just driving to my house. This charge included driving from their office to my house and back to the office. When I buy lemonade I don't want to pay a hidden charge for the vendor to squeeze the lemons. I put an F on professionalism because of the owner not the workers. The two workers moved very quickly and were polite the whole time.

I have never seen 2 men use straps to pick up a refrigeration to move it in the upright position. And not one complaint all day long. I did not have any nicks or scratches in the furniture or the walls. Everything was placed where i wanted it. I would use them again and the are all local people and a local company. I am late in sharing but am not less convinced that they were my best choice. Thank you.

It has taken me quite a while to write this review because I was not sure I wanted to. After all, I really appreciated the two guys that moved us and did not want this to reflect poorly upon them. The reason will be apparent soon. The move went off without a hitch. The guys were thorough, careful, but quick. They were everything I would have asked for in movers. I would highly recommend True Friends based on these two guys. Aside from them, the end of the encounter was not quite what I was hoping for. I purchased what I thought to be at least two hours of moving because I had seen a coupon right next to the Buy It Now option on Angie's List which stated "$99 for 2 hours of moving labor (typically $149.00)" and the actual purchase was "$99 for $200 Worth of Moving Services." When it came time to settle up I was assuming I just going to be tipping them for such a great job. I was told that I needed to pay $35 for a fuel surcharge. This surcharge was never stated in any of the material I received from Angie's List or in emails from the company. I took issue with this and so the guys reached out to the owner to help me get it addressed. When the owner got on the line, he told me that I not only owed the $35 but an additional $30 because the rate for moving was $115/hr and not the $74.50 I thought it was based on the coupon I saw. For reference, the other three moving companies I have used in the past were all $85 per hour. I had to let one of the movers take a picture of of my computer screen so what I saw on Angie's List could be conveyed to the owner. I did write the check to cover what I was being told I still owed though I was not happy about it. After the movers returned to the office, I got a call back about the discrepancy. I was told the check would be voided and discarded because they did not want a negative review on Angie's List and would rather make me happy. It would have been nice if the check had not actually been cashed forcing me to wait for a refund check which I had to call and request. Ultimately however, the reason I delayed and almost did not write the review is that the owner told me that his guys would not get paid for the work if I did not post all A's in the review because that's how they were graded. I even tried to explain that if I were to write anything negative, it would be because of the owner's actions and not because of the movers. This did not seem to make a difference. He stuck by his statement he would not pay his guys. I hope this review does not come back to haunt these to awesome guys. They really were great. I also hope this review helps someone else that may not understand how their service works. If you purchase directly through Angie's List, make sure you know exactly what you are getting with your "$200 Worth." I apparently did not. Would I use True Friends again? Probably not after having written this review. However, it is a shame because the two guys that moved my wife's belongings sure were good at their job.

It was horrible due to the movers did not have any information on my quotes. They changed the amount several times before they were able to reach the owner. Both I and the mover was trying to reach him. On 10/3/14, The owner called me to apoligize for what had occured. He stated that the workers were not fully aware of the Angies List cost and they were not able to reach him at first to confirm the amount that should be charged. He has since trained his workers and and said it will never happen again. I accepted Chris's apology and we closed on a good note. I have changed my rating since he called me and explained what went wrong.0

Great. Only problem I found is that there was a $35 fuel charge that I did not know of until after I purchased deal. The two movers were prompt, quick,professional and polite.

Everything went well. The guys were quick and friendly. They had to move some heavy furniture up a flight of stairs and did so without damaging themselves or the furniture. I would use this company again.

This company is a life saver! I had trouble with the company that was supposed to be moving my things so I called this company the day of the move, hoping for anyone available. They scrambled to find two men to move my things but they did and sent them out within an hour of me calling initially. Alfred and Kevin moved my things with such efficiency and care! I had to drive approx. 470 miles to my next location and not a thing was broken or cracked! I am so appreciative that they could fit me in in my time of need!

Ben and Chase were on time and very pleasant. They evaluated the situation and began to work immediately.On hot July day, they worked steadily and without complaint. I was impressed with their work ethic and efficiency. They finished in less time that I had planned. After travelling 800 miles, I opened the truck to find everything in order. That tells me that they knew how to pack properly. Nothing was broken. From my perspective, Ben and Chase were worth every penny I spent

I used True friends to unload my POD after moving to a new house. The two guys that came out were on time, curious, friendly, and didn't smell like cigarette smoke. As for cost: I used a groupon/living social/etc type of deal. I think it was around $100 for 2 hours. I would use them again.

The two movers from True Friends arrived an hour and a half after the end of the scheduled two hour block, and I did not receive a phone call letting me know. When I called the main number an hour after the scheduled block ended and again an hour and a half later, the person at the office asked me if the movers had called me -- they had not -- and assured me they would be there soon. Once the movers arrived, they were quick and careful with my stuff, but I wouldn't use the service again. It caused too much stress!

They were courteous, professional and on time. I apprecaited the quick turnaround on getting me scheduled in when another customer cancelled!

Tried to schedule work for a Saturday, but Saturday was not allowed to be scheduled.

Justin and Alfred were very fast and efficient. They worked well as a team and they kept a good attitude. I had them move some stuff from the garage to the attic and from the first floor to the second floor. Now I see that I could have asked for a senior discount, which would have helped me in the price, since I needed them only for an hour.The next time I will see if someone can work for only an hour, but I was very pleased with their work.

The moving team of Ben and James were great and Chris was very helpful in setting up a last-minute move. The guys worked quickly but were very careful navigating heavy furniture around our house. Excellent communication--stayed in touch the morning of and throughout the day of our move to confirm times and locations. Would hire again.

I obtained a quote from this company for a move from Nashville to Louisville. The price was reasonable. At the time, I did not have a firm date for the move. When that was cleared up (about a week later), I attempted to contact the company by multiple phone and email messages over the course of three days, but received no response. For that reason, it was necessary to make arrangements with another mover. I later learned that the business owner was on a brief vacation, but had not left information to that effect on his voicemail or email responder. He was apologetic, and I believe he was sincere in that.

I had several large pieces of furniture to move out of my 3 bedroom condo. Not only did they do it in a timely fashion but they did a great job protecting my furniture. They even took my bed apart and put it back together for me.

I had a great experience with randy and shay. They went above and beyond to help me get my things packed onto my moving truck.

They were upfront and honest. We just could not get scheduled in time.

The owner, Chris, was awesome to work with. He emailed. He called. Constant communication! The moving guys were fast, professional, and hard workers. We had the belongs boxed up but they had the job of moving all the boxes and dismantling and moving the heavy stuff as well. I'm telling you! Within 6 hours we were already unpacking in our new home.
