Brought my 2000 Nissan Frontier truck in to check out new "clunk" sound on from driver's side wheel. Was charged $30.59 to inspect vehicle and provide estimate, after being initially quoted $25. Was told I needed a new linkage assembly, tie rod assembly, Sway bar assembly and stabilizer bar control link for a grand total of $1,295.71. I told them I couldn't afford the repair and I was referred to Bobby @ Ultimate tire & Car Care, who performed the same service with factory authorized parts for $739.12, and was very happy with the service I received @ Ultimate. Everyone @ Import Auto Maintenance seemed very friendly, qualified and professional, but who can afford to spend almost double for the same repair? I know I cant.

Everything went well, but I found them to be rather expensive. My "check engine" light came back on a few months later as well. While I cannot be sure if it's related to their work, it does give me an uneasy feeling about them.

I had scheduled the appointment for first thing in the morning (7:30 am) with the intention of waiting in their waiting area until the work was completed. They performed the work quickly and professionally. They have a comfortable waiting area with free wi-fi internet access which allowed me to get some work done while I waited. I have used IAM for other service on my Passat with excellent results, and plan to continue to use them.

Lori Garrett has been working there at least as long as I've been going there. She's always very friendly and helpful. She knows cars. She explains to you what you need done. They do not try to sell you services you do not need. If they find something else that needs fixing other than what you agreed to when you dropped the car (which has been rare in my experience) they call you to get your permission to fix it. I plan to continue taking both cars there. They stamp your book so you have a record of all the maintenance they have performed.

I have a VW Jetta, and after having been failed by both the local VW dealers' service departments a co-worker recommend I take my car to Import Auto Maintenance. I did, and they were much more responsive and less condescending (I can't stand when an auto shop treats me like I'm "just a woman") than either of the VW dealers. In fact Import Auto was just the opposite... they listened to me and actually heard the sound I was hearing and felt the shifting problems I was having. I left my car and they drove me to work (a great perk). They performed the requested oil change and told me they thought the problem with my shifting and the noise was a transmission issue. Since I am still under the powertrain warranty, they recommended I bring the car back to VW and tell them to check the transmission. They did not charge me for this opinion or perform unnecessary work or work that I could get at the dealer under warranty. That rates big in my book. The VW dealer of course still says nothing is wrong with my transmission, but I've been driving the car for 9 years, and I know when something is different. I'd have Import Auto fix it if it wasn't covered under warranty. I will be brining my car back to import auto for any and all work not under warranty. They are located downtown (where I work), offer transportation to and from work, are courteous, punctual and do not try to do work that is not needed. And they treated me like a human - no different than they would treat a man. That's hard to find anywhere. I would recommend them to anyone.
