We got Jon back earlier this year for a quote for remedial work, & we were considering giving him a further contract to provide foundations for a garage, but since then we have heard nothing & he has failed to respond to repeated emails & voicemail message. Nice guy & seems to know his stuff, but can't be trusted to complete the job.
It looks like we will have to pay another contractor to install a clay liner so that they hold water.
"[removed member name] in response to your review. You were onsite throughout the job and gave instructions the entire time this project was going on. Apparently, you and your husband (who didn't come home until the weekend) had different ideas about where you wanted the ponds located (unbeknownst to us). We had a roller onsite and compacted the banks with the best known practices. You and your husband decided to save money by installing seed and straw (and straw rolls) yourselves. As we explained, it is imperative that this be completed prior to any rain event. We visited your worksite several days (on Sunday) after the work was completed because a large storm was coming in that evening and you were still struggling with getting the disturbed areas completed. It is understandable that you did not realize the amount of work involved and the time it would require for two people to complete (we had over 1 acre of disturbed ground). After the rain event, the pond banks experienced silting from the inside banks not being stabilized with fabric or straw rolls. This caused erosion of the inside pond banks which resulted in poor water retention. We clearly explained that no warranty would be made or implied with us not completing the erosion measures ourselves. We also came back on a Saturday to dig an additional ornamental pond behind your home 1 month after work was completed and no mention or complaint was made about the ponds in front. To address your second concern... Per your request, we came back approx. one year later to discuss additional work on expanding and repairing your existing driveway and site work for a new garage (shop) next to your residence. Due to our workload at the time and after meeting with you and Luc to discuss the project, we decided it would not be in our best interest to provide an estimate. My apologies if this offended you by us not wanting to provide additional work. Best wishes for your upcoming project."
"We responded to [removed member name] inquiry and sent a crew back out to remedy her concerns back in 2012. We additionally responded through the BBB and they show that this complaint was satisfied to the homeowners approval. Glad to have been able to worked to an acceptable agreement."
